EDIT : By popular demand ... name changed icon-waspy.gif

Hey there folks,

TF mosaic is a success. Having provided three one page comics myself to it I came to the conclusion that we should start a mosaic for FanCharacters which will focus on ... well ... Fan characters. I am officially starting this project as of today.

Stories must follow these guidelines :

- Must focus on your fancharacter
- Must include at least one other fancharacter from someone else or yours for stories with more than 1 bot.
- Must stick to the 1 page setup
- You can include known bots, as long they don't steal the show
- Any continuity

List of stories

- Please send your fanfics to me by forum mail, with your real name, the name of your bots
- Once we have a list of stories, we will start looking for artists.
- Of course you can illustrate your own story if you want.

Let the fun begin icon-hotrod.gif

I've done pencils for something like this before. icon-hotrod.gif It's a great idea.

I cringe at the idea of associating the word 'Mosaic' with this grass-roots movement, though.

Agreed. This is a great idea. icon-ironhide.gif

Ooooooooooo, this sounds like fun!
If I knew how to write comics, I'd totally be in!

And I agree with Dissever in regards to the name thing.

I'd avoid using "Mosaic" in agreeing with what Dissever said, but I'm not objecting to the idea. icon-hotrod.gif

a great idea. i would love to do a piece. i'm ready for a page whenever. i'll do one of my own character and probably Dissever first, just to start the creative juices. where do i post my finished page?

Oh goodness! Now I'm blushing.

Probably we would start posting on the Iacon board, with the TransFanCharacters Unleashed (or whatever name is settled on!) in the title somewhere. icon-hotrod.gif If this project starts picking up steam, then perhaps the admin can gather them into a single pinned thread. That's my best guess. I should think about doing some one page shorts with Fusillade and the 2k5 crew. icon-hotrod.gif

Just send them to me first and we can have an official opening when we have a few ready. I'm doing one myself at the moment with Graph and Drivaaar.

Any limits on era or background characters, and what not Detour?... I'd be interested in writing an OoC Post-BM page for this, though I'm just curious to what counts as a fan character too. After all, there's a bunch of characters that are remake of oldie canon characters into the beast era.

Why're you asking me?
But since you are... canon characters are canon characters. If you take G1 Sunstreaker and put him in Beast Wars, it's still Sunstreaker. An original character has to be, well, original.
If I redesigned movie Barricade to fit in G1... I couldn't claim him as a fancharacter. He'd just be Barricade.

i've got two scripts ready to go, i just have to finish putting together a few pics in relation to them is all. should probably mail it off to you tomorrow

Woops, my bad. XD Well, the main reason I was asking was in the case of characters such as Inuarai's Balefire... who was largely for a long period a Vehicon version of Inferno with the pseudo love feelings for the 'royalty' turned up high. I've got a version of the character she lets me play because I developed out a plot line where he was reformatted in a way that purged a great deal of the programming that made Inferno and Balefire so nutty. On the one hand, it's Inferno.... but on the other, so many of the mental and psychological elements involved with the character disassociate it away from the origin. You know?

got a fair bit on my plate art-wise. But I may tinker out a script.

Which is primarily my fault, I'm thinking. icon-fire.gif
