Full Version: Any chance we get a Wiimake of the Rogue Squadron trilogy?

Including the N64 version all updated in widescreen and 480p like they did with the Metroid Prime trilogy?
ExVee
Man, I was just thinking about this earlier. Though in the short term I should buy a GC controller and Rogue Squadron 2 and just make do.

I loved the hell out of those first two games.
Jealous Beauty
Already got the controller and the GC game, but I'd actually pay for a Wiimake of the trilogy.
Paladin
I'd settle for just having the original on Virtual Console.
Jealous Beauty
I imagine your memory of the original game is fonder than the reality. The graphics are really crude by the Wii's standards. I think the entire trilogy deserves a facelift. The original could use a Resident Evil REmake-style overhaul.
ExVee
Graphics aren't everything. Though I have always wanted to see Rogue Squadron with the memory expansion cart, it was always the gameplay that drew me to that game.
Arsenal
As long as its the first one and not the terrible sequels.
Jealous Beauty
Rogue Leader was my favorite.

They were working on a forth one for Wii before they shut down:

There was a rumour of a compilation last year:
http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/08/rumor-en...ogy-due-on-wii/

I would love to see the first done in Rebel Strike quality graphics (though F5's CEO said they would do stuff people didn't think was possible on the Wii) and see additions like co-op and ships from the sequels.

Absolute truth.

The only reason I'd want to play with the New Jedi Order timeline is for the Stealth-X. Other than that, I'd rather stay in the trilogy era. XD

I don't necessarily want the NJO but some other timeline besides the OT would be nice. Heck i could go for a Clone Wars Era Space sim. We haven't gotten to fly the V-19 or the CW era V wing yet have we. Or the pretty new version of the Y-wing icon-silverbolt.gif

Or even if not the NJO, the New Republic era has some different variations at least. If they do make any ground missions you could have part of Wraith Squadron do it. And why not do the same as the X-wing series. Why not do a game on the Imps best and brightest, the 181st with How Baron Fel turned it around. Man so many things they could do. I'd do anything to get away from doing another Hoth mission.

There's a rumour Lucasarts has a completed Wii Rogue Squadron.

I need screenshots. I'd love to have another game in the same vein as X-Wing Alliance. I dunno how I'd like a new Rogue Squad game.....

Maybe it will include Battle for Naboo too.
MrBlud
I'd love some updated graphics but it's still bought even if it's just the games.
spikeriley
Now that's a good idea. however, it would be up to Lucasarts to decide if they want to make it.

Here's a blast from the past: the battle of Mon Calmari from Rogue Squadron.
Part One

Part Two

It's the very same one from the graphic Novel Dark Empire.

Visualise how a new one could work:
Mon Calmari may look alot closer to Kotholis from Rogue Leader, only a archipelago with villages dotted around and this time there may be boats and turrets defending the cities too while Mon Calmari Star Cruisers (most likely reuses of the liberty and Home One) evacuate them.
The battle may extend further then this, in the comic, the Rebel Fleet arrives and faces a Imperial blockade, the Rebel ships were the same as the ones in the battle of Endor with Escort Frigates, Blockade Runners and Transports and in addition to these are captured Star Destroyers, and the Imperial fleet was a Super Star Destroyer and a few Star Destroyers. Toward the end there's a ground battle where Amphibions unload Rebel commandos onto them for a strike.
