I'm going by the full graphic novel, but if I recall part 3 was one of the most disjointed parts. It seemed like a lot of plot was supposed to be happening, but something was lost in the translation from script to short comic story.

Seemed pretty straightforward to me, actually.
Now to wait for the final issue.

It seemed to be like they cut things for fear of letting us know too much before the movie comes out. I'm interested in comparing these events to the actual movie and start a list of how many scenes and plot points were left out of this one. I think it was a lot.

I only did a quick flip through, I don't want to spoil too much for myself, but did I see Movie-verse Banzai-Tron and Bludgeon in (I think) Jetfire's flashback?
I might pick up the trade, or the separate comics (actually, does that matter?) when my LCS has it's sale.

It's been in trade form in the local Target stores for about 3 weeks now. Why other with the individual comics?

Wow, this story is just as bad as the first movie adaption was.

I don't think the problem is in the adaptation... I just think it's hard to convey movement and sound (which is about all these 2 movies are) into written word and still drawings.

I don't know, I thought it might be cheaper somehow.

All movie adaptations have this problem. I noticed with the first adaptation of the 86' animated feature. It was hard to get pumped about the Prime/Megs fight without "The Touch" playing.

...not to complain, but is there a reason why there hasn't been a thread up yet for the fourth part of the adaptation?

Biggest problem of the movie adaptations (both the first movie and this one): THE ENTIRE HUMOR IS MISSING. Seriously. Was that a mandate at IDW, "make the comics serious business like all our othr comics", or was that a willful decision on Furman's part? 'Cuz this thing is lacking anything that even REMOLTELY resembles humor. Even the Twins' banter is just background noise. JETFIRE is plain dull, for God's sake.
And then, of course, Milne's art. Ewww.
Also, Mudflap is colored wrong several times throughout the adaptation, and incorrectly referred to as "Skids" when he is sucked into Devastator.

Well, considering that most of the humor in ROTF is about testicles and sexism, this isn't necessary a bad thing, LOL.
