Hey guys, cool site!

I'm 31 yrs old, and vividly remember seasons 1 through 4.... after that I sort of lost track of all the twists and turns they came up with. I can honestly say that these toys were by far the most memorable and fun of all my childhood toys.

So I was trying to explain to my 4yr old son last night that daddy played with Transformers LONG before his now favourite movie was released (last year). He's never seen a toy or
cartoon version of Optimus Prime, or Bumblebee, so I thought I'd search for a box set of the first generation of seasons from the cartoon. In my searching I sort of found that you can either buy the Chinese version of the box set, or 1 or 2 other sort of comprimised options.

My question for you, the obvious elite in all that is Transformer knowledge is this... What is available to someone like me who wants the first 4 seasons (of G1) on DVD, in as high quality as possible, with the original North American audio tracks? Is there such a thing as an all English box set that's a high quality conversion of the exact episodes I watched as a kid?

Thanks in advance,
Paul C

I have the Rhino boxsets for the entirety of the G1 cartoon. The episodes on the sets have been digitally remastered, but I don't think anything was ever cut from them.

Thanks for the reply. So how do you find the quality of the picture and sound? I know it won't be better than the original, but does it look like they did a good job transfering it to digital?

You might want to hold off on hunting down the Rhino DVD sets. Hasbro has the right to the cartoon now and next year is the 25th anniversary so we might get some new DVD or even some Blu Ray sets.

The Rhino stuff is alright, if you don't wanna wait. I borrowed them from my cousin so that I could see the first two seasons of G1 a while back.
