So I'm thinking about going to BC this year (doing things in advance is for losers), but looking up places to stay - $140 for a room? Hug that noise.

Is there either a) anyone around looking to share a room? $70 I could live with. Or b) a cheaper local alternative anyone knows of? Motel, hostel, I don't care really. I don't need much sleep and don't care where I get it.

A great many can be found within driving distance of the Convention Center just by using an online search tool like Hotels.com. This, for example, shows Hotels.com results in Pasadena starting with the least expensive.

Thanks for the link, although I won't have vehicular transport. What is it with hotels near conference centres being expensive? Is there some kind of pattern I'm missing?

I guess it's try-and-find-a-room-mate-at-the-eleventh-hour then. Aren't there usually threads devoted to that sort of thing? This forum seems even quieter than usual.

Only the pattern that says conference centers cater to business-class folks who let their companies pay their bills for them.

I still suggest sites like Hotels.com. You just need to narrow the search to however far from the Convention Center you feel comfortable walking....

Or take a bus. Seriously, buses are a good option.

We can take a fifth spot in our room, but it'd be on the floor. I emailed ya some details icon-hotrod.gif
