As I watch the names come and go online and offline with AIM and MSN, as I chat with Minister, I realize that the internet is, in general, boring at this hour.

I also realize that I really don't want to talk to anybody. Most of my messages in this IM have been short like "lol", "ah
, "oic", "=\", etc. Otherwise, I haven't really felt the dsire to chat with any of my friends, no matter howclose I am to them or how rarely I see them online.

Has anybody else ever felt this way?

Ok, I admit I was laughing as I type this.

And the feeling you describing is why I don't use AIM anymore.

Four in the morning is great because that generally means most of the American children are asleep.

@ Firebird: I still use AIM because I do talk to a fair amount of friends during the day, it's just after a certain point, I really don't have anything to say. Not saying I'll spurn them, I'll listen to them if they have something to say, but presence of daylight in my area tends to cause my intelligence in IMs to increase and apathy to decrease.

4 am has nothing on 5:48

I've noticed, the internet is practically dead by now so I have no choice but to keep to myself.

At 4:00, I'm either sleeping, getting high (especially funny on school days), or KO'd by an old IBM computer.

Back when I worked overnights, 4 am was the tired hour, where I'd exhausted the entertainment possibilities of Adult Swim, no one to talk to online(save maybe for my friend in the Netherlands), and the desire to go home and go to bed is strongest.

For me personally 4am is great it's the last hour of being bored sitting in the guard shack alone. The closer to time for me to go home the more wired I get. There is only so much streaming videos one person can stand esp. since most of the fun sites to go to on the web are blocked by the man.

Damn that "The Man"!!! He needs some sticking it up to him.

There is no internet at 4am.

The internet sucks big time between 3 am and 6 am EST. Most people are asleep, and by 3 I've been at work for four hours and run out of interesting sites to check for new content.
