Anyone is going to DragonCon 2009 in Atlanta? Their website is located at : http://www.dragoncon.org/

Unfortunately, the host hotels are already sold out, two of them sold out yesterday right before I was going to book a room. So right now I am waiting to see if they have the Westin be an Overflow hotel again this year. However, even if I have to stay somewhere else, I am going to try my best to go to this con this year.

I'd really love to go this year, I haven't been in far too long. Usually me and mine just get a motel room away from the con and drive to and fro as needed. Somewhat of a hassle, but it lets avoid con-hotel problems like slow, crowded elevators and constant noise.

Any good suggestions on where to try? The Westin hotel right next to it is ridiculously expensive.

Over-flow hotels were announced today. Days Inn and the Hampton Inn were the only two to give prices, but the wife and I haven't decided which one we want to stay at.

I haven't bothered going since 2005. Somehow I only get maybe 3 hours of enjoyment from the few days, which makes it an easy economic decision to make.

Nope. I just found it going through their pic galleries. I thought it was awesome. Looks like its the RID color scheme.

I am going and I am live in Atlanta. What you can do is maybe get a room in Norcross, tucker or something like that. You will be 20 - 30 minutes away but the rooms won't force you to sell your first born inro slavery.

I live in Atlanta, and I still get a hotel room. There is entirely too much to show our international guests, and too many things to do during the convention itself, to justify the back and forth of multiple trips per day that the rampant shopping and outfit changing requires to fully enjoy the con.
