Hey, not bad work! Just gonna ask two questions on the Wasp toy. First, was the mottling effect deliberate? I mean, it looks ok, but I'm just wondering. Secondly, were you planning on putting the yellow stripe pattern Wasp has on some of his robot parts at some point?
I personally didn't like the stripes so much, so I left them out. Yes, the mottled effect was deliberate, and an attempt at dyeing the yellow plastic green. The process if it may be called such adds a marbled look which is really nice up close. I used a dark green Sharpie permanent marker in a swirl pattern with multiple coats. It doesn't work as well with other colors, but very nice with yellow to green. There is no paint to rub off of joints during transformation. After about a week of drying the permanent marker doesn't come of on your fingers either unless your hands sweat a lot. I was very happy with the outcome.
I have read the piece on fixing the stingers, but I just didn't bother. I may eventually. I did do my Bumblebee if you can tell in the picture of him chasing Wasp. Wasps head is a modified Bumblebee head, and so is Cliffjumpers, just turned upside down. As for his color, since the pics I went back with a fine brush and filled in all the spots that show yellow, and used another coat of Red Sharpie. It looks better now, but red over yellow doesn't cover as well. If I go back over another couple times, the plastic may soak up enough red to look good.
Elite Guard BB is my 3yr old sons, and he didn't like the Black head. He asked me to make it gold, so I did. I like it better myself too.
