It's Walky!
HOLY HELL YEAH!

I love McGuinness. And that arc of Superman/Batman wasn't... terrible.

But, yeah. Woo!

Thats a composite Superman/Batman Mecha built by the Toyman, or Toyboy or whatever. Seems like they aren't pulling much out of the arc. Makes me wonder if that Titans Judas Contract movie will come out now. Sure the series did a version but a faithful to the comics version would be awesome.
Shenanigans
The comic arc was enjoyable, and I hope this movie is as well.
The Predaking
It looks neat.

Oops! Pardon my ignorance. I haven't really been following this stuff for some time. I just thought it looked really funny.

I thought it looked fantastic! Especially seeing as how they kept the Ed McGuiness artwork which I'm a big fan of his Superman stuff. The first three or four arcs of Superman/Batman were pretty good until they started rotating creative teams and letting them do their own thing. I hope that DC Animated does a Supergirl adaptaion since Kara is on that meteor in the first place...and loving the Lex Luthor Superfriends battlesuit!

I thought it was damned good, especially in its portrayal of Luthor. Clancy Brown is the best Lex hands down. Kevin Conroy is great as always as Batman, and its nice to see Tim Daly back as Superman as well. All three were great, though Luthor definitely stole the show.

The animation was top notch, and the pacing was spot on. There were some deviations from the source material (which like most of the Superman/Batman story arcs, loves to leave the reader scratching their head), but the changes were often for the better.

I have seen all the DC Universe animated movies, and this is the first one that I have zero regrets buying (Green Lantern: First Flight is the only one I haven't traded in, mostly due to it having the Duck Dodgers Episode as a special feature). In fact, this is the best DC Animated movie since Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

I gotta agree with Deathy, Public Enemies was a good buy. It is a bit short (67 min) but I think it was a good conversion of the trade. Now I've only glanced through the storyline so I can't tell you what exactly was added or taken, but it was a great story that really almost made Lex as the main character rather than Supes and Bats. Using the timmverse voice actors was a definite plus. I think that was even the same actress for Waller from Justice League. I'm not sure I liked having Alison Mack as Power Girl but it was a nice shoe in for her.

I loved it. Most enjoyable recent DC animated offering, with First Flight pulling in behind it. And some awesome laugh-out-loud moments. icon-fire.gif

"Clark...what the hell are 'good villains'?"
Geoff
Worst of the recent DC direct to DVD animations. but that is solely down to the source material.
NightViper
I was going to buy it, but none of the stores around here actually bothered to get it in stock. The jerks!
It's Walky!
I can't hate anything with Catman in it.

Here's the review I posted on TFW:
-------------------------------

Just finished watching it, the best I can say is that it was ok. It was short, and there was nothing in there to make me hate it, but nothing to really make me love it either. All the hero and villain cameos were neat. Power Girl's design really bugged me though. I don't know how it compares to McGuinness' art, but every time she was onscreen with someone else, it looked like she was plucked out of a different show. (Allison Mack did a decent job in the role though.)

Here are my rankings of all the DCU films to date:

1. Green Lantern: First Flight
2. Wonder Woman
3. Justice League: The New Frontier
4. Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
5. Batman: Gotham Knight
6. Superman: Doomsday

(I might switch 4 and 5 depending on the day, but I think this is pretty much it. You might notice that, Gotham Knight aside, I preferred the films with original stories over the adaptations.)

As for the extras on the second disc:

- We get another one of those "talking heads discussing the history of the comic" documentaries like all the previous films had. There was nothing wrong with it, and it was pretty insightful, but I'm just personally enjoying these types of features less and less.

- On the other hand, the "Dinner With DCU" feature alone is worth the price of the 2-disc. Kevin Conroy, Bruce Timm, and the others sharing stories over a relaxed meal is just a joy to watch. I hope they do more of these with future films, I actually think this was better than some of the recent commentary tracks.

- The "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths" preview has me excited, I like the designs that I've seen so far, and most of the cast sounds good. I'm still on the fence about Billy Baldwin as Batman (for lack of a better description, he just sounds like Billy Baldwin) and Mark Harmon as Superman (his voice is a little too gritty for the Man Of Steel, I think he'd be better as Nick Fury).

- There are also two team-up episodes from Superman: The Animated Series that I didn't watch because I own the complete series already.

Overall, I'd say the movie alone is 6/10, but if you get the 2-disc or Blu-ray, the total package is more like 8/10.

I enjoyed it... Grundy was a nice look at what Grey Hulk would be like lol

having never read the arc this was based on, it was all knew to me. this is behind NF and WW for me... and above FF, just because I'm a Bat-fan more than I am a Corps supporter

speaking of support

somebody help this poor girl

also I think Allison was good casting ... look at that poutty face don't you just wanna go "aaahhhhh"

I thought it was outstanding! Being a fan of the first two or three arcs of Superman/Batman and the Ed McGusiness era of Superman. Him, Alex Ross, Curt Swan, and Gary Frank are my favourite Superman artists. I loved having Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy, and Clancy Brown back together again. Loved the opening prolouge showing Luthor running for the Presidency and the Obama like Inaugeration Day! This was my favourite of the new line so far.
