I'm a fan of both, but lean towards the Decepticons more.

Although I admire the ideals touted by Prime in most of his incarnations (Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, and so forth), this world isn't one that welcomes enlightened viewpoints. And as that sad fact has made me more cynical over the years, I've tended to favour the Decepticons and/or Predacons (being a fan primarily of G1 and the Beast eras) and sympathize with their goals.

Also, the "bad" Transformers side (particularly as far as the movieverse goes) seem to have a much healthier attitude towards history. For beings that can live so damn long, the Autobots are disturbingly ignorant of their own history. And despite the ideals they supposedly fight for, they often seem to come across as rather hypocritical. If they value peace so much, surely they'd have come up with a better solution after millenia of fighting a seemingly endless war. But they seem to enjoy fighting and destroying as much as any Decepticon.



Don't forget the Diagnostic Drone... aside from Megatron, he was my favourite character in that show. Personally, though, I found Jetstorm a little irritating... and the way he always made some comment upon appearing always seemed a bit forced, to me.

To be serious, I don't think I can pick an actual favorite. Show-wise, I of course root for the Autobots. With the toys though, the factions don't really affect my opinions of the actual figures.

I've always been partial to the classic Decepticon colors like purple, blue, white, and lavender.
Though at the moment my loyalty comes down to which bots look cooler.

I'll go with the Autobots/Maximals.

My G1 fave would have to be Skyfire, particularly in his debut episode. Here, he basically gets talked into being a 'Con at first, then discovers that they aren't the good guys they initially made themselves out to be. I like Gamma in the Sonic series because he's a somewhat similar character. I also loved Prime for being the clean-cut hero.

In Beast Wars, my favorites are Cheetor, Rattrap, Dinobot, and Silverbolt. Cheetor's a teen-bot who grows up a little over the course of the series. Rattrap and Dinobot probably had the most amusing character dynamic in the series. SB's just another one of those characters who gets recruited to the bad guy side, then discovers that he really doesn't belong there and switches sides.

In RiD, my fave was probably Side Burn. It was funny seeing him chase after little red sports cars and get chewed out for it by Prowl and T-A1. Prime is also awesome because of his sweet Super Mode.

I'd have to say Hot Shot is my favorite Armada Bot. He seemed to have the most character development as far as his side goes.

My faves from Energon are Rodimus and Inferno. Rodimus helped reveal that Alpha-Q wasn't such a bad guy and Inferno had to deal with resisting the urge to turn evil that was brought on by his Decepti-branding at the hands of Megatron.

In Cybertron, my faves are Override and Vector Prime. Override's a tough girl who reminds me a little of my younger sister. Vector Prime's the wise old man who just strikes me as being cool.

My top pick for Animated has to be Ratchet. He has the best lines of all the Autobots. "You'll have to pry it from my cold, offline servo!"

I can't tell who I like best in the live-action movies.

I guess I should make a token attempt at a favorite "good guy" characters list...

I've always loved Decepticons more. Jets and tanks tickle my pickle in a way that cars and trucks cannot.

Autobots own all Decepticons. And Maximals own all Predacons.

Favourite Autobots are: Optimus, Grimlock, Ironhide, Jazz, Sideswipe, Jetfire and Bee.
Favourite Maximals are: Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Dinobot, Rhinox, BA, Rattrap, Silverbolt, Tigerhawk, and Depth Charge.

the truth he speaks ! the truth ! us decpticons arent all that evil . we are mearly freedom fighters who have been exiled form there home planet for one reason . the autobots wanted all of cybertrons recoures to go to them so we fight for are land to be ours once again

My money talks; the only Autobots I've bought for the new line was Sideswipe and an Arcee for my sister. I also want Jungle Ironhide. But that's it.

No, seriously, why would my username on almost every single website I'm on be "-Blackout-"?

I dislike Autobots because they're not honest about who they are, just what they do.

Decepticons are honest about who they are, just not what they do.

I'm starting to lean towards the 'Cons, because of my Aniamted Scourge character's hidden depths that will be revealed in my next story.

Autobots for the most part but I have a man-crush and Animated Megatron.

He should secretly be BW Scourge, then. In disguise. Because BW Scourge is the best Scourge.

Nearly all my favourite characters are Decepticons, so there's really only one option open to me.

Another one for the forces of Evil. In almost every series the villians just to seem to have more interesting characters or personality; sometimes just being proactive in general. And its not just Transformers where I am of the badguys. Almost everythign I like I tend to favor the villians. For me, the Villians are the real stars of a show; without them most the time the Heroes would just be sitting on their asses. A hero's deeds can be judged best by the villians he faces, So for a Hero to be really interesting he's got to have interesting villians to spur him on.
