One of my favorite characters (mostly thanks to other fiction, such as Ghosts of Yesterday) from the Movie is Barricade. Unfortunately, the problem is that he's relegated to the movie universe, without any other real counterpart, save for a G1 Micromaster from back in the day.

I'm still trying to learn this Photoshop recoloring thing so I can recolor toy images like I see here, but I'm quite frankly lost, as it doesn't seem to want to let me change colors, though I can affect shades of colors sometimes (but stuff like black and white are out, which is unfortunately vital here).

So, I instead took the instructions for Universe Prowl, and recolored him into a potential idea for what a Universe Barricade might look like. Try not to cringe too much:

I was hoping the idea might be of enough interest here for some guys to play with it, see what they come up with. I'd love to see an official version made, but I'm not holding my breath.

Characterwise, I like to think that maybe he and Prowl were teammates, perhaps even partners before the war broke out, though they each embodied one half of the "good cop, bad cop" thing, except it seems that Barricade really was a bad cop, and of course joins the Decepticons.

Had more detail than that, but it's been awhile.

Anyway, that's that until I can figure out how to mess with colors in this thing. In the meantime, I hope someone can do something with it.

(Oh, and that sickly green-yellow color is supposed to approximate gold, btw. Did I mention I'm no good at this?)

IMO Barricade should be an American muscle car of sorts because it goes with his personality a lot better.

I think Uni. Prowl would look pretty cool in the Recon Barricade scheme.
Mecha KJ
Cybertron Downshift would be perfect, IMO.

would need a head remold and arm remold. a regular looking robot head and regular looking arms just isn't Barricade.

Great idea for a Universe Barricade. Hope I can help you out with recoloring actual toy pictures...

Open up the photo you want to change colors in Photoshop. Then go to Image(at the top), Adjustments, and select Desaturate. This will make the photo turn to grey scale. Now create a new layer, then change the layer's blend mode to Multiply or Overlay. The blend mode option(default says Normal) is a drop down menu, located under the tab name for Layers. The difference between Multiply and Overlay is just a lighter/darker variation. So just go with the one you like after painting. Once you have this layer set, pick a color you want and start painting away on this layer.

If you want to change the look of the black and white parts of your recolor, select the original layer with the photo, then use the lasso tool to select the parts you want changed. So if you want something to be black, select that part, then hit Ctrl+C to copy, then Ctrl+V to paste it, which will make a copy on a new layer. Now go to Image, Adjustments, Brightness/Contrast..., and play with the settings until you get something you like. Hope this helps.

Also, a quick tip for coloring line art. Open your line art, then duplicate the layer. On the duplicate layer, set the blend mode to Multiply. Leave this layer as the top layer(give it a name, like Line Art). Now create a new layer, and move it below the top Line Art layer. Name the empty layer "Color" or something. Now start painting away on this new layer. You'll soon notice the black lines and color look smooth next to each other. icon-hotrod.gif

a black repaint of the Universe Silverstreak/Smokescreen mold would be Herr Fiend, a Renegade from Gobots.

Hell yes!

Add a monocle to Prowl's face and you've got it!

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I would like a Herr Fiend toy from the Silverstreak mold. It would be crazy cool if they gave him a new more cartoon accurate head.
