ive been looking forward to this game for a while now.. and the demo is finally up

i played through it and i gotta say, i like what i see.

cant wait to sink my teeth into the full game.

I was iffy about this game but the story is enthralling and the dialog had me laughing the entire time.

I'd give my thoughts on it, but despite being a Gold account on Live, since I don't live in North America I have to wait another week for it. A fact we only found out yesterday evening, and one that doesn't have any justification beyond "'cause".

Arseholes. Coupled with the generally appathetic response I've heard in regard to the demo by those who were judged somehow worthy to play it, and this game has slipped from a buy-on-release to might pick it up when it's cheap and I have little better to do.

Yeah, not happy about it, and it's nice to know us UK users are so valued. Next year they can take their subscription and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

I'm definitely going to give this a try.

i was sold before i knew anything about the game beyond the fact that its from the makers of psychonauts.

I was very interested before the demo. After playing the demo, well, I'm just hooked. Controls are spot frikken on, the graphics are great, the dialog kept me in stitches, and the music, God, the music.

I have never wanted a video game soundtrack like I want this one. hugging awesome.

I loved the mature content option menus that popped up during the beginning intro. I was kinda expecting it to force you into the swearing and gore even if you said no, but I guess there is going to be gore and non gore versions of the cut-scenes now:P

I need to download this. I've been psyched about this game ever since I read about it in GI what seems like 2 1/2 years ago. I don't want to plunk down $60 and be disappointed. And by the sounds of everybody here, the demo does kick a sufficient amount of ass.

Well the demo is up on UK Live but it's a bit strange, if I browse to the demo on my comp it says that it's free, but if I go to Game Marketplace on my 360 it's a gold member exclusive .

yeah, its a 'gold member exclusive' or some such.. until later in the month ( though the game comes out in, what, 12 days? i dont understand teh logic behind not letting as many people as possible play the demo )

Well i played thorugh it, and i gotta say....its like every single drawing that was on the back of my english notebook in High School has come to life.

I cant wait to play the full thing, this demo changed my opinion from "Eh, maybe when its on sale" to "OMFG GET NAOW" Is it weird that i was headbanging during most of the game?
Its great, every aspect even the fight with the spiny vagina thing, what dont think thats what it looks like? Load it up and look at it upside down next time you play. But it was a vehicle combat type boss and honestly those type of boss fights leave me bored, and this was still exciting.

No question it was a vagina. First thing my wife said when I was playing through the demo.
"Are you fighting a monster p****y?"
Yes, I am.
"Cool."

And don't feel bad, I was nodding along to the beat the entire game.

aside from that, there apparently is a giant vagina monster in the game

watched some of the dem-o-thon thing they streamed live from their studio today, they mentioned it a few times.

Hehe, the release coincides with my vacation(not planned that way, just a lucky coincidence) so I'll be playing it quite a bit that week

i was in bestbuy today and i saw a brutal legend record case like the one from the menu screen in the demo. apperantly thats the packaging for the best buy version of the collectors edition.

I am sooooooo disappointed that there's no PC version on the immediate horizon. Sad Panda iz meh.

There isn't a collector's edition, just the Best Buy preorder extra is the record case.

You could always get the guitar code on eBay. I got my Sgt. Johnson code that way.

gotta pick mine up after work today, i got the message to pick up the pre-order yesterday. And usually it would be that monotone female voice confirming i can pick it up, but this time it was Jack Black. Which was a little more than jarring when iam zonked out from cold medicine

though... the metal may have been too much for me, since playing ive developed a fever ( no, really XD my wifes been sick the last few days )

So far I'm having a great time playing. It's a really good, solid game with the greatest soundtrack of all time.

Wow, Tim Schafer has tricked me into liking an RTS....I HATE RTS"S but i love this goddamned game!!!!

Just beat General Rob Halford and ive still got the whole second half of the map to open up, so far i havent ran into anything thats been overwhelming, but i have died a few times thanks to my inability to recognize when Eddie's low on health, other then that iam just having too much fun runnin aroudn destroying stuff.

This game was great up until the part in the demo where you drive the car and fight the giant worm.

Okay, the Deuce is not a warthog, I can't blame it for handling differently, but I hate not being able to see the worm verywell, and I'm having an awful time turning the car with the handbrake.

B button is your friend, you can turn on a dime with that

yeah B button has saved my ass a few times.

you also get some 'performance packages' later on that help out somewhat.

man i love this game. the stage battles are a little confusing at first, but i seem to be doing alright for myself.

I am enjoying killing goths. Not nearly as fun as it'd be popping ravers, but I'll take what I can get.

B button is not working for me. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to let go of the trigger before I hit B?

No, keep the trigger down, but hold B and then move the stick. Should send you into a controlled skid in the direction you pushed.

OK.. so i just cleared the pleasure palace, and diviculas stabbed larz. now there are giant demons everywhere and its just telling me ' mobilize the troops' not really sure what that means or what im supposed to do...

also: tim curry as diviculas is awesome.

You need to drive and hope you don't get stuck by rubble or those bastard demons. That's all it is, a driving/obstacle avoiding course.

Good luck, it took me forever to find the right turns to make to get through.

Still rockin out tho, just picked up a Solo that crashes a Zeppelin to the ground when i play it. But i still find my self getting overwhelmed and hoping i can gain just barely enough fans to summon some more head-bangers

I am getting really pissed off in the band fight at the dry ice mine. hugging HIGHLIGHT to view:
Drowned Ophelia keeps jumping on a damned reaper horse and one shotting myself and my squads. I can't hugging keep up with her and it's really making me mad.

Just a heads up. Somewhere is a torrent with the entire soundtrack to the game. As I've not heard word of an official release, that's as good as we're going to get right now.
