You know... Looking at it, someone could almost make a Kitbash of it from Cyb Dlx Red Alert...

Not even "almost." That's the toy's transformation scheme exactly.

Well, except the windshield location. But yeah, King Starscream based the design off of Cybertron Red Alert.

Also the GB Mech has two hands, where a Red Alert version would only have 1 and a proton wand as the other.

I'm guessing his Tech Spec motto is "I ain't afraid of no ghost of Starscream!"
God that looks cool. I may have to see if I can pull off making it.

Wouldn't the vehicle mode's proportions be entirely wrong using Red Alert ?

Well... yeah.
But I don't think you're likely to find too much with the vehicle mode proportions of the Ecto-1. Not a lot of hearse-formers out there. Easiest to go for the tribute potential of the robot and get the vehicle as close as it'll allow.

actually the whole reason i wanted the picture is to use it for reference for a custom transformer since the idea (not to mention the drawing) is so awesome. i got an ecto 1 model kit off of ebay (1:24 scale) and finding pieces as well as a transformation scheme has been overly problematic. i am open to any suggestion and ideas, unfortunately the red alert it is based on doesn't work for the actual car since it is so long and narrow.

I'm really interested in seeing this brought to life... there has to be a 'basher out there capable of making this figure, and have it look good in both modes. Wonder if that guy who did the huge Devastator bash might be interested in trying this one out?

I never get tired of seeing the Ectoformer Pic.
