Full Version: an unexpected interruption

Fortress Ironhold
Here's my problem.

For everything that I'm trying to write right now - my Armada fic, my RiD fic, my MdK fic, and the books I'm trying to publish - everything that I have immediately scripted to write are action sequences.

But I'm in the mood to do a romance scene. Yet the only possible areas I can wedge scenes in are so far out into the future of each and every plot that even if I write one the odds are good I won't be able to use it.

Anyone else run into odd dilemmas like this?
Revenant
I often run into the problem of making up really awesome climaxes to battles, long-going struggles, or mind-blowing sequences and plot reveals that make me spin in my seat. Unfortunately, my stories are often started "from the beginning," and my really cool ideas are so far down the road that it seems like forever and a day before I'll even get to them.

Sometimes it's best to just write those things out in their complete series, even if it's grossly out of place with your timeline. Then, as you're working back along other things, you can look at it and go "Man, I've got to GET to that! I've gotta write up to it so I can actually SHOW people!"

That's what I do, at least, but I hardly claim to be a writer by trade.
