I've always been a casual fan at best. But I'm pretty hyped for this. Been watching the 2003 series again in preparation (the first five seasons).
Now, if we can get this, and the first five seasons on DVD, I'll be happy.

I work on Saturdays.

So I'll probably have to wait until the DVD release.
I have all the season 1-6 episodes on DVD, unfortunately seasons 3-4 are all on those awful random collection DVDs and not proper season sets.
Funimation dropped 4Kids only after they'd finished releasing season 1-2 in complete sets, so season 3-4 are still up in the air.
Hopefully Nick will get them out there, though they'll probably start over from the beginning.

Funimation's season sets have great packaging, but no bonus features. Which is a shame, because there were all these cool animated shorts done by Dong Woo that were on the random collection DVDs and couldn've been put on the season sets.
Hopefully Nick will include them when they start over.

Ehhhhh. It depends.
Fast Forward got cancelled prematurely, so it ends only half resolved (the Sho'Kanabo arc is completed, but the Dark Turtles are never dealt with). The show itself wouldn't been fine as maybe a 6 episode arc, but the premise runs thin quickly. So by 26 episodes, you're kind of sick of it.
I...hated Back to the Sewers and after 6 seasons, actually quit the show during it. The main arc of the season is this completely inane plot about traveling into Cyber Space and using cyber weapons to collect Splinter's "bits" that have been scattered all over the place.
It was too moronic for me to handle, so I stopped watching. It hasn't been released on DVD yet.
I wasn't even that big on season 5 because the mystic powers felt too gimmicky, but it did have a good conclusion and a nice sense of finality to it (where as, from what I understand, Back to the Sewers ends unresolved).
You're better off stopping at season 5 and only going on if you're dying for more Turtles epiodes.

From what the 4Kids rep who posts at the Technodrome has told us, it won't resolve any of the dangling plot threads from Back to the Sewers and is
supposed to be a self-contained story.
It'll take place after Back to the Sewers, though, so any character development that happened during that season will likely be present (like Casey and April being married).

Nov 4 2009, 02:05 PM
Back to the Sewers has a good finale, but it doesn't wrap up the idea presented to us in the pilot of the 'Shredder War' which is should have focused on rather then recoverign splinter (Cyberspace was interesting when dealing with Cyber Shredder and his attempts at getting a real body). Ch'rll vs Demon Shredder vs Cyber Shredder with the turtles in the middle would have been a MUCH better season.
BttS ends with Casey and April getting married and Cameos of just about every ally they've had (including those from FF).

I'm not sure about season 3 but there was a Season 4 set with all the episodes released in one package. I was disappointed that they stopped producing the DVD's, so as it stands right now I have Season 1 sets 1 & 2, Season 4, and Season 5. Season 2 sets are getting hard to come by now.
As far as BttS went it was very disappointing to never get the Shredder War but I did at least like the send off that it got. The wedding with all the cameos was at least a good way to end it.

Unfortunately, that "season 4" set that Funimation released was a bit of a lie.
It only contained the episodes from season 4 that hadn't been released on the random collection DVDs.
So Funimation's "season 4" set is incomplete and missing quite a few of the more important episodes from that season (such as the Rat King episode).

So if going by the preview there it looks as if 2k Shredder has some big plan that involves the Technodrome? And the 2k random mutant there I though was going to be a new version of Rocksteady except I see no horn. Though seeing a mohawk on it it could be a mix of the two characters. and when we see 2k April and Casey they do seem to be in their BTTS designs.

When Shredder survived Exodus Part II, I was disappointed at the time... but that's EASILY forgiven with the crossover we're having now. Three Shredders in one movie?

Actually I'm a little satisfied that we're not getting the 'Shredder Wars' now, because there's no way it could top this.

Best episode had to be the Superquest episode. Only time I really enjoyed the cyber aspect of the show. The Turtles have to play an MMO in order to rescue some Splinter data-bits. Mikey as a White Knight, Don as a Wizard (no brainer there), Leos a Changeling, and Raphs the Jester, who gets turned into a frog for most of the episode. Plus the reveal at the end about who Mikeys rival on the game was great.
