Not that AHM was my favorite story but it makes it even more pointless if later stories undo what happens in AHM.

Death really is a mild inconvenience to some. Then again, its not like we saw him die. He could have just been really injured.
Blot
...and it looks like the Classics mold, too.
Powered Convoy
A shot to the head (?) where we don't see the results doesn't mean he's dead. Maybe Skywarp let him go after all - being old buddies and all.

Thoughts:

1) That's a beautiful image. I mean regardless of anything else, Wildman did a wonderful job there. One of the "prettiest" TF images I've seen in a long while.

2) I hope Thundercracker is alive. I thought his character development and the attention payed to his tech spec personality (for the first time EVER really) in AHM was an awful shame to waste in killing him immediately after. I just hope that if they bring him back they remember that characer development and build on it.
Moroboshi Ataru
Yep, that would have been a cop-out to have killed him immediately...he should have to live (and deal) with the ongoing consequences of his decision. Not comfortable with what the Decepticons have become, but not willing to become an Autobot, either, and not welcome, at least by some, within his own faction. It's also confirmed textually in the issue 16 letters column that Thundercracker's story will continue in the first story arc of the ongoing. ANYway, one of the things I enjoy about TFs is that death isn't necessarily permanent for them; you don't really need to have the increasingly convoluted or contrived explanations for bringing them back that you would for human comic book characters. (I LIKE when Jean came back the first time, but at this point, it's like, "Well, she's dead, but nobody claim her room! That means you, Rattrap!"). There's still the chance of a *final* death with a TF, but they're so hard to kill that, if you do finish them off permanently, it's like, "Wow, that guy really IS gone for good!" and it means he had to go through some hell of an impressive experience to do it. 'Cracker's injury is presumably not so nasty in the large scheme of things; Megatron took a blast to the face in ROTF from his own ARM, and lived. Now, if we'd seen his entire head blown off, I'd cry foul, but we never saw the 'Cracker corpse.

Considering that giving Thundercracker some characterization was one of the best things AHM did, and killing him off was one of the worst things it did, I'm perfectly fine with bringing him back.
S-Stop! Thief!
I won't care unless he gets some Autobot symbols or something.

Also, brain-damage?
Total Biscuit
Glad he's not dead.

It may have been inconsistent, and barely present, but having Thundercracker actually act like his origional, incredibly interesting bio suggested he should was something AHM was right to do, and I'd love to see more of it, especially given how cheap and counterproductive killing him was in the first place was.

Of course given the Humans actions in the ongoing, I can't really see Thundercracker feeling much sympathy for them anymore, but oh well.

Get used to it being a side effect of eternity. I hope to pick this up in the same week I grab some Superman, Green Lantern (Hal), Flash (Barry), Batman & Robin (guest starring Jason), Spiderman (although I skipped The Other), X-Men (oh hey Jean).

Considering the damage Starscream took in Infiltration, I figure any of them have an excuse to survive anything.

To be honest, when I first saw that Thundercracker I thought it was a "femmebot" Seeker...
Shinki
Yeah, he manages to actually look kinda "cute" outside of the smile.

Maybe, but some of my 8th graders can do better work. I'll never understand the respect for Wildman.
Dinogrrl
I like the background of that image, but not Cracker himself. He looks kinda blurry. Maybe it's the way he's lit. He also doesn't look like he goes with his background - like he was somewhat hastily shopped in. Bummer, as I really like Wildman's other covers so far.

Wonder what Don's will look like?

Similar, but with four times as many panel lines on TC.
Dr Syn
a rather feminine looking Thundercracker there.

Yeah, most of those designs in that splash page aren't "currently" used by the characters in Ongoing #1. I think maybe only BB and Ratchet/Ironhide keep their outfits the same. The Seekers, like most, will see some kind of change.

By the way, Don is referencing the E.J. Su F-22 Seeker designs there, right? At least, based on the shoulder intakes and pointy feet (that look like the F-22's vectoring panels).

His art was admittedly more vibrant and alive back in the eighties. Most of his new stuff generally seems to be trying to hard to look like a "regular" style.

Hey, there's some broken rocks, which means that they must be on some flying sky rocks!

Why is Devastator's head entirely green?
Sso02V
Where is Devastator's head?
Fenix Twilight
Between Grimlock's leg and Snarl's arm.

I forgot all about this spread when I asked if we've seen any Decepticons in this style.

I really like Thundercracker, I hope Starscream has this design. Ratbat is E. J. Su's design, love it.

And the Dinobots fit pretty good.
