DarkDestroyer
After being struck by a truck, John Corben wakes up alone in an abandoned apartment as a man-machine with a kryptonite heart. Corben realizes he now has superhuman strength and sets out to exact revenge on the Red-Blue Blur, who he perceives to be an irresponsible vigilante. Against Clark's wishes, Lois involves herself in the Red-Blue Blur's investigation, and winds up getting kidnapped by Corben.

As an interesting note there is a character in this episode called...Stephen Lobo...the only reason I bring him up is of course the last name. I doubt this is a Smallville version of the Main Main but one never knows. Since this episode deals with John Corben and Metallo I doubt we'll get further explaination of Lois's dreams or the event that takes place a year from now. Should be fun...

well this proves it, Smallville follows the "el is for Luthor" storyline where Superman is from the distant future, not a distant planet... Sorry Lawyered up descendants no money for you.

Superman Red Son was an elseworlds where Clark landed in communist Russia instead of Kansas and became a loyal ruskie Superman, fighting a patriotic Lex Luthor during the cold war. In the end, Luthor's far distant descendants (having long ago changed their name to 'L') are in the ruling class of civilization as the planet dies beneath them and the sun has turned red. They warn of the pending destruction of the world but nobody listens, and as a last resort they send their only son away in a rocket which winds up going back in time and landing in Soviet Russia. Woo, time loop. icon-waspy.gif

So was mine, and seeing your location is Connecticut, it was probably the same station. They aired it on Saturday at 6 PM.

Interestingly, that whole "Krypton is future Earth, and Superman came back in time" thing was one of the original origin concepts for the character. It's older than the "Krypton is another planet and Superman is an alien" one.

That would certainly clarify the 'man of tomorrow' moniker he sometimes uses.

I thought it was an interesting direction to take the show... but again that isn't where they're going.
