That wasn't the droid's motivator. It knew that it was going to have an upgrade to Windows 7 and it decided to initiate it's self destruct.

Ah but if the motivator was working, the droid would have been motivated to keep on going instead of killing itself to escape the upgrade.

Obviously it knows more about Windows 7 than we do.
