I did a fan-fic based on Revenge of the Fallen, based on an idea a friend of mine hand.

Title: Information Warfare
Characters: Soundwave, Optimus Prime, Gen. Morshower, two who are surprise
Summary: Soundwave attempts to find new information in order to cut the Decepticons' losses, but finds a surprise waiting for him instead...



The objective had ended in what Soundwave rationalized to be 65 % failure. Megatron had been revived, but this had come at the cost of not merely the Fallen, but Devastator, several other Constructicons, Grindor, the revived Bonecrusher, and numerous newly activated protoforms. What's more, Ravage had been destroyed as well. It was not Soundwave's intention to complain, and he was far from in mourning about the loss of his symbiotic underling, but at the same time, he found these results too dire to ignore without delivering some kind of recompense.

Luckily, even without Ravage, he still had methods at his disposal.

The NEST system was wide open for him to infiltrate, as long as he still had access to the fleshlings' primitive communications satellite. It had been quite useful in his numerous attempts to locate both Megatron's remains, as well as the human boy and the remaining fragments of the Allspark. Even if that scrap drone, Wheelie, had proven traitor, he still had far more potential for gathering intellitgence than the humans did.

All he had to do was - wait.

This... this was impossible. He'd been completely locked out of not just NEST, but the entirety of the humans' communications' network. How had they achieved this?! Soundwave knew for a fact that the Autobots hadn't shared their technology with the humans...

Wait.

No! NO!

He hadn't just been locked out, his security had been breached. His codes, information on the Decepticons' movements, agents still active on Earth... they'd all been accessed and copied from his mainframe.

How had this happened?!

Clearly... an Autobot of great intelligence had joined Optimus Prime on Earth...

"Good work," said General Morshower, to the pair who now stood before him. "The security breach has been neutralized, thanks to you, and we have the Autobot Stratosphere set to intercept the Decepticon in orbit."

"I admit," said Optimus Prime, who towered over the duo, "I am impressed. I mean no offense, but two years ago, I would never have believed two humans could successfully counter Decepticon methods."

Glenn Whitman and Maggie Madsen smiled.

"Well, it ain't no thing," laughed Glenn. "The business two years ago with that helicopter and the freaky razor blade guy helped us get ahead of the curve."

Maggie put a hand on Glenn's shoulder. "Don't sell yourself short, Glenn. They provided us with the evidence, and we just built off of what they gave us. And no one else but you would have been able to do it... hell, you were the only one who had an inkling of what was going on."

Glenn continued to grin. "Couldn't have done it without you, Maggie."

"You two could be of great asset to NEST," replied General Morshower. "I'll have to clear it with Galloway, but I want the two of you to overhaul NEST's computer systems so this sort of thing doesn't happen again. If you two stepped up the game, then odds are the Decepticons are going to be on it as well."

Maggie and Glenn exchanged glances, and nodded.

"We'll take that job," replied Glenn. "On one condition... donuts. Donuts in the break room, at all times."

Morshower and Prime exchanged glances... and then both laughed.

"Consider it done, my friends," replied Optimus. "Consider it done."

Nicely done! Good to see recurring characters come back and I'm eager to see what Soundwave will do when he figures out a way to get back at the humans who disrupted his plans!

This is a one shot, actually.

I don't know why, but the picture of Soundwave going PANIC PANIC PANIC PANIC PANIC inside that totally emotionless head of his makes me laugh.
