Not sure if there is a thread bout the Blue Bomber.

I asked this on a differnt forum and most of my replies were Battle Network or Star Force. While I don't mind Star Force or Battle Network, I been a fan of the Classic series and X.

Classic series is what I grew up on and X was pretty great in the ol' SNES days. My personal favourites for Classic was Megaman 2, 3 and 5.
wonko the sane?
I've played and generally enjoyed just about every megaman game out there. I'm also a huge fan of the legends series, and desperately want a third... and fourth... hell, just keep the content coming.
Bass X0
I enjoy the classic, X and Legends series. Beyond that... nope. These new Advance and DS series they've been making lately don't appeal to me at all. Megaman in name only they are.

I'm a Megaman Geewunner and proud of it.

I been a Classic fan since they first started. :3

Silly Robotmasters and epic music.

BN was okay, but it's not a personal favourite of mine. That and Star force. I never cared for ZX, either.
Bass X0
I've only played the first Battle Network and Megaman Zero games and just couldn't be bothered with them. I have no interest in playing their sequels or even remotely curious to do so.
Spin-Out
I like battle Network, but last night, I busted out my Game Boy Color, gave it some new batteries, and played Mega Man XTreme.
Tm_Silverclaw
I like the Battle Network and Starforce games for various reasons.. One thing I especially like about them, is you can get -any- enemies attack.

Some of you may know that MegaMan is like my favorite videogame series out there/of all time.

I have a nice little collection of games/stuff. (Which reminds me. I finally found my MegaMan Legends Christmas Card. Need to take a pic of that.)

I started with classic, and followed the series through it's many incarnations.

My favorite is the X series. The inclusion of the wall jump and capsules just made MegaMan THAT much cooler. To this day no other incarnation has made me squeel with joy then the X games do.

In fact my favorite MegaMan game of all time is MegaMan X2.

Series wise, my second favorite is Classic. Third would be the Legends Series.

I still haven't gotten to play much of the Zero series.

The ZX series has the means to become my second favorite series. While I only thought the orginal ZX was 'neat' I was blown away by ZX: Advent! It quickly became my second favorite MegaMan game. The ability to actually BECOME the bosses is just flat out FUN!

As for the Battle Network series... Eh... It's okay, but not really my thing. So I've not even tried the Star Force games yet. (Though the anime rocks)

Hug Classic.

X is the way to be.

ZX is pretty good too. ZX Advent is AWESOME and has a kickass soundtrack.

Bullet Drive (the theme for your trip through Legion) is my fave track.
Diddy_Mao
More of a classic fan myself and a fan of Megaman X up to X5 when the series took a sharp nosedive in quality.

I really did enjoy Megaman Legends and kinda wish they would revisit the franchise.

The Battle Network games are okay for what they are but they come off as somewhat rushed and poorly designed, never played Starforce so I can't comment.

The Zero and ZX games consistently fail to recapture what made the original franchise fun and I've more or less given up on them entirely.

Arsenal
I want an X game in the vein of MM9 with the old school graphics.
Confuzor
I'd love to see a Megaman 10 in MM7 style graphics. This has long since been my preferred "look" for the classic series and I've been sorely disappointed that my opinion doesn't seem widely shared.

Also, MM7 had awesome music (Right behind MM2 and 3 of course ^__^ )

One might say I'm a fan. I'm not choosy about series, though I have had frustrations with certain games.

Megaman was the meat of my platforming back in the day, it taught me all the platforming skills I still use to this day.

I'm a "lite" fan of the series, although if asked, my favorite would be the X series. Mostly art, but story was the main factor - watching two of my cousins play X4 on Zero's story will do that - although I flail at playing any of them. icon-fire.gif Zero series, I kind of like as a close second, also mostly for story and art. icon-hotrod.gif

Nah, its him. He's just being coy.

I actually owe LDB my thanks. I got a copy of legends two off him back in the day. Best thing I ever did.

It's pretty cool that you have your own website, LBD!

I been to the Megaman Network! As well for the Megaman Homepage and the Mech's site as well.

It's a work in progress, I think we had it up until just a couple of days ago. One of our guys is working on the site's back and frontends a little bit, and I think our host has been acting up a bit as well-- later in the evening, the site's been running rather slow, though today seemed a bit better.

Anyway, I'll see what I can find out.

I wonder how many here played the 5th Gameboy MM? The original content Stardroids were a pretty neat set of bosses, and some of the weapons had ideas never really seen in the NES titles. Of course, I always started with Mercury for the Grab Buster.

Megaman Network? You ditched the horrible Blue Bomber title?

Man, I'm out of the loop since I left.

I'm right there with you, Indy. Been a fan of Megaman since Megaman 2, and by Megaman 3, I was pretty much sucked in. Although the numerous spin-offs other than X turned me off a bit. To be honest, the X series seemed to be getting a little too unwieldy in recent years, and anything other than Classic and X doesn't interest me in the slightest; Zero, for example, just confuses me. I mean, robot fairies?

As for style, give me the retro style any day. Megaman 7's style was never my preference, with the giant boots and gloves. There was no sense of proportion.

I'll have to try Megaman 9 once I get a system that can play it; I've heard good things, though from what I hear the difficulty really is insane, even compared to the first few titles.
EvilEyeSigma
I do find that the X series went downhill after X5...

Though, going back and playing them, I find that X6 and X7 aren't nearly as bad as people think.

X6 is burdened with horrendous level design and a story that doesn't make sense, and X7 has gameplay issues, but neither are truly awful AVGN worthy games.

I liked X6, to be honest. X7 was a another story. Most complains floated around the new character, Axl mostly.

The GB Megaman games were pretty awesome in their ways. Seeing characters like Enker, Quint, Punk, Ballade and Terra in the fray was something differnt.

I lucked out and got a copy at Anime North (cartridge only) for $9.99 Canadian. Only beaten one boss so far, but I'm working on it.

Man, I'm out of the loop since I left.

Oh yeah. That was the first thing I did when I took over; I figured The Mega Man Network had too much history behind it to simply discard, and I really didn't like the "pick and choose" philosophy that Blue Bomber was ready to adopt instead.

Come to think of it, I don't even think that "Blue Bomber" ever really took off; not even the people on IRC wanted to switch channels.

We also merged with Atomic Fire; now all their assets are ours. icon-fire.gif

As far as the thread goes, I came in with MM1, and have been with it ever since.

I have not yet beaten MM9, mainly for two reasons:

1) The archaic save system, which is near-useless on the Wily levels. There's such a thing as being too loyal to the oldschool, I think, and that is it.

2) It took over a decade for us to move past 8; I figure there's no need to rush just yet.

Agreeable. I just use the Ultimate Armor to start with in X6. I've beaten the game without it, but it really fixes a lot of those level and balance issues.

X7 is a decent game, but bad by Mega Man standards. I still have mine in shrink wrap after buying it for under ten bucks. Prior, I'd played it on rentals and the like.

X8, I love (except the vehicle stages). To me, this is what an arcade Mega Man X game would be like. And given I grew up on Contra and the like, that's fine by me. Plus, Axl is awesome in it; that should have been his debut game, as a playable character if nothing else.

On this note, I would love another Command Mission. Particularly if it went more along the lines of what the title sounds like, where perhaps you got to actually "command" a group of Maverick Hunters. Bring back Douglas, Lifesaver, add more Hunters. Maybe work in something like the liberation missions from Battle Network 5. I'd be all over that.

I didn't enjoy X8 or Command Mission at all. I actually sold them because I didn't like them, a first for me with Megaman games (I usually keep them regardless of quality just because they're Megaman games).

I think I would quite like a Megaman game done in the 2D Castlevania and Metroid games where you have a huge map to explore rather than individual levels.
wonko the sane?
They did that in the ZX series. Big maps, all free to wander.

Well, only a select few staff were retained... just Heatman and Tabby, I think. I think IHZ still drops in bits via Heatman, so he's not exactly out of the picture entirely, but he's not exactly hobnobbing with us and rubbing elbows, if you get my drift.

I always used relied on collision damage from the bees in Venus's stage to beat the bubble/spike gauntlets. Grab Buster and Photon Missiles tear through some of the enemies, and Tango kills the wind-generating Owls easily. Photon Missiles work wonders on Venus.

First time I played it, I saved, and before I stopped, decided to see what would happen if I fired it off straightaway.

And it took out the colony.

At that point, I thought the whole thing was a dupe of some kind, as though it were impossible to lose, but I've since learned otherwise.

I've never had it take out the Eurasia before, but I tried it with both 3 and 4 parts and ended up with the same result, MISSION FAILED.

Now that I've TECHNICALLY beaten the first half of the game, I guess I'll just go grab the rest of those weapons and items to make the fortress stages more bearable.
Chris_Lv255
Hahaha, X5 was a pain to play due to the luck mechanics and the Quickman homage.
