Getting mildly concerned now as they claim receipt of forms will be confirmed within 48 hours, but it's now been 96 and I've heard nothing. The website also tells you not to call or e-mail. I've never mistaken FP to be a professional company, but this is getting a bit daft now.

Compared to the UK convention - admittedly, much smaller with only about 400 attendees - organised by only two blokes who confirm registration instantly (thanks to not dicking about with obsolete technology) and answer any e-mails within 24 hours, FP's service is laughable.

Ranting aside, is this normal or should I go against their instruction and contact them?
