Full Version: Limits on Signature Images
What are the filesize and/or pixel size limits for images in your signature?
Including images and text, 200 pixels tall and 500 pixels wide. The total filesize limit for icons and signatures is 500kb. From the FAQ update thread -

The combined image size may not be, in total, more than 500 kilobytes divided between your avatar and your signature image. This is to prevent people from having ginormous animated gifs in their sigs or avatars. The image size for avatars is still capped by the board software, and the signature size has not changed. You're still limited to 200 pixels tall by 500 pixels wide. We'll generally NOT count text in signatures toward your 500k total, since the general rule is 1 character = 1 byte, meaning you'd need 500 thousand characters to reach the cap, and that'd make your signature enormous.

Treat the 500KB limit and 200px by 500px dimensions as a maximum rather than a goal to be achieved, and you'll probably be fine. At least, that's my general suggestion to anyone who has questions about signatures.
