Cheetimus Primal
I've been waiting for this mold for a long time now. I'd started my own scratch build Transtech Cheetor ages ago. I'd made the legs, rolling wheel feet and all but hadn't gotten much further. Then came Botcon with the first images of this thing and I just dropped it.
So here we are. Just the vehicle mode so far. Wanted to do this first so it looked cohesive.

Opinions?

Database
I think this is what everyone is hoping to see as a repaint.
TerminalHipster
Nice! That colour scheme works really well on that mold (at least in alt mode so far) and the paint job itself looks pretty slick. icon-hotrod.gif
Boss Borot
Friggin BEAUTIFUL. The colors work perfectly on that mold, and I love the placement of the spots icon-silverbolt.gif

Hm..I was gonna ask if you were gonna use some purple, but apparently BM Cheetor didn't have any (or when he did, it was used for his spots). It's the TT design that had the big areas of purple. It might be one color too many for this deco.
Jeremy
This must be great, because it's making me want a Cheetor toy. Looks awesome so far, really looking forward to seeing more, especially with the robot head as a teaser. And no, I don't think it's crazy to use a little purple here and there on him.
Cheetimus Primal
Danke, peeps.
As I paint the robot I'm getting the urge to use purple instead of black just to spice it up a bit.
maximus prime3
man this and animated ricochet are the reasons why you ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i approve of everything you make man, EVERYTHING

Do you approve of this?
Still WIP...

Boss Borot
I more than approve. I'll have to ape your color layout if a real version of this idea never happens and I have to make my own icon-silverbolt.gif
The only other thing I'd add would be a line under his nose for the catty cleft lip look.
MrBlud
That's amazing work Cheets.

The mold really has to be done like that. Be a great Cheetor to go in the Universe display since *that* one is so terrible.
Jeremy
Man, that's my new favorite, for today at least. I second the call for the catlike, cleft upper lip, and I wonder if purple would have looked nicer than red on his head. I thought those details were purple in the top picture, and it looked really nice to me.
Cheetimus Primal
Mayhaps they will be as I don't really like the red on his head.
Mouth04
That's friggin amazing! I want this Cheets in my lap right now, and I mean the toy!
Wingus
Oh man, is that some hot stuff right there. icon-silverbolt.gif

icon-silverbolt.gif I have no words. None. To say simply that it's awesome seems an understatement. icon-silverbolt.gif

As our favorite Animated Intergalactic Arms Dealer said, "Are you seeing this? Are you loving this?"

Yes. Yes sir, I am. icon-ironhide.gif
ssg4life
much better than my first idea of making blurr into night viper since they pretty much have the same style of feet
Tm_Silverclaw
Dammit Cheets.. I was going to try and make a digibash of that. icon-screamer.gif

Ok, somebody send these photos to Hasbro ASAP. Or, don't we have a person or two around here who has designed repaints for Hasbro?

That's great Cheets! The mold works great for that character with those colors!

Randy

some part of me probably knew you would do this, but damnit if it still isnt surprisingly awesome.

Galenraff
Wooooow!

This makes Blurr look like a big blue turd. And I *like* Blurr!

Hmmm... Don't know about the colourscheme to be honest it's... too... I dunno... BM/G2? :/

Yellow, green, orange and red? :/ It's not very cohesive at best, to be quite honest. Sure it may remind of BM Cheetor, but I don't think that's an ideal colourscheme either.

Could have done something like that. But with Cheeta print only, of course. icon-waspy.gif
Robogeek1973
Oh wow! icon-bee.gif

Fantastic job bud, I want this guy now. icon-fire.gif
Skids
That kitbash is epic Cheets! It just pure awesome! I can easily see Hasbro or even the collector club making a transtech Cheetor using your color scheme.

The similarity to BM Cheetor is the point, man.

That's awesome. I want one.
Cheetimus Primal
Thanks a lot, peeps. I'm glad to know others are digging this thing.
I'll have to do more pictures later. Sadly I haven't had time to do much with him since. Been distracted by a custom for a friend in fact.

And yeah, Quint, the point of the guy was to hit on BM Cheetor. These colors worked for that guy and they seem to be working for this guy as well.

I agree, this kitbash of Blurr into a BM character looks too much like a toy from BM!
Kalimol
I don't see that at all. If the toys from BMach looked anything like the art from BMach, I'd have actually collected them.

This is...simply beautiful. If I had the technique and steady hand to pull this off, I would totally do my own. It just orks so damned well!

A thought: What about leaving out the shield? The TT design had a similar gap. God, I want to try this so bad...My god. Even the head is spot-on. How did that work?
Proto-Blues
I...think I love you.
Skullgrin140
Now that is good craftman's ship. After seeing that I now want Transtech to be the next line after Animated is over & done with, seriously.

But Wingus, isn't that exactly what I said and then how I don't really care for BM Cheetor's colourscheme, applied to this particular mold/mode? icon-waspy.gif icon-fire.gif

I just think BM Cheetor looked quite bad, though that goes for most BM colourschemes (just as it goes for G2 colourschemes, as the same sort of clashy random nonsense schemes are used a lot of the time. Hence the remark regarding BM/G2). That's a personal preference, of course and everyone's free to disagree. icon-hotrod.gif

Just think he could have done something more original with this one anyway. One of the BW Cheetor's colours could probably have worked equally well if not quite a bit better. But rather would have seen something drastically new (as above) or something like a speeding/running or pouncing cheeta on the side of the car. Race car colours perhaps. I mean, I understand the motivation of homaging (dude... my digibashes are ALL homages), but I just don't think it works that well for this one. Seeing as he's not a fancy weird-tech cheeta and because the colourscheme homaged wasn't all that awesome in the first place.

To me, anyway. icon-hotrod.gif

Be careful with that 'hitting on' thing. People might start getting ideas... Oh wait... icon-fire.gif hehehe.

No offense meant when I crit of course Cheetimus. icon-arcee.gif I know you're a big fan of Mr. Spots and as such you'll prolly love the maturing Cheets version as a character and put a lot of work into this. But in my humble personal opinion (of which I have lots icon-waspy.gif), his BM colourscheme wasn't the most impressive out there.

Not compared to other characters/toys, nor for the Cheetor character itself. As such, don't really care for what the BM nor Transtech artists came up with as a colourscheme if it clashes too much with colours themselves or with a character. Just as I don't necessarily conclude that official colourschemes are how they 'should' be or 'best option'. icon-hotrod.gif

The official colourschemes they had in mind for some of them Cheetor sketches seemed quite poor to me anyway (if not just placeholders to distinguish parts, geez I hope they were just placeholders).

Never was very big on the TT style anyway.

Maybe, just maybe, if he actually likes the design, he doesn't see it as something he needs to make up for and/or apologize for. I understand that you like flatter schemes, but that's obviously just, not, the point here.

The black in place of the purple and the softer orange are definite improvements, however. Overall, I certainly like the Wyatt/Cheets version better than the DHJ. I mean, this is basically uniform yellow with a nice balance of purple, green, and orange accents strategically...well, balanced, around the design. The contrasts are striking, but they aren't random like much of the BMach toyline was. Rather carefully designed.
Quintesson #1
I'm not asking him to apologise or anything. I was just expressing my opinion, he's got absolutely nothing to justify for me personally, the above was just explaining that. No need to defend him Kali, please understand that my critique is not an attack. icon-hotrod.gif (Now, my critique on movie designs could be considered an attack at times, but even then I provide feedback from how I'd think it'd look better - aiming to achieve a better product - IMO anyway).

Opinions may vary afterall, as I don't share your opinion on the balance of this particular colourscheme. However, I'm well aware of that they've been carefully selected and applied. That doesn't mean I as an individual have to like the outcome or application of such a selection though. I'm equally sure afterall the BM's weren't completely random in colourpicks, as I suspect they wanted to provide a feel of alien, yet 'domestic' (earthen) animals - which colourschemes can make happen by just "weirding them up", so to speak.

However, my opinion existing doesn't mean you, Cheets, or anyone else, wouldn't be entitled to liking Cheet's model though! icon-arcee.gif In fact it was the OP that wrote:

I simply gave mine as requested. Cheets doesn't agree with it (logically since it's his baby project of course and it'd be rather odd if he didn't at least like the concept or he would never have done it! icon-hotrod.gif), you don't and others may not. Fine. But if you ask for opinions, expect critique, not just praise. I'm usually glad when Boltax or Detour provide strong feedback that others might consider rude or harsh. But remember that critique may give one new ideas, one might consider it irrelevant and do nothing with it, or one might go and 'fix' it if it IS a good idea. At least it challenges the person to improve. In this case, clearly, my critique wasn't a small adaption and won't ever be applied to this particular bash. However, I could see Cheets go and make another bash in the future using an idea of the sort I provided, it might give him some inspiration.

Or not.

That completely depends on if he feels inspired and finds it an interesting concept. icon-hotrod.gif
