The first thread was banished to the moon for growing too large and unwieldy, so here we are again.
THIS IS A SPOILER THREAD
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Cabooceratops
Hush, Kein, the title's just fine.
LoomX
Is the Pinkie song leaked from an upcoming episode or from that rumoured soundtrack album?

Either way, someone could be in big trouble for leaking this...
Cabooceratops
That song is ridiculously amazing.

Best pony song yet, I think.

And yet totally not kosher, Youtube-Dude. Not cool.
ZeroX
Three and half minutes seems to be pushing it for an episode song. Even winter wrap-up wasn't quite that long. Still, an awesome Pinkie Pie song that just about sums up her entire character. I wouldn't mind similar character pieces for the rest of the gang.
TM2-Megatron
One of the comments said the Youtube account was made from the Philippines, so it was probably one of the animators in the studio over there. I doubt they'd have access to a song that was made exclusively for a CD since their work revolves around animation for the show only, so I imagine we'll be hearing this song in an upcoming episode.
LoomX
Seems to be causing a lot of panic over in the comments on Youtube. Like Kein said, Daniel Ingram hasn't leaked this so he's not going to get into trouble like when Winter Wrap Up leaked out. Him locking his Facebook page is probably to stop it spreading or to stop hundreds of bronies flooding his wall with "Dude! Is this song real?!" and stuff like that.

Great song though, even if it is causing a lot of trouble. At least it hasn't nearly caused a war between buffalos and ponies (well, not yet at least) like certain other Pinkie Pie songs...
Don_East
I'm thinking Soundtrack Album with this one, definitely an image song. I love for each pony to have one plus Spike & the CMC.
Guardian Prime
Wow. That's quite the leak there. If they find whoever leaked that, I'm pretty sure his/her animating days are going to be over.

I can easily see this as a song for an upcoming episode. Remember that the Gala song was about 3 minutes and 15 seconds long, so another song that is only a few seconds longer in a future episode is very possible.
Shutterbug
I really like the song, but it most definitely doesn't feel like an episode song to me. Only time will tell I guess.
TM2-Megatron
I doubt very much that's Daniel Ingram's real account. For one, it blatantly says "I'll be leaking songs", and Daniel Ingram knows better than to do that. Also, the account was just made today, but Mr. Ingram has an existing YT account that the original leak of Winter Wrap-Up was uploaded to (I believe he intended to have it set as Private, but accidentally left it public).
TM2-Megatron
That's not what your post implied you believed prior to editing, which was what I was responding to.

But as you said, sense. Not much makes it.
ZeroX
Darn, where's that image of Applejack surrounded by Discord's sentient apple piles with the text "Seems Legit" when you need it...

On the other hoof, I've listened to this song almost a dozen times now and I think it is absolutely amazing. Maybe the best MLP song so far, definitely the best Pinkie Pie song so far. It actually gives Pinkie Pie some depth beyond her general random silliness.
TM2-Megatron
Fortunately, I don't think that's representative of an average fan of the show. Hasbro might not be run by geniuses, but I'm sure they're aware Daniel Ingram isn't the one responsible for this leak. In a way, I hope they find out who did. As much as I like the song and the way it exemplifies Pinkie's personality, Mr. Ingram must be irritated that someone at the Top Draw leaked his work. While he won't get in trouble with Hasbro, no doubt it's caused him a headache.
Masked Toaster
It is a crime for who ever released that song to do so.

NDAs carry very hefty fines including prison sentence in a federal prison, but that depends on the company and their lawyers.
For those involved in Oz, the Great and Powerful, we were threatened with twenty years and multiple fines in the tens-of-thousands.

And if these things continue, we'll get not only no more spoilers or teasers, but they may even start cracking-down on things that are posted/sold without their licensed agreement.
TheOptimusPrime
That song lacks a little swag. Soulja Boi should help the Season 2 soundtrack since it's clear HasbRow sucks at music.

I doubt that would happen. The way to stop people from breaking one rule is not to make more things against the rules.

Some companies do seem to do a much better job of keeping a tight lid on things than others, though. Valve, the video game company, is an excellent example. They've only had two leaks in their history that I can recall. One was caused by legit hacking from an outside source; the other was due to a bug in YouTube's iPhone app. Maybe they're run by Oompa-Loompas.

I think the show is best enjoyed one episode at a time and hope you all resist the temptation to do otherwise. Love and tolerance.

If you want to talk about leak prevention in games, you should consider Blizzard's new MMO project titan, even with the leaked information that Blizzard quickly covered up, no one knows what the game is about or even called. The only leaked information about the game so far is that it exists and Blizzard has been working on it for 4 years now and even that costs several people in China their jobs. And losing your job in China is really bad because the family has to pay the company until they find a replacement.

The news regarding season 3 sure has got some fans in a panic over on EqD. Reminds me of when Lauren announced she was stepping down.

I'm interested to know what was meant by Lauren and Rob's departure being "a little ugly", although I'm sure it's nothing major.

The writer's they've still got are all, in my opinion, good and have written some great episodes.

Will season 3 maintain the same quality as season 1 and 2 (which we're not even halfway through yet)? Only time will tell.
Rezo
I''ll admit, seeing parts of the fandom panic over the writer of Dragonshy & Party of One now doing the story editing had me chuckle a bit.

(Though I'm no fan of Party of One, tbh)
LoomX
Dragonshy was probably the episode that turned me into a fan so having Meghan McCarthy as story editor is ok by me. Amy Rogers not being in s3 is disappointing since she wrote some good episodes, and Charlotte Fullerton isn't mentioned which is a shame because Suited For Success was a great episode and made me sympathise with a character I hadn't really cared about up until then (Rarity).

I keep seeing a lot of dislike for Dave Polsky. I thought his episodes were ok, certainly not the worst from s1.

The 13 episodes thing is getting a lot of people worked up. Is a shorter season really the end of the world? Plus we don't know if more will be ordered to bring it up to the normal 26.
Masked Toaster
Amy missing will be sad, since she wrote the recently leaked song HIGHLIGHT to view:
that's supposedly in this week's episode. That makes me thing that Cutie Pox may have something to do with somepony's mindset about their cutie mark. If they're depressed about it, something along that vein, maybe...

I don't particularly like the thirteen-episode seasons. It's not that bad if it's handled like Warehouse 13 and formerly Eureka.
They split a twenty-six episode season into thirteen-episode half-seasons. Then they were able to release a few episodes, finish and polish, then go back and do another batch.
Shutterbug
I think it would be kind of funny if she had been told to say that they had only ordered 13 episodes just to see how the fans responded to the news.
Personally, I think its silly to worry at all until we hear it straight from The Hub / Hasbro.
TM2-Megatron
All that silly panic is one of the reasons why I wish nobody like The Hub really gave out info like that. Having people like Nayuki show up to answer a few smaller questions about the show is cool, but writers releasing major info like that just seems like a bad idea.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro is waiting to see how Season 2 does as it progresses before deciding whether to order another 13 episodes for S03, or just to leave it at a half-season. With that much of a shakeup of people, including the creator of the series herself, leaving and others being reshuffled to take their place, Hasbro is no doubt a little hesitant to commit fully to the show again until they see continued positive figures.

Here’s a FiM video casualty that’s the result of that leaked song. Boomstix, the animator that brought us the "Evolution of a Scene" videos, removed all of them. icon-screamer.gif He has this on his profile…….

"Attention, due to the recent scandal of the leakage of MLP season 2 scenes and music may that leaker rot its soul; I must delete all my videos to avoid legal repercussions."

Well, that sucks. I wonder what other damage this leak has caused?

That's just silly ,Hasbro don't need to do that, TA still haven't changed and the show will be successful on primary target anyway.

More than that, I'm pretty sure Hasbro ordered TWO seasons, s03 and 04, both are 13 episodes. It would make sense to be careful at fist launch, but no, Hasbro pretty much new that show will do its job and they ordered s01 and s02 in a row as well.

Big media does not wok like you imagine, there is just no time for such small checks, it just irrational and unreasonable. You either roll or not.

There's no harm in being cautious; especially not when you've invested significant money in something, as Hasbro has; and when the production staff has changed significantly from what it was. They're going forwards with S03 without the original creator and some of their writers; in some ways that is almost like starting over. If they like the way things are looking later in the year, there's no reason they couldn't increase their order from 13 to 26 episodes. That kind of thing isn't uncommon, and it's certainly not "silly".

QUOTE(Kein @ Nov 10 2011, 02:14 AM) *

If they were as confident of that as you seem to believe, the order for S03 would presently be a full 26 episodes. There'd be no reason to change something that's proven to work.

If it stays at 13 episodes, though, I wouldn't be surprised if this were the beginning of the end. We'd get S03, then maybe a 13-episode S04 and that'd likely be it. I still recall with dread the reduced episode order for Season 3 of Arrested Development. Although in the case of AD, it was constantly in a fight with its network to survive; the last season was just part of a natural progression. With MLP, we dont' really have any information that indicates that's the case. From the little we've heard, the new MLP is performing for the Hub; so why shake things up now unless they were nervous about losing some of the key writers and creator?

Boomstix has nothing to do with EoaS videos, it was jinratgeist.

UHG! You're right. icon-waspy.gif
MLP related videos from both their channels are gone (both are from the Philippines and both are Animators at Top Draw.) I had the two backwards. icon-waspy.gif Been a while since I looked at their MLP vids. Jinratgeist originally had his EoaS vids set to private about 4 weeks ago. But now it looks like they were completely removed.

Still, it sucks that they all are having to dump their vids because of that leak. We've lost out on so much great material.

Lost the 1st and 5 ones tho.

I have 1, 2, and 4 downloaded for when I made .gifs of the bonus animations at the end of them. I never got around to retrieving 3, 5, and 6. I'm wishing I had. icon-waspy.gif

Jinratgeist was working on a 7th and final one of which he was going to add OC ponies into it. That's never going to happen now. icon-screamer.gif

Even before the leaked song, It's also unfortunate that Sibsy had to take down all of her storyboards on dA almost a month ago about the same time jinratgeist put his EoaS vids on private before removing them. Even all the YT vids that I'm aware of that were based on Sibsy's storyboards are gone. *pouts*
Pocket
Well then. Maybe I was wrong before and Hasbro plans to remove all non-fan-made pony content from the Internet after all.

If we stop hearing from Nayuki for a while, we'll know why.
Sobana
Could this really be the end? The show was doing so well, it probably had the highest ratings too. If the show ends, does that mean this sub-forum will die too?
Masked Toaster
Ponies never say 'die'! Even if, and when, the show does end, ponies will continue to create things for this fandom. The fandom will not die-out because the show ended. We'll fight, and claw and scratch to keep it alive.
Guardian Prime
I seriously doubt it's going to be the end. Sibsy's storyboards and the YT vids related to them, along with the MLP YT vids from some of the animators at Top Draw being taken down are more likely a precaution on their part, to keep themselves from getting in trouble.

Originally, Sibsy and the others started to put that stuff out after Season 1 had finished airing. They believed that it would be safe to do so. That is until the Luna Eclipsed storyboard pics were leaked. That is when things started getting ugly. My theory is that Hasbro was probably not very happy about that Luna Eclipsed leak, so Sibsy and Jinratgeist removed their stuff off of dA and YT as a precaution for themselves. When the leaked Pinkie Pie song happened, that more than likely put the rest of the MLP team on edge, making them remove whatever MLP material they had as well.

Basically, I think that whoever is responsible for these leaks has pretty much dulled some of the fun not only for us, but for the MLP team that also enjoy being a part of this fandom.

All good things must come to an end eventually. But I don't think it will be this soon. There are several reports that FiM is one of the highest rated shows on the HUB and increased the sales for the brand. Unless Hasbro wants to go Ralph Bighead on us, I expect our beloved pony show to end on Season 4 at the soonest. In fact they probably just chopped the season in half to stretch the show out to 2013.

It wasn't another EoaS video, it was a bonus animation with OCs and Magneto, afair.

Exactly. I mean, did G1 die? Until Dreamwave took up the license again, we had an about 10-year period without any G1 material. Or check Gargoyles. The show has been over since 1997, and people still keep fan-meetings and give in petitions.

But anyway, this is Hasbro we are talking about. Ponies will always be around, just like Transformers or GI Joe, they will never go away as long as Hasbro exists - they will not want to lose the license.

I kind of hope the episode ends with Rainbow Dash deciding she doesn't need a pet. I mean, otherwise it starts sending off a vibe of "everyone should have a pet" or, worse, "if all your friends have something, you ought to have one too, to fit in." The implication was bad enough from the toy line, and then from the toy line influencing the show, but throw in a setup of the driving force behind the plot being upset that she doesn't fit in...

...wait a second...
