Raksha
Nov 25 2008, 06:18 PM
Hey all. Well, here goes. For those who don't know me, I'm a longtime fan of Transformers, heavily involved in the fandom throughout the nineties and the early part of 2000. I guess you could say I took a break, both for personal reasons (Dissatisfaction with the franchise future) and also for...other reasons that I really don't want to go over again. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone on the forum. I'm a Decepticon fan and make no apologies for it, with a heavy interest in the original (and best) animated series.

Assuming this is really you (there's plenty of trolls out there who'd think it funny to fake being you), welcome back online. Manage to move somewhere warm?

Assuming this is indeed the same being as the original Raksha, hello. I'd say welcome back, but you were rather before my time.

Yeah, welcome back. I imagine if you're an impersonator we'll know soon enough

Well, first question I guess. Do you own a Masterpiece Megatron? Figured you'd love it.

I did indeed recently get one and yes, I thought it was definitely one of the better toy versions of the character. And yes, I'm really me, in answer to some of the other posters comments

Well, you'd say you're really you no matter who you are.

No reason not to believe it, though.

Allow me to say, like hell you are.
Next time try impersonating someone else's close friends.

Oh snap.
I hereby recount the "no reason to believe" line.

If the next registration is "Prime-Z" I'm going to know this is bad impersonation week.
BTW, don't. I'm in a ban trigger happy mood today and can usually trace bad jokes back to bad users.

Playing the old vague links game...
"I still function" is (G1) Megatron's line, so for these purposes Raksha=(G1) Megatron. Now, the Raksha here was an impostor. Was there ever an impostor G1 Megatron? The answer is yes, in the Marvel comics. This leaves us with one final question: Who is the equivalent of Straxus?

I wasn't terribly impressed when I saw the 'interests' section of the profile. It completely ignored entire sections of her real occupations and hobbies. Glad to see you on top of this, Stormy. ;>

The same person is also posting on the TFArchive forums. If it IS an impersonator, he or she is pathetically obsessed.

Hm.
Maybe I missed something, but aside from a barely-filled-out profile... what's the evidence that this is an impostor?

Let's put it this way...suppose you hear someone talking claiming to be your good friend, but they've got the wrong accent, the wrong voice, using unfamiliar phrases, not using familiar phrases, and it sounds nothing like them.
I can tell by the posts in this thread that this person's writing style is different from Raksha's. Even though the content (ideas) match up, the way those ideas are expressed is different. Raksha is much more formal in her speech, and there's certain adjectives she uses often to describe things she likes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forensic_linguisticsRest assured I have sent a message to the real thing, and if it turns out I'm wrong and she's just drunk-typing or some such, the account will be reinstated.

Guess I'm not familiar enough with Raksha beyond her infamy to know that stuff.

And here I was thinking Stormy had just asked or heard from the real deal. Instead, she figured it out awesomely.

No. The difference was pretty obvious to people who have had both RL and frequent online interactions with Raksha.

Yes, well, it's still somewhat awesome to figure it out that way; at least moreso than just being told.

Hey, I want that awesome credit. Also I have psychic powers.
Seriously, it's easy if it's someone you know well. If your usually-polite friend suddenly developed a potty-mouth or your English-major sibling suddenly forgot basic grammar rules or your parents suddenly started speaking with foreign accents, you'd know that either something was seriously wrong or else it wasn't really them. It's only difficult when you aren't closely familiar with the real deal.

Oh, sure, that makes plenty of sense. It doesn't make it not-cool, though.

(I'd be glad if I never have to test how easy it is personally.

She seemed a bit too friendly to me, but it's been several years since she cut off contact, so I couldn't say for sure if she'd had a Dickensian moment or something.

Yeah, I used to converse with her several years ago, and it just did not read like her. But what got me was her posting in the feedback thread for All Hail Megatron. She pretty much swore off all new material years ago.

I must say this has all been disappointing---here I was thinking how great it was that Raksha had become more open-minded.

The question remanes that who would dig though the past and try to
imatate Raska in the first place?
What woulld thay gain by such actions? one of the old guard would have seen though the ruse eventualy we just happen to have Storm on hand to clear things up prutty fast
Even in simi lerker mode at ATT I think I had only two coversations with her and thay amouted to another verson of the favorites threads
