“Hey Preceptor,” Blaster greeted his old friend, “What’s shaken?”
“All servos are with in tolerable vibration limits,” Preceptor said in his monotone voice. Blaster shook his head as he pass by the much smaller Autobot. When Blaster looked back up he saw Jazz standing near the entrance. Jazz was a bot that still hade a personality, he also had a new state of the art body style.
“Sup fellow music lover?” Jazz said as Blaster walked up to him.
“Ozzy jumped to number 19 on Billboard’s charts,” Blaster said
“How does that old human keep going?” Jazz asked rhetorically. Blaster shook his head again, looking back at Preceptor.
“Ever scene that bot got his personality deleted,” Blaster said, “our friend ship has depleted.”
“He went for the down size and wanted to keep all the data he could,” Jazz said. Blaster held up an open to Jazz.
“I know,” he said, “I heard it all from him already.” Jazz put a reassuring had on Blaster’s shoulder.
“You’re a cool cat to hang with anyway,” Blaster said, Jazz smiled.
“I’m digging your you look dawg,” Jazz said. “The black is smooth, but what’s the deal with the tall shoulders?”
“Sonic weapons,” Blaster said quietly, “On par with ol’ Soundwave, Or so the tell me.”
“Well at least you got a better look than that bomber you were sporting a few month ago,” Jazz said. Blaster was about to reply when a blue and black soldier with yellow highlights bumped in to him. There was nothing outstanding about this soldier, he was no different that Sideswipe on Redalert or one of the hundreds of other bots just like him that were milling about Iacon City that morning.
“Who is that bot?” Blaster asked.
“Just some bot,” Jazz said, “well hey it’s been nice seeing you bro, but I got to go.” Jazz Transformed and drove off. Blaster was not sure that the Blue Soldier was just some bot. He had seen him around before, he was even starting to notice a pattern, once ever three months. And so few of the soldiers with his body type had the extra bit of color that this bot had. Just that touch of yellow on his chest, shoulders and waist. The only other bots that had that were Sideswipe, Redalert and a few of the mid level commanders. This Blue Soldier always just walked right in to HQ and right in to the command elevator. Blaster went to Redalert’s office.
“Thanks for seeing me, Red” Blaster said as he came in and sat down.
“You came alone right?” Redalert said as he stood up and checked the door way behind Blaster.
“Yeah Red, chill out,” Blaster said. Redalert closed and locked the door.
“So some one is going to use some kind of freeze ray on us?” Redalert said.
“Nah, bro it’s just an Earth expression,” Blaster tried to reassure the Autobot Security Director.
“So the Humans are finally going to attack us!” Redalert said.
“What?!” Blaster said, “No. Look I’m here because I keep seeing this Blue Autobot soldier around. He’s got yellow highlights and when ever he shows up meetings get canceled.”
“Leave security to me Blaster,” Redalert said in a surprisingly calm voice, “You stick to commutations.” Redalert got up and walked over to the door. He used a monitor to see if anyone was near by in the hall outside his door, it was clear.
“You can go,” he said as he unlocked the door. Blaster stood up as the door hissed open.
“Look I just want you to take a look at this bot,” Blaster said as he walked out the door. “He’s one electronic paint job and a new helmet away from being you,” he said trying to play on the Security Director’s paranoia.
“I’ve got it all under control,” Redalert said and he pushed Blaster out the door and locked it after it closed in the Commutation Officers face.
Blaster knew there was something fishy about that Blue and yellow Autobot and Redalert was not going to help. He would have to look outside of the normal Autobot command team.

“So you came to me,” Nightbeat said. The Autobot detective stood up behind his desk. “It seems simple enough,” he said. “Who ever this bot is he’s going to see the command group, one of our top three,” he said as he walked around the desk. “And what ever he has for them makes them change up some of their plans.” Nightbeat looked out the small window near the roof of his basement office. He squinted as his optics adjusted to the setting sun.
“Thanks bro,” Blaster said. “Is there any thing I can get you as a kind of Payment?”
“Yes,” Night beat said as he walked to the door. “Earth music from the 1940s.” Nightbeat opened the door for Blaster. “Now I’ll have to ask you to leave.” Blaster got up form the chair and went to shake Nightbeat’s hand. “Pleas go,” Nightbeat said as if he was fight some kind of pain. Blaster backed out slowly only to get another door shut in his face.

It had been three months scene Nightbeat had taken Blaster’s case. Blaster had come by a week after his first visit with the payment and an image on the bot Nightbeat was to look in to. Nightbeat had been hanging around Autobot HQ for a week now and most bots that knew him had stopped asking why he was there. Nightbeat saw the one bot that would ask every time coming his way.
“What brings you here today?” Redalert asked.
“Can’t a bot just enjoy a morning in Iacon City?” Nightbeat said as he always did. All that reply ever did was make Redalert more paranoid.
“You think the sunrise is nice you should see the stars,” Redalert said.
“I have things to do at night,” Nightbeat said. “They don’t call me Nightbeat for nothing.” Redalert glared at
Nightbeat for a second before heading inside. Nightbeat chuckled to himself. Then he saw the bot he was looking for. Blue Autobot Soldier with black arms and legs, yellow highlight, black helmet with tall pointy ears, crest in the center of his forehead, and yellow on the lower part of his helmet. He acted just like Blaster had said too. Moved quickly but not so fast to get noticed.
“Hey bot,” Nightbeat said grabbing his arm as he passed, “what’s your name? I’ve never seen you before.”
“I’m just a soldier,” the Autobot told him as he jerked his arm away. The Blue Soldier ran in to Autobot HQ and got on the command elevator, no one tried to stop him. The guards did stop Nightbeat.
“Sorry,” one of them said, “you can’t go up today.” he was yet another Soldier with the same body as the mysterious blue bot, but this guard was completely silver, with the exception of his dull gold face. The other guard was of the same body type but used the reversed torso robot mode. He was a golden yellow and his vehicle mode would have black racing stripes.
“Prime’s called off all meetings for today so if you had an appointment you’ll have to reschedule,” The gold one said. Nightbeat just left. He went out side and transformed and waited. It was late afternoon when the Blue Soldier came out. He walked a few yards away before he Transformed and drove off. Nightbeat fallowed. They drove for hours to the south. It would be dark soon and Nightbeat would have to get back to his office and lock himself in until morning. The blue Soldier was using a small road on the surface of Cybertron when he took a sudden left off the road and in to a tunnel. Few Autobots knew about the tunnels that led deep in to Decepticon territory and there was only one reason Night beat could think of that this Autobot would be using this tunnel. Nightbeat was half way down the tunnel when something hit him. It was a white truck that had been hiding behind a pile of Decepticon bodies. The white truck was not just any Transformer it was Ultra Magnus and he did not stop after running head first in to Nightbeat. Nightbeat Transformed and tried to stop Magnus but the Autobot City Commander was too strong. Ultra Magnus pushed Nightbeat all the way to the mouth of the tunnel, before he Transformed.
“Why were you fallowing that Soldier?” Magnus asked with his authoritative voice.
“I was paid to find out who he is,” Nightbeat said.
“By whom?” Magnus asked.
“Sorry sir I cant reveal my client,” Nightbeat said.
“As I thought,” Magnus said. “So what did you deduce about that Soldier?” Magnus asked.
“He’s a spy of some sort,” Nightbeat said, “and the fact that you’re her to keep his identity safe suggests that he’s a spy for us.”
“That’s right,” Magnus admitted, “only four Autobot know, well five now, about him.”
“My client will want an answer,” Nightbeat said. Ultra Magnus began to walk away from the tunnel, Nightbeat walked with him.
“Tell your client that Autobot command is well aware of that soldier’s activities and that he should stick to communications and let Redalert handle security.”
