The minibots don't even scream "MUST BUY" to me. I like when they do add ons, their full bots just don't seem to synch with me.

Not really interested, but not because it looks bad. Just not a big fan of the Sharkticons. Very nicely done otherwise.

Looks pretty much how I'd imagine a new mold, deluxe Sharkticon from Hasbro to turn out. Not super nuts about the tail, but that's not a big deal. Looks like a quality piece that I'd pretty happily use to replace my Botcon Sharkticons.

I'm interested if its a good price. I don't see Hasbro ever doing Gnaw again. I also hope they do a Gatorcon.

I'm thinking three, my usual "army-building" count. Or, if these are small and inexpensive, along the lines of their Minibots, maybe up to five to look like a decent swarm of 'em.

That thing is hot. Wish it was a bit spikier though. But he's a definite buy.
Count me as another person hoping they do an Allicon.

I kind of like the Botcon Sharkticon as my Gnaw, so I dunno about this one. It looks small, too.

Mar 20 2012, 04:31 PM
Going by their other stuff, I think the parts and detailing would look simpler if it was less than about a deluxe. Could be wrong though, obviously.
I'd probably get three, if I was going to troop build them. Two never seemed like enough to be a grouping to me. I'll do it if the quality is really good, and there aren't glaring design flaws. I would say the money from selling the Botcon trio would pay for them, but keeping those as an alternate Quintesson creation would probably make sense.

I can't figure why I would want that. It doesn't look good. It doesn't look better than the G1 version.

i like it. I want it as long as it is not in the price range of not Rachet and not Ironhide. If its in the 30-50 range I will bite. I will say though the way they have the legs positioned looks kinda off. Hopefully they can be positioned better

To me, it looks better than G1 Gnaw in roughly the same way that any Classics toy looks better than their G1 version. Not sure why you'd single it out, but I understand you don't have to like it.

I like the idea of him being rotund instead of barrel-chested, and I would have been very cool with them sticking with that aspect, but it's also not something I'm going to decry them for moving away from either.

I'm actually more excited about the alt mode with the big bulging bug eyes and a mouth full of multiple rows of sharp teeth. Yeah, I'd prefer the bot mode to be a little more portly, but the shark is what I'm really liking.
My robot heroes sharkticon who's currently sitting in my G1 movie display doesn't look like he's smiling anymore.

It does the beast mode very well. The robot mode loses a lot of the G1 version's charm, as the Sharkticons always went from being a very threatening beast to a laughably endearing robot mode. The thing that kills it is the addition of the waist section instead of just attaching the legs directly to the bulbous torso section.
That and the way his shoulder joints work kind of frighten me.

My sentiments exactly. I don't think it's bad necessarily, just not markedly different enough from the original to warrant the 3rd party price.

So they keep showing all this new stuff, but what happened to their Ratchet and Ironhide?
Mine are still on pre-order at BBTS, and the initial date was final quarter last year.

I've seen people mention Animated Grimlock - maybe the Activators version? I can sort of see that but there's pretty significant re-tooling regardless.
This guy is kind of neat and always one to go against convention I never cared for the fat bot mode of the original even if it is more screen accurate. This has a great alt-mode and a better looking bot for my tastes. I'll echo the sentiments that a three pack for a good price would be perfect.

I prefer chubby vs barrel-chested Sharkticons. That said, it's close enough that if it were cheap enough I might want a couple.

If the price is right, I'll buy 3 for an "army." I only have one Botcon Sharkticon, so I'll use that as Gnaw/a Sharkticon general.
I'm not familiar with the drink in that pic. I'm guessing this is the size of a small scout. Anyone familiar with the drink?

It says 320ml. (Welcome to METRIC)
Cans here are normally 375ml. So it's slightly smaller.
So maybe a tiny bit bigger than a scout in alt mode. In robot mode you'd be looking at Classics Bumblebee size, I'm guessing. Maybe a tad smaller.

Feels about right to me size wise compared to, say, Classics Hot Rod and Kup.

Now that's a scale pic we need to see, perhaps with a MP Grimlock too.
