FORESIGHT

Function:
Sky Surveillance

Motto:
“Hindsight is too late.”

Bio
Foresight is a former civil air traffic controller who was quickly enlisted by the Autobots as a radar tracker when the Decepticons gained air superiority. His main job consists of directing flight capable Autobots to targets and watching for Decepticon activity. He often teams up with Cosmos in order to increase their combined tracking efficiency. The problem with Foresight is that when he has detected a threat he becomes anxious to fight. One reason is he knows there's something out there to fight, the other is that he is always assigned sentry duty to observe from a distance and cover his allies. Millions of years of air traffic monitoring put Foresight under great mental strain. He therefore wishes the war to end fast so he can finally get some extra offline time. Also, Foresight tends to bring too much stuff with him “because it just might be needed and you should be prepared for anything”.

Strengths
At max altitude, subject is capable of detecting and keeping track of all airborne objects in a 3.500 km radius. Without atmospheric disturbance, this range is increased significantly. Subject is a skilled swordfighter who uses his radar dish as a shield in melee combat. However, he only has flares for defense in air to air combat. Maximum speed is 859 km/h. Engine pods can be used to hover in robot mode or to generate strong blasts of air that can knock over a train.

Weaknesses
Subject can get overanxious to get into battle and focus on one target, overlooking potential other threats. In contrast, keeping track of multiple targets reduces his concentration and accuracy in direct combat. Additionally, subject can only fight at close combat in robotic form. Post-combat, radar dish is prone to functional breakdowns.

Yesssssss he's AWACS. LOVE IT. I really do like the unusual asymmetrical transformation you gave him.

PS: The stats rock.

Thanks! ^.^ I usualy make symmetrical robots as well, so I wanted to try something a bit different. icon-hotrod.gif

PS: Stats always rock! >:3
Autobus Prime
Q1:

Nice! The style seems to merge a classic blocky robot with "movie-type" mechanical stuff and panels popping up for joint clearance. I like that a lot!

The asymmetry is neat...let's see, the arms go together over the body, the legs go together below it, and rotate 90 deg, and the wing chunk spins around, right? The tail would be on the back...I'm assuming the sword is part of a wing a la Wing Saber.

The radome shield is clever, too, and I suppose the post-combat unreliability would be due to impact. icon-hotrod.gif The bio is fun in general. I like quirky Transformers.

Good job!

... Did you really mean 3.5 km, or did you mean 3,500?

Pretty much, wings fold double to shorten the wingspan in robotmode. Only other thing you missed is that the sword is the vertical tail (in three sections, much like Armada Starscream's sword uses part of the wing, this uses the full tail surface). But that'd be hard to tell since I didn't add in a vehicle mode yet. icon-hotrod.gif

Come to think of it... Think I forgot to add in the horizontal tail... O.o' Meh. Consider them behind the leg (had them planned vertically alongside the legs...). ^.^"

Tramp on IDW forums complained about this too, but I use and always have used this standard "1.000.000,00" as it is common in the Netherlands. So yes, of course I meant thirtyfivehundred. 3,5 (3 and a half) would be a bit short. icon-arcee.gif Why else would I use three digits? icon-hotrod.gif

So yeah, rather than the American format which uses commas first, points second I use this one. Likewise, we write dates as day-month-year, rather than this silly American version where you do months-day-year. icon-hotrod.gif I know Microsoft and Texas Instruments been pushing the ,,,. format on other countries (damn Excel for being a pain in the arse to use because of that!), but it's not the only one around. icon-arcee.gif (PS: Stop using non-metric units. You're the confusing ones! And british should drive on the right side of the road! icon-waspy.gif)

I think that might be due to the two round thingies on his shoulders (in the orange bits), I loaned them from generic Japanese mecha. icon-hotrod.gif

The helmet may also remind a bit of non-TF, though I was going for something akin to the Cyberjets there, but different. Didn't want to do a standard face or visor and I never saw a 'n' shaped visor before (anyone else ever seen one? I'm a bit curious about that). icon-hotrod.gif

Added the obligatory vehiclemode.

I'll see if I can get the full shaded colours for both modes done by tomorrow or this weekend. icon-hotrod.gif

Updated. icon-hotrod.gif

Josh coloured the botmode (in low res), finished colours on the vehiclemode myself. =)
