Full Version: Problem with email notifications
The Allspark Forums > Cybertropolis Public Square > Ask the Staff

Okay, so it used to be that I would get an email notification when I'd get a PM. But I check the site often enough, and with my iPhone now, I can even check it there, so getting the email notification is unnecessary. I tried to remove them.

Now, every day at like 6:00 pm I get a digest of any topic I've posted in that has had replies. I'd like for those to go away too, but I can't figure out the right way to configure the settings for that. Currently I have everything unchecked. Is that right? Or is there some "correct" configuration so that I don't get emails notifying me of that stuff?

Go to your control panel, click on Email Settings, unclick the Email notifications by default box.

Ironbite-should help.

What bizzaro world did I just step into?

Didn't you hear? We re-arranged the wording of that forum. It's not "Ask the Staff" anymore, it's "The Staff Asks".

A world where I know the answer to a question because I was going through the same thing on another board that uses this software.

Ironbite-also....a world where I own everything...EVERYTHING!

Okay, all my checkboxes are unchecked, and even that drop down is set to "no notifications" (but it's not checked anyway, so it doesn't matter). I got another round of emails tonight though.

Does it need a day to cycle or something?
Ironbite
I dunno.....

Ironbite-if it helps, whenever you make a reply to anything make sure the enable email notification of replies box is unchecked.

I'm wondering now if I am only getting "leftovers." Like, the topics that got accidentally subscribed to - if someone replies in them, I still get a notice. But once they're no longer getting posted in, it'll be fine.
