Didn't buy Public Enemies, so I had to wait until this showed up online to watch the preview.
Looks interesting, though some questionable casting to be certain. Billy Baldwin isn't good enough to flip burgers at Wendy's, let alone voice
Batman. I'm all over James Woods as Owlman, even if it might have some humorous side effects that are unavoidable when James Woods plays *anything*.
What I REALLY thought was hilarious, though, was the portrayal of Vibe. He's all sideways baseball cap blinged-out droopy pants wigger of the year. That about describes Vibe in a nutshell, at least from a modern point of view. It's either gonna be incredible or embarassing, depending on how much screen time they give him.

I agree with you DrSpengler, Billy Baldwin as Batman was a poor choice...if they wanted someone other than Conroy they should have gone with guy who played Batman in The New Frontier (Sisto) or Ron Perlman.
That aside, the movie looks good so far.

Actually they didn't have a preview for this on Public Enemies that I saw so I'm glad it's out somewhere. I'll pry buy this for sure since I love alternate reality takes and I really haven't passed up a DCAU movie yet.

Isn't Vibe Latino? How can he possibly be a... that word you used there, since the "w" part of it stands for "white." (What the rest of it stands for is why I'd suggest you perhaps reconsider such casual usage of it.)

I didn't think anybody on this board took that word in slight since it was used loosely and harmlessly in multiple threads regarding Skids and Mudflap from ROTF.
But if it offends anybody; my apologies.

Bruce Timm posted on Toonzone regarding this movie. It's about 95% the script that was written for a Justice League DTV that was to take place between Starcrossed and JLU. Since the execs at WB had no interest in revisiting the DCAU, they decided to adapt the script as a stand-alone.

I would've just switched Mark Harmon and Billy Baldwin. I mean Harmon pretty much already plays Batman on NCIS. . .
I can just picture him breezing through the JLA Watchtower, not breaking stride, barking at the others to "Grab your gear."

I can't wait for this movie. James Woods as Owl-Man is awesome. I agree about William Baldwin, but the casting choices are part of the diversity mandate that they have for these DVD's which is why we keep seeing different actors voicing different incarnations of the characters we all know and love. I hate how Ultraman looks, I much prefer the Ultraman from JLA Earth 2, this one seems to be based off of the Pre-Crisis Ultraman. It will be interesting to see the rest of the cast. Mark Hamon is a good choice for Superman. Bruce Davison is playing the President. Gina Torres as Superwoman.

But Mark Harmon as Superman? 15 years ago, I'd've liked to see him playing Superman in live action.

Swamp Thing actually made a cameo in the Christmas episode of Justice League. When John and Shayera go to that alien planet, Swamp Thing can be seen walking behind them in one scene.
Apparently they didn't have access to any Vertigo characters, so they had to "sneak" him into the series (there's also a Swamp Thing poster on the wall of the teenager's bedroom in the JLU episode where the DnD nerds bring Grundy back from the dead).
Though, admittedly, a full-on Swamp Thing appearance would have blown my mind. Swamp Thing deserves better than that crappy 5-episode Captain Planet rip-off he had in the early 90s...

Yes, but that's irrelevent so far as his licensing is concerned. He's now a Vertigo character so if anyone wants to use him they have to go through Vertigo's very own field of red tape.
That's why Swamp Thing was only able to make the tiniest of cameos in Infinite Crisis #6 (only his arm), because even DC has to get special permission to use Vertigo characters (Constantine hasn't crossed over with mainstream DC in forever).
I think the last real blatant appearance of a Vertigo character in a DC title was Daniel/Sandman's cameo in JSA (prior to that, it was his big story arc in JLA by Grant Morrisson).
EDIT:
Scratch that. Didn't Rorschach make a brief appearance on a splash page getting smacked by Dark Knight Returns Batman in an issue of Countdown?

Yeah don't know where you're getting your information from. The only reason Swamp Thing isn't used in DC animated and mainstream toy lines is because he is considered a Vertigo character and therefore 'mature'. DC doesn't want to open up the can of worms of letting him used and then a kid picks up a copy of Saga of Swamp thing and see him banging his human girlfriend.
His use in the main DCU or more so lack of is a editoral mandate, keeping him Vertigo centric to not confuse people. Thus he appears in multiverse stories from time to time but not in the main universe.

LOL! a veggie getting it on with a hot human chick, now that is priceless. Ok so i think your right about DC animation not using the popular walking mound of vegetables and plants. Perhaps it's time that Warner should do Vertigo/DC animated movies for adults with Yoshiaki Kawajiri ("Wicked City", "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust" and "Ninja Scroll") doing a Swamp Thing anime movie.

That's more what I meant by "red tape", the editorial mandates keeping Vertigo and DC seperate even though they inhabit the same Universe (the recent Swamp Thing series, right before it got cancelled, was dealing with some fall-out from the Inifinite Crisis, mostly in regards to the Floronic Man).
Vertigo and DC used to crossover all the time when Vertigo was fairly new. Now, though, they keep their distance from one another, which bugs me a little.
