I don't collect Hotwheels at all anymore, but I liked the various slightly-larger-than-normal-Hotwheels Batman vehicles that started showing up. I picked up the Adam West Batmobile, the Batman the Animated Series Batmobile and after much hunting finally found the '89 movie Batmobile (at Times Square TRU), but I hadn't been able to find the '89 Batwing or Super Friends Batmobile anywhere.

Well, eureka (of sorts), I finally found them. The downside - and this may be old news to everyone but me - is the Batwing is nearly all plastic! I figured since the rest of the cars all have fair amounts of die-cast the Batwing would too, but nope. The only bit of metal is the top half of the main fuselage. It's not like I expected metal wings mind you (throwing star anyone?), but at least metal everything else. It looks nice, but seems very flimsy.

Then, the Super Friends Batmobile seems like something you'd get in a box of Crackerjacks. Very thin metal on top, loose wheels and thin plastic on bottom. Sitting next to the Adam West or Animated Batmobile, it's hard to believe these came from the same manufacturer.

Ah well, they look ok on display, but aren't as nice as I'd hoped. I guess just a heads up to folks out there not to kill yourselves finding them maybe?

There is the (I think)Ertl line that has even more Batmobile from the comics. I have been looking for the 70s/80ish one with the Batman symbol on the hood
oops its Corgi
