Anyone here have access to this new "revolutionary communications tool?"
I am curious what people think about it. It seems interesting.
Of course if anyone has a spare invite.....

I can see how it might be useful for some, but I've been a member since
the Grand Central days and have little to no use for it short of giving the
number to people who I don't ever want to talk to but would like to get info
from occasionally.

I think you're confusing Google Wave with Google Voice.

I would love to get an invite, I think it might be useful in my organization

So is it just an all-in-one communications client that you'd install on a PC or mobile device? Or is it an actual mobile device? I couldn't quite get it.

It's an "online productivity/collaboration" application. It lets you share and edit documents, "instant" photo sharing, IM, threaded email, etc. Definitely a PC app. It's like Gmail meets Flickr meets Google Docs.

It's not intended for Desktops only. At all. In the original demonstration, they made a point of involving an iPhone or Android device in whatever they were showing.
I'm sorta desperate for an invite. Which is. . . odd. I'd just really like to try it out.

I have a feeling this is quickly going to turn into an "I need an invite" thread.
BTW...I would like one too, please. :-)

Perish the thought.
This always was an "I need an invite" thread.

I guess they must be doing another wave (ah-hem) of invites, because I just got mine. Hard to do too much with it when the people you communicate with aren't on there too, but it's fun to play around with for now.

I really don't understand why invites are always needed but hey, can anyone throw me a bone?

It's not even in Beta yet. If they let everyone have an account at the same time, the whole thing would crash and burn.

You know. They should do "Google War". An RTS game wich makes use of Google Maps.
The tagline being: "The enemy can also see your house from here".
Anyway. Really amusing videos... Wait, whas that Amadinehjad?

I'd love to get one too, but apparently these are more difficult to come by than GMail invites were.

Finally got onto wave. It is rather boring with no contacts. When they give me invites, I will give everyone in this thread one who still wants one.

My brother is looking for an invite and so am I. I'd love to play around with this. He'd definitely have more use for it than I would though. I dunno why though since he doesn't do business oriented things but right now he's messing with that phone service thingie.
