I don't know who Space Ghost's voice actor is, but he's clearly doing an impression of Gary Owens (and a pretty darn good one, too). Makes me kinda wish they'd just gone ahead and gotten Gary Owens, but ah well.
Looks like the animators straight up used the vintage Hanna-Barbara model sheets for the characters, too.
So cool. Especially the vintage opening title card and the classic music (Space Ghost's original theme song was pretty great).

Really!?
Wow, that's embarassing for me. I can't remember the last show I saw Owens in (I think it was the Blue Falcon cameo in Dexter's Lab). His voice definately sounds like it's gotten older, which may have been what threw me off.
No wonder I thought that "impression" was so good...

That was a beautiful ending. I teared up, seriously.

It was very sad but it did go out with a bang. I mean they had the most obscure character in the DC universe show up, Make fun of toy companies, give all the actors credit and even give a slap to scrappy doo

An amazing run of a show! I'll be rerunning my downloads for ages to come. I really hope we get a TV movie or something like that as one final swansong for the show. I liked the Superfriends-ish status quo the show was heading towards so maybe a story with the Legion of Doom.
Also, does anybody else want a Hammers of Justice poster?

Brave and the Bold Aquaman is 'outrageous' and funny but, well, sometimes he should clam up a bit.
Anyway, I can't recognize some of the characters whose costume Aquaman wears. They're not all heroes since he does suit up as a Music Meister. Can DC fans identify them?
0:36 firebreather is Legion Sub Fire Lad Staq? 0:36 cryonic is villain Icicle? 0:53 portal maker is who? It can't be Adam Strange since he doesn't generate the Zeta Beam. Costume makes me think of Lightning Lord Mekt. 0:57 telekinetic is Doom Patrol's Mento, right? 1:38 wall crawler obviously isn't Spider-Man. DC's Tarantula is female (and dead in Secret Six). I don't think he has the same costume as the spider themed assassin who appeared in the Young Justice toon.

Man, I wish I had excuses like that to hang up a phonecall...
As much as I disliked this show in the first seasons, this one has episodes that are all hilarious.
Also, they based Ra's al Ghul's armor on his Batman TAS toy, how obscure is that?
wonko the sane?
Aug 27 2011, 06:55 AM
Okay: I got to start watching this last night. After The batman, and Batman TAS, I was expecting something that took itself slightly more seriously. I was not expecting what I got. I think I like it.

The problem with seasons 1-2 (except the Batmite episodes) was, that while it took the campy 60-ies style and had Batman be deadpan serious while doing silly stuff... it took the storylines more-or-less seriously, I mean, we got invasions from Darkseid, Starro and other villains, heroes dying, etc... Which was a turn-off for me, as the jokes were not that many and the (often boring) plot took away most of the episode's time. Thankfully, around the end of the second season they dropped any pretense of taking the stories seriously and just went with downright silly, the Music Meister episode or the one where Aquaman goes on vacation are great examples.
EDIT: Watched the last episodes. Four Star Spectacular, sadly, harkened back to the days of season 1-2, it was hardly funny at all, especially the creature commandos part (which was even kinda grim with Ultra-HUmanite eaten by dinosaurs and Kanjar-Ro eaten by a monster). I did chuckle at Ro's depression at never being able to arrive on Rann...
The last episode, on the other hand, starts out downright silly (Batman stopping Lincoln's assassination) and just goes uphill from there. This scene in particular needs to be captioned!

watch the Joker episode today! Loved it! the reverse perspective made it an awesome episode, and seeing Joker care about someone was neat.

The wall-crawler was John Law, the Golden Age Tarantula, but in his All-Star Squadron/'80s retcon outfit.

I frankly never heard about the Weeper before, but he was hilarious. Loved how the Joker kept idolizing and ignoring him at the same time. And man, Batman was really a dick in that episode (granted, it's probably shown from the Joker's perspective). Though my favourite part was the prequel story, Joker doing Dee-Dee from Dexter's Lab and blowing up future Earth...
Captain Atom's episode is a laugh. His PSA's cracked me up. "You are humans - some of the most fragile, vulnerable beings on Earth. Seriously, I think it's almost pathetic."

Pretty good ep focusing on DCs the Big Three. Loved the Kingdom Come bit at the end there too (Tho this show seems to go out of their way to avoid making a Batman Beyond reference any chance it gets).
It was doubly interesting in that just last night I was discussing with some friends how Kevin Michael Richardson has more range than just "black guy", and here he was as Lex Luthor that same evening.
I wonder why CN flipped Generato Rex and B&tB, I don't think it was a tape error because the "next on..." bumpers reflected the change.

I do wish the Birds of Prey episode wasn't banned from airing in the US. Either I'll have to track down a HD encode of it someday or Warner puts in on a Blu-Ray box set. (HAH! Sh'yeah right.)

What, did the DVDs skip the episode? Just curious, as I knew Cartoon Network wouldn't air it in the US but I hadn't heard it was banned from home video release, too.

It's not so much that as it is that I'm not even sure they're releasing any more DVDs of the show for the time being.
Plus I'd rather watch it in HD.

Too bad this show has to end, it was getting more interesting.
I even have a cool idea for an episode! it's called "The Three Mad Doctors" as it stars Professor Achilles Milo, Dr. Emile Dorain and Hugo Strange as the evil version of the 3 Stooges. Milo is Moe since he has the same damn haircut, Dorain is Larry since he is a redhead and Strange is Curly since he is round and bald, could be a homage to the classic comedy trio.
