So today, instead of playing Halo as is her current obsession, my fiance' decided to put in Mass Effect...and spent five plus hours playing it. She blew through the Citadel stuff and has blown through the majority of Feros. I love this woman! icon-ironhide.gif

Oh, she also was quick to remark at how much the Mako sucked. icon-fire.gif
Esser-Z
If she's not planning to romance Liara, tell her to save her for last. It's so hilarious. icon-fire.gif

Always good to hear of another person enjoying the series. I love it so much.

Speaking of love, woo Tali's loyalty mission. The paragon route for that is so damn awesome. Shepard needs to get that promotion to Captain, damnit. "I wasn't defending one of your people. I was defending one of mine."

Has the question been answered as of yet , if your shepard dies at the end of mass effect 2, whom do you play as in ME3?
Esser-Z
You don't. You can't import a ME2 save with Shepard dead into ME3.

Honestly, I haven't even brought up the Romance options. I want to see who ends up entering the cabin. icon-waspy.gif

Actually, I'm just enjoying watching her play and the choices she makes. Especially since I just cannot bring myself to be a a-hole in video games, and she's enjoying the Renegade Options.

She blew away that ExoGeni supervisor on Feros when he freaks out a bit. Her response when selecting that option: "This guy is pissing me off." icon-fire.gif

Haha, line I hadn't heard before. If you're having trouble (crashing into stufF) in the Lair of the Shadow Broker car chase, Shepard says "You okay?" and Liara responds with "Still better than the Mako."

im gonna have to start crashing into stuff just so i can hear that one

i think we came to the conclusion a couple pages back you play as conrad in the third one if your shep dies icon-fire.gif
Esser-Z
Well! There's my primary Shepard all set for ME3.

This is incredible stuff. icon-bee.gif

Her "Tank!" video is also masterfully done, for those that haven't seen it yet.

Rust
Now that was intense and epic.
Esser-Z
So I'm kinda an idiot. I bought the second alternate appearance pack! Now Miranda actually wears armor!
Telly
miranda looks good in the armor. atleast her backside does...

so! now that im on xbox live permanently, i have to replay all my games for that profile. but luck intervened and i was able to transfer ownership of my me1 level 60 shep to my xbox live profile! me1 is a fun and great game, but i REALLY wasnt looking forward to building up to level 60 again. i dont have my achievements on either game anymore but that no biggie. now i can go through and get it just the way i want it and wait for next march icon-silverbolt.gif

btw, i realised something when i was fighting saren/soverign at the end of 1: the only reason i saved the council was so i could rub that turian members face in it when the reapers show up lol

something thats been bothering me about the end of 1: what the heck is this? its from the very final shot of shep and earth. its not the citadel and ive been wondering for years what it is

The closing shot of Mass Effect always shows Shepard, but varies according to morality choices. If the commander is a Paragon, Shepard is standing empty-handed against a blue-hued planet with an unknown space station in orbit. If the commander is a Renegade, Shepard is standing against a silhouetted planet in a red nebula, holding an assault rifle.

That's from the Mass Effect wiki. so my guess would be nothing important.

Hrm. Not totally satisfied, I don't like it as much as my Garrus Transformer. Just wanted to see if I could make it work.
Esser-Z
It's a really nice looking 'bot, but yeah, Garrus worked a lot better.

Did you give up on painting one?

I'm wondering if Payload might look better as Legion.

im still deciding. probly should finish it since i got a good start on it already

Details and covers from the next Mass Effect comic series, I'm intrigued.

"The Omega space station is the center of lawlessness in the galaxy, a den of vice ruled by the deadly asari Aria. It is also a strategic foothold in a galaxy-wide power struggle, and when the station comes under attack from a new threat unleashed by the humanity-first organization Cerberus, Aria is forced to become more ruthless than ever to protect her home—and her dominion!"

Esser-Z
And lo, the Illusive Man learns Omega's single rule.

Is this another mini. Or an ongoing comic series?

There are a few videos on the Bioware-related festivities at Comic-Con here:

The most recent video kick started a vote on the official female Shepard, and will decide the one that will be appearing in the upcoming female Shepard trailer!

And yet none of them are actually the default Jane? How's that work?

I used basically the default face for mine, so I'd have liked to see it used. Alas.

Just started playing Mass Effect 2 (PS3) But I want to re-start and make some different decisions. I tried to re-build my Sheperd as much as possible, but she just doesn't look right compared to the first one I made.

Is there a way to retrieve the face code it gave me when I first designed her and input it to the new one? It's gonna drive me nuts!

EDIT: Come on, guys. Please!?
Frost181
Insanity run and Shadow Broker are down now thanks to trusty soldier shep and the unstoppable revenant. Probably going to tackle Arrival tomorrow and then put the game to rest for awhile again.

I'm tempted to start a new run some time in the future with a male Shepard in ME1 to import and get ready for number 3 but I can't help but feel like the only reason it'd really be worth it is to do a renegade play through to counter the female paragon. problem is I can never bring myself to actually go through with half the renegade actions, plus there's that ever growing backlog of unplayed games.

Which half?

I avoided... most renegade actions in 1 that passed a certain threshold (Queen lived, colonists lived, commando lived, Wrex lived, council lived), and still got a nice renegade score.

Same in 2. I mean, didn't go pure renegade, but I got a majority. I find pure Paragon or Renegade rather... not fun.
Esser-Z
I tend to get 100% Paragon and maybe 25% Renegade with my main Shepard. I love that the bars build separately.
Frost181
I usually end up with a full paragon bar and maybe a quarter renegade. little stuff like punching reporters or renegade interrupts I don't mind doing but usually the main moral decisions always strike me as stuff that's gonna bite me in the ass later in the story. (aforementioned Wrex, queen, council etc.) not to mention the fact that more often than not it feels like performing renegade actions prevents events from being followed up on in later games. and then there's the whole racist subtext which makes no sense to me when you recruit a team full of aliens.
Telly
does renegade fill up slower than paragon? seems like it takes forever to build renegade so i stop and start on paragon lol

OK, I found where the face code was on my previous Shepard, is there a way I can re-create the same Shepard using that code on another save file?

I believe that when you go to make a new face, you can key down to the code field and enter it there.

In my glacial playthrough of Mass Effect 2, I've finally wrapped up Lair of the Shadow Broker. That was...unexpected. Be interesting to see how this all plays into Mass Effect 3.

So yeah. Outside scouting a few more systems, looks like I'm ready to get the Reaper IFF. I still kind of wish I'd waited to do Tali's Loyalty mission until I had Legion. I'd love to see how the Quarians would have reacted to that.
Confuzor
I'm roughly in the same place, don't have legion yet tho (is it possible to get it before going after the IFF?)

I'm a bit in a huff now tho since I broke up the fight between Miranda and Jack, I sided with Jack, and Miranda's being a total 5-year-old about it. I have like 90% Paragon and it still won't give me the option to convince her to get over it. I finally went and played Zaeed's loyaly mission to hope to gain some more Paragon points. I did, but in doing so srewed over his mission. so he's pissed at me too, but I don't even get his special ability or alternate scheme. Whatever, with Garrus and Thane on my side there's no reason to use Zaeed anyway. (and the points I got for failing his mission still weren't enough to to tell Miranda to grow the hug up)
Rust
With Miranda and Jack, you have to chose the Blue option initially if you want to keep both of them happy - basically by telling them both to grow the hug up. I don't think there's a way to get Miranda to be loyal after that fight. She's dead meat.

As for Zaeed, dunno how you managed to screw that up so badly, but given he's a DLC character I wouldn't worry overmuch about it.

I've been running with Garrus and Kasumi myself. Going to actually miss Kasumi when she's gone (As I doubt she's a squad mate in ME3), she's a good fighter and I like her tongue in cheek observations.
Total Biscuit
With Jack and Mirander you need 100% Paragon or 75% Renegade to talk them both down, Tali and Legion is the other way around. You can however get eithers loyalty back after you side with the other, but you still need the same percentage of points. Mirander will most likely survive no matter what though, her disloyalty is more likely to get others killed infact.

Zaees also being disloyal is a bit more worrying, as he, Garrus and Grunt with loyalty will get most of the others through the suicide mission by themselves.

If you don't want to risk Kasumi, Tali, Jack and Mordin, it might be worth going back to an earlier save.

Also, a good tip for Zaeed is to do his LM before Horizon, as you need alot fewer Paragon points to complete it then.
Confuzor
I wasn't given the blue option during the Jack/Miranda fight. I'm playin on PS3 and thus don't have the boosts of transferring over from ME1.

With Zaeed, I opted to go save the people instead of blindly chasing after Vido. We got there and he escaped in a ship. I think it gave me the option to kick him off my team, but I chose to make him aware of who's in charge.

I really like Kasumi, I love her voice and she seems to be one of he few people who enjoys talking with Shepard. Her alt red outfit is neat too. I too hope she'll have a bit more presence in the 3rd game.

Might be worth doing Lair of the Shadowbroker and, if you've got it, Arrival first then, as they both give a good chunk of morality points and can be done pre suicide mission. Sadly overlord doesn't, and of the three that's the only one that makes sense to be set before it.

But if you don't mind a slight bit of non obvious linearity in the main plot, it can make the difference between passing a speech check or not, especially on the PS3.
Confuzor
I'm afraid that if I re-do Zaeed's mission to gain his loyalty, I won't have enough paragon points even with the Shadow Broker and Arrival (which I should get around to buying...) to verbally bitch-slap Miranda out of her funk.
Esser-Z
You can get his loyalty as Paragon! You basically go all 'dude, you're on a team now, act like it' and he goes '...yeah, okay, makes sense' and it all works out!

But to do that you need a rather high Paragon rating, over 75% if I remember correctly.

Also, the Paragon choice for getting Miranders Loyalty back is less a verbal bitch slap, and more Shepard telling her they lied through their teeth to Jack, and that they really agreed with Mirander all along, but Shepard thought it best to keep the crazy bald murderess on side.

It's honestly one of the worst Paragon persuasions in the game, and given that I really like Jack, I never use it, and save Jacks Loyalty mission till last to keep both.

Would that be one of the blue options? I know I have at least 75% before starting his mission.

I wonder what would happen if I do Jack's early and side with her, then do Miranda's sister mission after, would that balance out?
Total Biscuit
You might not need so high a paragon rating prior to the disabled Collector vessel, if you do both LMs before it's triggered.

Or you could side with Mirander, as the same thing happens the other way around, so afterwards Shepard can go and regain Jack's loyalty by saying they were just telling Mirander what she wanted to hear so as to keep Cerberus onside.

And I honestly can't recall exactly how much blue paragon Zaeeds LM needs, but I'd say at least 90% to be on the safe side.
