The season of small, semi-useless teaser pictures has begun once again!

Mawile
I'm glad that for once a "screaming" face actually looks how it's supposed to.
Omega-Tron
Headshot is cool...makes me want more pics though.
Powered Convoy
Yes I need to see more, Botcon was just the preamble. They did say at Botcon his mouth would move, and he'd speak - just what he would say was not deteremined yet.

Now this looks like an instant buy from me, it's much too awesome to pass up! icon-silverbolt.gif

Now we just need feet and toes.
Esser-Z
Awesome.
Robogeek1973
More pics.

Esser-Z
He looks great.
Robogeek1973
I assume it's ok to put those up because others were posted as well, if not someone let me know and I'll remove them.

Bought, bought, bought, bought, bought.

Between this and Leader Prime, damn, those engineers at Takara better have gotten huge bonuses. I can't believe how accurate they've managed to get the toys to the onscreen models. It's like, physical impossibility made reality.
Wingus
Does look nice. Wish he was Blackout, though. icon-screamer.gif
Nevermore
I longer how long until Hasbro has these pics taken down. icon-hotrod.gif

They seem to be photographed of a screen. Is this a Hasbro/Takara video conference? Did someone hack into the stream? Or what?
racerx
Yes, please!

I'd like a shot of his alt-mode, though.
MightyMegs
I just looked at my leader class Megatron, and burst into tears.
Magnus
Wow, that's pretty sick. Definitely bought.

Yeah, while not a deal breaker for me I REALLY hope Screamer's jet mode is better than Jetfire's is!

People are saying that it's from one of the special features on the RotF BluRay, so it should be on the up and up.

As for the jet mode, people at BotCon said it looked pretty clean, so take that as you will.

Why? Someone has to be there to grind their tread feet into his chest...

Besides, Megatron suffers the same design change problems as most of the Movie 1 figures. Leader Megs is ridiculously accurate to the original design sketches for him. Just that further down the road, they added the tank shell and wings, and beefed up his left arm a bit.

Even then, the toy is quite accurate, minus the arms, in robot mode.
Mawile
So, you push the cockpit down to open the mouth?
Rosicrucian
Yeah, I'm still very pleased with RotF Leader Megatron, possibly due to the fact that he is not Movie Leader Megatron.
Moroboshi Ataru
Wow, really awesome how they made this guy and Prime more slender and dangerous-looking this time around...this is utilizing the added design freedom/budget of the Leader price point to its full extent. Makes me glad that I resisted the Voyager Starscream (Which is no longer available here, anyway.), as much as the upcoming Buster Prime makes me glad for waiting on the first ROTF Leader Optimus.

Could be worse. He could be movie Voyager Megatron.

Agreed they are working some great voo-doo magic!

Daggor
That is a very nice looking figure.
Octavius Prime
Looks like his torso is flexible. Huh.

Probably a transformation joint. Still should make him look a little more fluid.

I like the molded Decepticon sigil.

In reference to the scale sheet, it looks like we finally have some more Soundwave concept art. I can't tell if this robot mode is based off of the truck or the satellite. I'm guessing that, based on the lack of big panels, it's truck Soundwave.

Yeah, I noticed that. I love those sorts of shoulder joints. Allows for a lot of poses with personality. Transmetal 2 Scourge was awesome as a result.
Smitty
It looks like his gauntlets open up to have the guns come out. I'm tempted...
mx-01 archon
Yeah, he's supposed to have the flip-out rocket launcher and gatling from the movies.
CatSCAN PhD
I'm just really pumped about how beefed up/strong/powerful the legs look instead of the usual spindle-y-ness. The pop out arm launchers are pretty amazing though, too.

If only they could have done up The Fallen and Blackout while they were at it...and maybe Demolisher...and a Voyager Bonecrusher (I still want this!)

It's just awesome what the higher price points can do for these film designs. ROTF Prime, Leader Brawl, and this Starscream especially.
mx-01 archon
Yeah, the spindly, stumpy, wideset legs on the Voyager really throw off the toy's looks. I really like how accurate it generally is, but the legs just mess the whole thing up. As a result, I don't like the toy as much as I would have otherwise.
Dake
I really need to see F-22 mode. I want a clean alt-mode. Please, please, please...
mx-01 archon
I'd imagine around as clean as the Voyager, but probably managing to stow his claws at least.

I agree about the legs, they're what stopped me from buying him originally. Well, that and the fact his torso just looks WAY bigger than it needs to be. The Leader version's torso just looks a lot better to me and he doesn't look nearly as fat as the Voyagers do, at least in my eyes. icon-ball.gif
mx-01 archon
I think if the Voyager had bulkier, more proportional legs, it would help the torso look better, too. The Movie 1 Starscream mold worked out pretty well on that front. It was the jet mode that killed that one (and to a lesser extent, the gun-arms).

Yeah I agree, while the jet mode sucked terribly the bot mode(minus those "hands") was really nice.
Treadshot 2.0
That's extremely bought.

Cool, now the new pics make me want more pics. icon-hotrod.gif

Yeah, I'm hard to please. icon-arcee.gif

Didn't see anyone mention it (although it's on the front page), but what's the story on "The Plague"? Or, "The Plaque" if you go to TFW.

The outline is pretty clearly a Robot Protoform, but the notes mention "no alt mode, combined robot." Is the Protoform shadow just a placeholder for something that never materialized? Or are we to assume that the Plague is the Protoform army from the end of the movie and they can combine in some way (that we never see)?

Also, I was glad to see that Ransack's toy is in fact in scale with many of the other Decepticons like Fallen and Soundwave.

I'll be waiting for a repaint. I already have ROTF Voyager Starscream. Even at a leader class size, if he's in the exact same color scheme as a toy I already own, I would feel underwhelmed. But a Thundercracker repaint would do me just fine.

Don't count on a repaint. Last movie only two leaders got a repaint Prime and Brawl. I'm sure Prime wil get one this time also and I think Jetfire will be the other for the combining thing...

Bass - I'm hoping he'll be in silver, like the Deep Space exclusive from Target is. I won't care if he has the tattoos or not, but I won't like it if he's the same muddy cement color of the ROTF Voyager mold. Also, If it does get repainted into another Seeker, I'm putting my money on Skywarp. He very frequently gets priority over Thundercracker. Another Possibility if Starscream's G1 colors.

And Smitty, don't forget that this toy probably won't be released until early fall of next year. That means that ROTF is supposed to go from late May 2009 to at least Fall 2010 - and don't be surprised if there will be some SSpring 2011 releases, either, which would allow for space for another Leader repaint. And anyway, each of the three leader molds from the 2007 Movie line got repainted at least once (Prime did twice), so if ROTF is a longer line, why can't that mean that its additional leader mold also get a repaint?

Prime got Nightwatch & Premium - both of which were different in USA & Japan
Brawl had Desert
Megatron had Premium

I'm tending to think at least 2 of the 4 Leader figures will get recolored.

Randy
Nighthawk.
there is only one ththt will stop me getting this , the awesomeness of the vehicle form apart from that defenite buy icon-ironhide.gif

I wonder how much of this prototype's features will make it to the final toy, considering what Prime lost.

...what DID he lose?
Blot
Prime's tires were meant to collapse "thinner", his step would have unfolded to be more flush in robot mode, and he appeared to have articulated fingers.

That's all.
