Anyone else getting this? I'm not a big fan of Tekken; I don't dislike it at all but my interests lie elsewhere (Street Fighter and other Capcom fighting games). I did quite enjoy Tekken 5 though so I plan on getting this one too.

I can't wait to resume my dominance over everybody else in my social circle. Street Fighter is my first love but I'm actually better at Tekken.
(I look forward to these games because there's usually a one-month or so period, right when they come out, that my friends will actually play against me. Then I'm stuck playing one-player)

Meh, i'll wait for it to go on discount, played one tekken you've played them all.
Normally i'd be drawn to a sequel of a fighting game by the addition of new characters or moves or something, but nothing in Tekken 6 is really peeking my interest.

I'm a huge fan of Tekken so I am definetly getting it, I'm suprised after watching several of the trailers that the series has come a long way. Alot of changes as well, still looks like loads of fun though.

I'd love to get it, but I don't know if I can afford it right now.
Since I don't own a PS3, I'll probably have to settle for the PSP version... are there any differences between the two?

Obviously theres a graphical standpoint but if it plays anything like the last tekken psp game your solid. That one still had a story mode as well as the other things that the console had.

Preordered it ages ago, dying to play it.
Looks great, but I wish they'd put a character creation mode in there. And tag.
I barely play SF4, just don't like the feel of it.
I'll be playing it with my Street Fighter Ken pad.

odd...i felt tekken 5 was the worst in the series due to crap collision detection when compared to 3-4-tag
i found in tekken 5 i would get hit even when the character wasnt that close to me and even tho i was blocking! also the cheapness of the unblockable moves was pretty low
i liked the look of tekken 5 but didnt like the feel of it if that makes any sense
hopefully tekken 6 will be good but ill wait till its been out awhile and its on reduced price. i just feel 40+ for beat-em-ups is asking to much because the appeal wears off pretty quickly with those types of games

Wouldn't most people want the cheapness of an unblockable move to be pretty low?
Anyways, seeing the tv commercials reminds me that I need to preorder this bad boy. I probably wouldn't have if it wasn't for the Yoshimitsu CTS skin that Gamestop is offering.

Yeah, but Soul Calibur IV had unblockable atacks, plus the ability to destroy the armor of your opponent's charcter.
And I'm glad I didn't get the pre-order. Cardboard Tube Samurai is not serious to be in a game like this one.

Soul Calibur has always had unblockable attacks. So has the Tekken series. It's a fairly common part of fighting games. Where are we going with this and the "cheapness" of fighting games?
EDIT: I mean the level of "cheapness" for unblockable moves, not fighting games. Way to go, me.

Tekken's nuttiness is one of the reasons I like it so much.
Wish this one was Tag, I'm gonna find it hard to pick a main character out of 41. It'd be great if you could use team battle online, doubt you can though.

I thought this came out like two years ago. Or was that the arcade one? I love Tekken. 3, 5, and Tag team are my favorites. I wonder how many moves they've added to Yoshimitsu's inventory.

No, Gon was a one-time deal, apparently.
And honestly, that's like asking "how many ways can you sell the public on a game about the finals of a fantasy starring excessively effeminate male protagonists and music by Nobuo".
People like certain genres of games. People like certain game series. People enjoy playing the new characters with the new fighting styles. People enjoy seeing the improvement to the game engine.

Bought it today...I dont mind the 6-8 minute recap of all things previously established...but WTF is up with this Tekken force type game play to establish a full out story, and unlock everyone?
I LIKED the way they did it in all the previous ones with little cinematics for each person before and after, whihc you get when you actually get to use the people you unlock..don't care much for this other thing though.

You don't have to play it to unlock everyone. Everyone is selectable in the arcade mode (and I would assume online) when you first insert the disc. You just have to unlock them for use in the Scenario mode, which is also where you unlock their cinematic by using them in the arena. When I first started playing the Scenario mode I hated it to, but now I find it oddly addicting. It seems to support two players, so maybe it plays even better that way?

It's not only cooler, but more original too.
I used to have a boxing game on a floppy disk, from when they were
actually floppy, that had kangaroos as playable characters, to say nothing of the Looney Tunes cartoons. When before Tekken was there ever a boxing velociraptor?

Got the game today. Loving it.
The fights seem to flow nicely.
Time will tell if I end liking it as much as Tekken 3 (my all time fave). I don't like the way the fighters are so big on screen, T5 was the same, but its a minor issue.
Scenario campaign is a mixed bag. Sometimes its fun, but I hate the constant having to press the select opponent button, and trying to get to chickins or a downed partner whie its in 2d control mode is a nightmare. The story is like a mental anime but I like it.

The new Tekken Force Scenario Mode is actually a lot of fun. I just got to Feng's stage and stages are becoming kinda repetitive now but being able to customise and improve the stats of your character really keeps it interesting.

Eh, the tournament option is still the "main" game. The Tekken Force minigame have been around since 3 I think. But I'm not sure how often its been used since then.
Either way. Tekken sure have a lot of minigames. I suspect one of these days you'll unlock "Tekken Cart" after clearing a game with the training dummy.
