Only thing I could think of was depthcharge while reading that.......

Only thing I could think of is how lame it is that Demolishor is a drawing of his toy.

But...since we know Prime kills Demolishor, we know this new character arc they're introducing for Sideswipe is denied dramatic realization...

I'm sure he learns to control his need for vengeance by the end of the issue and is seen petting bunnies or something, making fulfillment of his personal vendetta unessential to the drama

I was originally supposed to be helping out on colours for this, and managed to find on Google the actual image it's based off oddly enough, while researching the colours... not that it mattered, unfortunately.

Oh man. It's based entirely on Hasbro's stock photo of the toy.
And hey, it's kinda like "What IF... Sideswipe retained his original Tech Specs?"

A day early by US but not by UK or Australia (at the least), if Simon isn't too far off on
his blog. For those that got the issue early, spoiler tags would be appreciated for a while.

Pretty solid stuff. Good dialogue, nice interaction between Sideswipe and Ironhide. Even some nice characterization for Demolisher.
Still kinda felt reminiscent of Depthcharge/Rampage. Especially since Demolisher's head kinda is vaguely Rampage-shaped.

I was dissapointed by both of these issues. The art, frankly, sucks - and in this issue was VERY bad, with blurry, incoherent art, poor coloring, and worst of all, blatant traces of movie stills, concept art, and toy photos of Demolishor. Probably Sideswipe too, but I didn't recognize him.
On top of that, this issue, I feel, kinda contradicts the film itself - both in Demolishor's attitude (His first instinct was to run away, before he changed his mind and went on a rampage - very different from his portrayal in the book), and the complete lack of Sideswipe in all of Demolishor's scenes (yeah, while you're hated enemy is going on a rampage through downtown, suuuuure you're gonna go pick on a little nobody).
I just think this could have been handled a lot better, in all ways. I liked the Sideswipe/Ironhide dynamic though.
Are we getting a different artist for any of the next issues? I'm missing Milne sooo bad right now...

You're not the only one.

Man, this artist's cybertronian modes are creepy. It's like the concept art of the machines from the Matrix movies - very organic.
I liked this better than I expected. The art really isn't great on the first few pages (funny since that's what gets previewed online) but it picks up and remains solid for most of the issue.
I really thought the military's insistence on no grey area autobots was interesting. That agreement would have been an interesting thing to have seen filmed (although one imagines that if this agreement is part of the founding of NEST it occurs at least one year before the movie.
Perhaps one of the most important implications of this comic is that, tied with the movie, it more obviously justifies Prime's execution of Demolishor. He's already seen what damage he can do if allowed to run around, so he puts Demolishor down as quickly as he can before another city is leveled (and of course, that's about what happens in Shanghai anyway).

I also like how Sideswipe revises his impression on humans when he got hit by the Argentinian Air Force (Someone correct me on that if I'm wrong).

Man, the bot faces in this are hilariously bad.
