Voices for cameo characters!

I predict that Swindle's not as mode-locked as Sentinel thinks... icon-waspy.gif

I can't believe they got Stephen Hawking to voice act.
MrBlud
Wonder why they didn't have Burton do Alpha Trion like he did in G1.

Or if that was him the voice was different. icon-depth.gif
Apostrophe
For some reason Alpha Trion's voice is intriguing to me. There is something unique about it like an accent I can't place.
Nutjob R/T
So the sneak preview is a mother singing old songs in a broken voice? On endless repeat?

Something's broken with their coding.
Echowarrior
Working just fine for me.

I think Phil Lamarr is voicing Alpha Trion. I'll have to wait and see it on CN's site to be sure, but I'll stick with that theory. Not a big deal - I'm half-convinced that Burton wasn't his only VA, so him not reprising the role isn't a big deal.

Sentinel's never gonna learn, is he?

Wingus
Oh, Sentinel... You're such a ding-dong.

Though I cracked up at Jazz. icon-fire.gif "You jivin' me?!"
Chris McFeely
Gawdfrickindammit, would somebody get this on YouTube, already? Dadblamed region filters!

(Blud, Burton only voiced the young Alpha Trion in "War Dawn". John Stephenson voiced 'im normally.)
It's Walky!

Corey Burton did Young Alpha Trion, who sounded like Spike. John Stephenson (Thundercracker, etc) did old Alpha Trion.
Spin-Out
So, Sari has "mysterious knowledge." This totally doesn't foreshadow anything! Nope!

Ah, ok then.
Chris McFeely
Ah, yeah, that's totally LaMarr as Alpha Trion.

Looks like Cliffjumper is in charge of Cybertron Intelligence now that Shockwave's out. And we know Alpha Trion is head of the civilian guilds. I wonder, does that make Perceptor the head of the "science" guild, as it were?

(EDIT: Wikicheck sez "Ministry of Science.")

Man, it did NOT take long for Sentinel to start screwing things up. Storm = prisoner breakout, and no mistake.

Jazzs line is one of the best lines
Sentinel gives a jivey command he gets a jivey responce

Sentinel really needs to be knocked down a couple of pegs, and I hope this episode Gets him at least halfway there.
Jeysie
Dunno why it's not on YouTube yet, but I decided to do the honors until Saturday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5fOSHBXqgw

Hurgh, I didn't think it was possible to hate Sentinel even more, but he's managing it. I hope he *does* get knocked down a few pegs from this...
Chris McFeely
At least other characters are starting to *notice* what a complete douchebag he is. He always just seemed to *get away* with it before, when he was only belittling Optimus's crew. Now that he's really starting to throw his weight around, it's GOT to blow up in his face.
Smitty
Looks like the storm is going to get Swindle on line.
Destron D-69
thanks for the youtube link... I couldn't watch another Mcdonald's ad

I still think Female Starscream is a stowaway. We haven't seen her at all this season. She must be doing something.
Sso02V
Whoa, Sari has creepy Ghost in the Shell typing skillz.
crazyjw18
Hmmm....Sari is behaving quite sueish agin. I had hoped she wouldn't do that. But whatever, the allspark's not done with her yet, I suppose.

Interesting setup for the upcoming episode, in any case. All those old bots are getting pissed at SP, a breakout is pretty well itching to happen, and Jazz is getting in a bad mood. You know it's gonna be good when he does something.

It's Robot Jones, dammit.

People hear one robot voice, they think they know 'em all.

Perceptor's gimmicky voice seems completely unnecessary.
AdoringProwlfan
Ahhh so Sari was able to fix the space bridge to operational specs without even knowing how she did it? My theory: The key somehow transferred its magical abilities over to her, so now she can, perhaps, repair things magically herself.

*shrug* Perhaps a longshot. But who knows, it could be true.

Quite aside from anything else, it saves a VA slot (they only have a budget for so many VAs, and each VA is only allowed to voice three characters an ep - it's why the male Starscream clones will never be named in the show, since it would pretty much end their use (Shescream could get a name, being as she is voiced by Tara Strong rather than Tom Kenny) - and TransWarped, where Perceptor debuted, must have been really, really pushing the budget.)
Wingus
Okay, where did this "VAs can only do three characters an episode" thing come from? I've only ever seen it come up here in Animated discussions, and am curious as to...well, everything about it. Why it's there, what it's for, where it came from, and how did we find out about it?

QUOTE(Excerpt)
During the seventies, the session fee was adjusted slightly upwards but the "three voice" rule went unchanged. Then, in the 1986 contract, that was altered. There was a strike that year — one which most news coverage treated as a humorous filler item, suggesting The Smurfs were walking the picket line. For the actors, it was dead serious, of course. A strike always is.

They didn't get all they wanted — few unions ever do — but they settled on several demands, one of which dealt with multiple voices. Effective with shows produced for the 1988/1989 broadcast season, an actor in a cartoon of over ten minutes received a 10% bonus for performing a third voice. So it worked like this...

1 or 2 voices — one session fee

3 voices — one session fee + 10%

4 or 5 voices — the 3 voice compensation + an additional session fee

6 voices — two session fees + 10%

I don't like Sari having these prodigal skills. It's a little cliche and tired. Other than that, looks fun ! And building a space bridge is what the Autobots should've been doing since the first episode, really.

1. She downloaded the key, so of course he's gonna have those skills.
2. They were busy enjoying being heroes.
3. I don't think they could have, between Earth not having all the proper technology, seeing as even Megatron had to steal parts from the Elite Guard ship, and not knowing they had someone that could build them with both optics shut.

That certainly explains a lot about death in Animated.

In past Transformers shows, characters would usually die so new characters could replace them. In Animated, characters only seem to die when their voice actor is too expensive to be a regular (Blurr, Yokitron) or to help stay under the three voice limit (Tutor Bot).

Actually, no. Sari didn't fix the Spacebridge. That was Bulkhead and Professor Sumdac. All that was left to do was "program" it with the maths ("We'd already be online."). Which would be pretty impressive, if the source of the knowledge didn't seem obvious.

Perceptor's voice is a pretty obvious choice. It has the automatic Hawking association, which fits Perceptor to a tee. Add to that budgetary considerations and it's a no-brainer.
Nutjob R/T
Ahh, so it's not that they're restricted to three voices. It's that if they do four or more, their fees practically double.

So that's why the BW cast never liked to talk about how much they got payed when Scot was around.

It also explains why Tom and Phil are allowed to do so much more on their other shows.

A very nice preview. I'm getting a Zapp Brannigan vibe from Sentinel (Plot our course through that blackish, holish thing).

Sari took the keys McGuffin power. If she had the key, it probably would have done the same thing that she did.

Yeah..I'm doubting that Swindle is gonna be offline for much longer (YAY!).

Ooooooo, Sentinal is so gonna get it. Not only is he getting more arrogant, but others are noticing and being vocal about it, even if subtly.

Ahh, so it's not that they're restricted to three voices. It's that if they do four or more, their fees practically double.

It's effectively a limit though - the male Starscream clones (which use the same voice as the main Screamer and are just credited as the singular "Starscream") aside, at no point has any VA on Animated done more than three characters in an episode [they voice more than three characters total - hell, four David Kaye-voiced characters appeared in Five Servos of Doom alone (Optimus, Lugnut, Cliffjumper, Warpath), but Lugnut didn't get any lines to stay below the limit.]

There's also been some switcherooning to keep the VA budget down - f'rinstance, in the aforementioned "TransWarped", they had Phil LaMarr (already appearing as Jazz and Oil Slick) do Omega Supreme rather than getting Kevin Michael Richardson (who voiced the character in A Bridge Too Close") back just for OS.
Draange
Did anyone else find it amusing that Sentinal's little device for the gags sounds like an automatic car lock button...thing? Plus, who else is thinking that there is a possibility of Swindle getting to say "Let's deal" (or whatever it was he said in the spotlight) should UM regain consciousness? Granted, that might not be this ep, but the thought is there.

Man, these guys are morons. Why did they leave everyone outside of their cells? They're totally doing a jailbreak in like 30 seconds.

Only the Chin for Sentinel is a worthy trade off.

I hope when Sentinel gets slagged it is befitting the massive amount of bad karma he has put out.
