Ironbite
So season 5's started thursday and it's in high gear. Here's my thoughts.

Finally saw this episode last night and let me say...AWSOME! Every little bit of this show just keeps getting better and better. I mean that too. The bits of exposition, the fight sequences with the demons...god damn. And of course, the Angels can just go hug themselves.

Ironbite-honestly....can't wait for the rest of the season.
Cybersnark
I especially loved Zack's facial expression when Cas turned up alive and well.

'Cause if the angels didn't resurrect him, and Lucifer is busy, then the only one who could've is The Guy the angels have been actively undermining for the past few millennia. Looks like the Cat's come home and found the Rats plotting treason.

Yes. That was compleatly awsome. HIGHLIGHT to view:
Cass comes back, wastes two angels, and tells Zack to fix the Winchesters. Compleatly awsome.

Ironbite-wonder how they're gonna stop Armageddon though.

Won't be in this thread much because I still need to rent and watch season four, but I was to echo that this is the best WB/CW show in forever. Yup.
Omaps321
Ever since the last season this is the show I eagerly await for each week. (Used to be Heroes.)
BTW who is Meg?
I'm so glad Cas is still alive. He's one of my faves.
Ironbite
You guys know what this is.

HIGHLIGHT to view:
Meg's one of the "Children Of Azazel, the big bad from the first 2 seasons. He got really upset when he heard she got exorised. Really upset. She came back in...season 2 I want to say possessing Sam and framing him for the murder of another hunter.

She's had a real hard on for the Winchesters.

Ironbite-helpful no?

Its about damn time the fall shows started again. I've been missing new tv shows as of late.

I really liked how Satan was screwing with that poor dude whom he(she??) took over.
The baby crying who wasn't there, and the bleeding crib were awesome.
Genuinely creepy, they were freaking the wife out enough she had to go check on our kid.

I'm looking forward to good things out of this season's Super Natural. icon-hotrod.gif

I'll bet gods ultimate goal with armageddon is to destroy the angels and replace them with men. It would be a hoot if thta trickster from some eps turned out to be their god and he's done this all for kicks.
skankerzero
finally.

loved the opener.

Seems to be the final season, but the Winchester boys signed on for a possible 6th season.
Ironbite
Welp Good God Ya'll is in the books and here's my impressions.

Sam and Dean....you two are just awful. Just hugging awful when it comes to trusting one another. But all in all..this will be a good thing cause we get more Dean/Castiel interaction. And Sam going off on his own should be interesting as well. But seriouslly, this is twice they've broken up. It's getting old.

Ironbite-and the Horsemen are coming...wonder if Ric Flair will play Death.
Esser-Z
"Greatest show on the CW" sounds like damning with faint praise. icon-waspy.gif

well its not like they've set the bar very high you know?
This season of smallville might be good, but other then that what else do they have right now?
A bunch of teeny Beverly hills type stuff, oh and the vampire show that is on before supernatural..what do they call that twilight the tv series???? I saw one ep of it and could care less
So how about"the least crappy thing CW has put out so far this season"
Tornadron
I liked the exchange between Dean and Castiel at the very start regarding god.
Dean: "Try new Mexico I hear he's on a tortilla."
Castiel: "No he's not on any flatbread."

At first I thought this was another Croatoan demon virus episode but they gave it away too early.
Ironbite
And Free to be You and Me in the books. And yeah...here's some spoilers for ya'll.

HIGHLIGHT to view:
SAM IS LUCIFER'S VESSEL!?

Didn't see that one coming though I did have an inkling of it after the revelation of Dean's status on heaven's hierarchy. But come on....really? That's just kinda...weaksauce.

Still a good episode and it shows that Sam can't leave the life behind. At all. Ever. He's just too damn good at it. He feels too damn much as well. Which will probably help him not at all when Satan comes acalling.

Ironbite-if that makes any sense.

I love Cass...i really do.

One thing that puzzled me about Supernatural is the demon slaying, they cn kill them with the colt or Rubys knife and yet it's never been explained why they go for vital areas of the host. The boys slit throats, stab the heart, shoot through the head and have never tried none vital areas except maybe Allistair who proved immune to the knife.
Cybersnark
Haven't we seen that non-vital wounds won't kill the demon? Remember when (Sam?) shot Azazel-in-John in the leg, and Azazel vacated the host.
Ironbite
And here's another thing that makes me question. If the boys are "killing" demons with the colt and the knife, where do they go exactly?

Ironbite-Cause they have to go somewhere.
Cybersnark
I think they just cease to exist (as happens to Angels when they die). They certainly don't go back to Hell, because we've seen how quickly a "banished" demon can claw its way back out again.
Ironbite
Well that's an interesting ending.

So here's your spoilers. Sam said yes. That's right. Moron did what everybody was warning him not to do. One wonders just why he said yes but he said yes. Dean goes super-commando with only touches of his former personality intact and everybody dies. Literally.

I have to say that that's just...special. Really. The future is ruled over by Sam in a white suit. Just....yeah.

So here's some thoughts, we've got a glimsp at what could happen. But I think because FutureDean didn't have Sam to counter him, he turned into a dick. And because Sam didn't have Dean there, Lucifer got his meat to wear to the prom. Now is the winter of our discontent and gods only knows how things will go from here.

Ironbite-next week's gonna be a gas though...MURDEROUS GHANDI FOR THE WIN!
Ironbite
Fallen Idol's in the books and I loved this episode. I seriouslly do. Not too much on the whole end of the world storyline that's ebeen going on but like last seasons black and white episode, it's nice to see Sam and Dean getting back to doing some good old fashioned monster hunting. And who's the culprit this time? Well I thought it was a bunch of ghosts at first but it turns out the culprit is none other then...Paris Hilton. Trust me it makes sense when you see the episode. But that's not the important thing. The most you get out of this ep is the begining of the mending and strengthening of Sam and Dean's relationship that's been seriouslly torn. That's more important then....well you'll see.

Ironbite-and from the previews I saw....this season gets even more and more wackier....I CAN'T WAIT!
lightsyder
Have to agree with you Ironbite. I really love the episodes where the brothers are just dealing with a supernatural force, the come to town, track it down and take care of it. Don't get me wrong, I love the building story arc but these stand alone episodes are real fun. Looks like there are going to be some real good episodes this season. I really hope we get one more season after this one. I know the creators said they are down after this one but the brothers are signed up for one more season I believe. Be nice to see them recovering from all of this, still taking out random supernatural baddies and moving on to normalish lives. Kind of give them happy endings and all...
Tornadron
Every episode of late has dealt with angels and demons, they need to knock that one the head and get back to basics like The X files which left all the alien/supersolider stuff in the first, mid season and final episodes.
Ironbite
Allright we've got I Believe the Children Are The Future watched and done...thoughts as follow.

So we've got a kid with the power of God who can't make things real that normally aren't real. Such as Joy Buzzers working and itching powder causging a baby sitter scratch her brains out. Did...someone give the kid the power of God or something? I mean seriouslly. And Cass decides to kill the kid because he's a threat to existance or something. And it turns out that his dad....is a demon. I mean....seriouslly? This hasn't come up before? And apperently her son is the anti-christ. How interesting. Also interesting on if this will have any type of ramifications this will have on the rest of the season.

Ironbite-next week...old Dean.
Tornadron
I'm not liking what their doing with Castiel this season, with season 4 he starts out a force to be reckoned with by burning the eyes of demon posessed humans and on a serious mission, this season it's been turning him into a figure for humour. It's okay when the humours just serious remarks likes like "god isn't on flat bread." or "the voice says I'm almost out of minutes" but the humanised Castiel in The End, the whoopie cushion and action figure in this episode is taking things a bit too far.

What the heck are you talking about? Seriouslly. I'm enjoying the new Cass this season. He's actually...a character. "The End" is where Cass will go when everything goes to **** up. The last episode with the whoopie cushion and being turned into an action figure...you did realize that Cass was dealing with a kid who's power rivals god's right?

Ironbite-or were you just not paying attention?

So I just got caught back up with supernatural last night, and after watching the anti-Christ kid episode.
I want to know is why hasn't there been more half demon half human kids been born? It seems to me that it was pretty easy for the demon to hold on to the control of the boy's mother. I'm sure he'd of had to have been a pretty powerful demon, but I want to know why if the kid's demon dad could make a baby why couldn't a bad ass like ole yellow eyes do it? Yellow eyes, had to give Sam baby bottles of his own blood. Why didn't he just knock up Sammy's mom before she became a hunter?

Probably for the same reason there weren't more Jesuses running around. It may have been a one-time-only thing.
Cybersnark
Angels & demons both seem obsessed with bloodlines, so it's certainly possible there were some specific fctors that needed to be in play.

Also. . . It wasn't that easy. Toward the end, the mother managed to suppress and exorcise her own demon, which is not something that's ever been seen before (and considering that she knew that salt would do it, it's likely she actually read the demon's mind when she overpowered it). Plus she could've decided to kill the child.

I was lied too!

Ironbite-next week will be Old Dean.

Anybody else buy these episodes in digital format? Watching each one without commercials is pretty awesome. Plus I dont have to wait to own the dvds.

Man, its getting awesome. Does anybody have any confirmation of a season 6? Or do you think it should just end with season 5?
lightsyder
I think the brothers signed up to do a season six if it happens but the creators are still wanting to be don at five. I hope we get at least one more. He'll another season with the brothers mopping up the leftovers from season 5 and hunting regular caddies would be fun.
Cybersnark
The writers mentioned having a 5-year plan, so it probably should end this season.

OTOH, I've heard reports that Padalecki and Ackles are signed for another year, which could be bad. . .
Ironbite
Or good depending on how they do season 6.

Ironbite-I just hope it doesn't become Smallville with a twist.
Ironbite
This show just keeps getting better and better.

The Curious Case of Dean Winchester is truely truely interesting. We've got a 900 year old he-witch who gets off playing poker through the years betting people's years. But the real story is Bobby Singer. He feels useless since he stabbed himself in the gut, putting him in the wheelchair. Sam and Dean are idiots who want to help him out by doing some card playing. Of course Sam's not as good as Dean but still plays Patrick. It's awsome!

Ironbite-who would've said Poker couldn't be made scary?
Ironbite
So we're watching Changing Channels tonight and oh my god it already rocks. The Trickster apperently traps Dean and Sam in an alternite universe where it's just like TV. And I'm talking all sorts of TV shows. From family sitcoms(with the opening credits being in the Full House style) to CSI Miami parody. Honestly, this is got to be the greatest tv show of all damn time!

So it turns out there was no Trickster proper at all.

HIGHLIGHT to view:
It was an angel, Gabriel to be exact, the entire time.

If that don't beat all I have no clue why.

But alot of the stuff that he said to Sam and Dean raised a few points. If Lucifer and Micheal have always been destined to fight...does that mean we've had the end of the world before?

Ironbite-Cain and Able anyone?
skankerzero
my friends and I were rolling during the 'opening credits'!

nothing like seeing Sam on that tiny scooter! xD

last nights episode was amazing. I laughed all the way through it. It actually tricked me with that herpes commercial. I thought it was a REAL commercial! LOL!
Good stuff! and Ya I was thinking the exact same thing when they were talking about Lucy and the Micheal!

VGM out...

This show is so original. I really will be sad if it does go off after this season.
-VP-
I just have to ask, are YOU doing your part to stop the spread of genital herpes.
Tornadron
This is going in my top five episodes which thus far are include Something Wicked, Houses of the Holy, The Kids are alright and Wishful Thinking. I knew there was more to the Trickster then met the eye but the revelation he's a angel seems like they gave up on the oiriginal plan and threw this in instead.

How many other Tricksters have they tangled with anyways?

Ironbite-personally...this makes sense due to how powerful he's always been.
Cybersnark
And traditionally, the Trickster is one of the most powerful figures in any mythology. They tend to be the only ones (aside from designated "transition" gods) who can move freely between every Realm. He's also usually recognized as a teacher as well (either as a cunning hero or as a deliberately horrible warning), so it makes perfect sense that he'd turn out to be Gabriel --the Messenger.

It means something that, of all the spiritual archetypes, it was the Trickster ("Prince of Lies") that the early Judeo-Christians picked to associate with Satan.
Ironbite
Last night's ep, The Real Ghost Busters, is watch and now my thoughts.

Good lord that was such a hugging meta episode I couldn't stop laughing and groaning at the digs and gags done at the audience's expense. The whole episode didn't do anything to the overall plot cept for the very end but it was very character building for the boys to see that even though they're creeped out by the whole concept, it gives people hope in their sad lives and hope for the future. I guess that's why the books will be called the Winchester Gospels after the end of the world.

And what a spoiler that was. Bella didn't give the Colt to Lilith but to another Demon? I wonder what'll happen to him when Sam and Dean(the real one's not the gay duo we were introduced to) catch up to him.

Ironbite-I am gonna so miss this show when it's over.
Cybersnark
So, show of hands. . . How many of us would've been at that convention?
Ironbite
I know I would've been.

Ironbite-probably cosplaying a Changling...CRAP! Vampire one was in Season 4 and the books only go up to season 3.
Tornadron
HIGHLIGHT to view:
I feel cheated by last nights episode, they said they would kill off someone major but Jo and Ellen are hardly major.

The only redeeming bits were:
- Mark Shepard kissing the guy and Castiel describing it over the phone
- Sam and Deans suspense after Dean shoots Lucifer with the colt
- Lucifers recovery and reaction to the colt

Another things occured to me, last season Alister killed Reapers with a weapon 'from a friend' most likely death since it looked like a scythe which I assume was a horseman, so are these horsemen angels or demons?
