Sadly the novelty of the vehicle mode is about the sum total of my enjoyment of this toy.

I dunno, I like em a lot. They're hindered a little by kibble, but I find I take them off the shelve to play with more than Optimus ir Mixmaster. They absolutely need more paint apps though. I put a nice gray wash over the white parts and it helped tremendously.

Did you paint in the rust spots? That and the Reprolabels set would really help dress up their appearance. Sadly it wouldn't change most of the real issues I had, but if I'm going to just leave it sitting somewhere in vehicle mode, I might as well prioritize that.

Mudflap is awesome. Skids is merely ok.
