It seemed like quiet night on the streets of Iacon. There was barely any traffic at the usually busy intersection of Nova and Vector, and along the freeways, there were only about five vehicles. However, something was off about these cars… They were going far too fast, even with nobody else on the road!
“Ha! Eat my dust, ‘pals!’ I’m totally gonna win this race!” A black sports car motored ahead of the rest, and drifted around the curve. The other vehicles, resembling a formula racer, a chopper bike, a monster truck, and a hot rod, were moving as fast as they could; however, they had no chance of keeping up with the sports car. These were no ordinary cars, however; they were the Transformers! Technorganic living machines able to change their shape from humanoid robots to vehicles of all shapes and sizes, and these were no different.
“You really shouldn’t be too confident, kid.” The motorcycle, named Oil Slick, dashed ahead of the sports car. Suddenly, the motorcycle released a slick of acid from the canisters on his side! “WOAH!” The sports car swerved to the left, narrowly missing an Autotrooper. “HALT! You are going 300 miles per hour and a 180 mile per hour zone!” The Autotrooper transformed into his police car mode and sped after the racers.
“Aw, slag!” The monster truck, named Dirt Boss, ran into the acid slick, which melted his tires, and he skidded to a halt, soon to be surrounded by Autotroopers. “Haha! That’s what happens when you’re too slow, ‘pal!’” The racer, named Drag Strip, sped in front of him, attempting to ram into the sports car. “Aw, you wanna play? How about this, punk!” The sports car turned on his turbo boosters, dashing ahead of the pack! “WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!” However, he didn’t count on the ramp up ahead being under construction… “AAAAAUGH!” The sports car crashed into a barricade, and the Autotroopers surrounded him. “You are under arrest for illegal street racing! Transform and put your servos up!” The sports car transformed into a sleek mech, named Heatwave. “Fine, you got me…” Stasis cuffs were placed on his servos, and he was brought to a larger Autotrooper that functioned as prisoner transport.
A few cycles later, Heatwave stood before the Cybertronian court. “Heatwave, you have been found guilty of endangering civilians through your reckless antics. This is the third time you’ve been apprehended for doing thus. Thus, this court sentences you to the stockade for the rest of your –“ “WAIT!” Everyone in the court turned their heads to one of the stands of the council. A tall red and silver robot, obviously much older than many others, had stood up. “Optimus Prime!” The judge saluted the Autobot war veteran, and the other Autobots in the room did the same. “What… What is your request, sir!” Optimus looked towards Heatwave, still in stasis cuffs. “I see a lot of promise in this young mech. I’ve been requested by Ultra Magnus to recruit new soldiers into the Autobot army to form as team of my own. I need a fast young Autobot. I’m requesting you sentence him to training uner my guidance.” The jury looked at each other, and then nodded at the judge. “… Fine. This court sentences you, Heatwave, to boot camp under the training of Optimus Prime.” Heatwave looked up at the larger robot, glaring it him unthankfully. Optimus merely extended his servo. "Come with me. I'll teach you what you need to know to be the greatest Autobot you can be." Heatwave reached for Optimus' hand, and grabbed it. "Yeah, whatever." The two Autobots walked off towards Optimus' ship, the Ark...
