To start things off I'd like to explain a few things about my weekly schedule. I work a continental shift, 5days one week and 2 the next ..giving me 14 days off a month (give or take) and when all is said and done ..that's a lot of free time, as a swinging bachelor living on his own (ladies

)I've come to depend on routine to keep the monotony from driving me to settle down and start a family ... heaven forbid.
so today was my big day out to do "the fun thing Destron lets himself do with his money...after the bills get payed" which usually consists of driving around looking for things to buy, going to the movies and then getting drunk with friends.
This thread will be where I come to discuss the first on that list... movies usually get their own threads, and well, I'm not even sure a tenth of the things I do while drunk would make it past the mods even when discussed clinically and anecdotally. lol... though a few have slipped buy recently...

anywho onto THIS WEEK.
1: Hellboy 2: Liz Sherman action figure. Awesome... and my second one will be the base for a custom Anita Blake (just a bit of bust enlargement and a wig)
2: New Gods Series Action figure of DARKSEID. also AWESOME and Kirby-tastic... I plan to set him on my shelf of deities next to Buddy christ and Aslan.
3: All 8 Universe Robot heros... Rattrap and Megatron, Cheetor and Blackarachnia, Sunstreaker and Galvatron, and Hound and Blitzwing. Damn fine and Hound Rocks
4: Animated Leader Bulkhead. Haven't opened him yet, but I bet he's "KILLTACULAR" ... and decent when Headmaster is off

so action figures aside I also bought ...BOOKS
1: Anita Blake -Vampire Hunter -guilty pleasures volume 2 (yes I own all the issues but damn it she's worth it... I mean jive Buffy is ass compared to US Marshal Blake
2: Avengers/Invaders #3... I love the concept and I have to support the marvel/Dynamite partnership ..can you fathom the awesomeness of ARMY OF DARKNESS vs. SECRET INVASION? yeah I thought naught... plus I want more Anita Blake comics... mmm
3: Batman #678 RIP part 3... this is the first Batman series I've bought in years and I'm loving every panel: Batman, Robin, Alfred, Joker... all written as if DESTRON was the only member of the audience... I nearly jive a brick with part one... and the series hasn't come close to loosing me yet... hell it's the first DC book I've got in DECADES.
4: Stephen Colbert's Tek Jansen -action packed debut issue ... and it's approved by the colbert nation authority no less

5: an actual BOOK, but you should be able to guess... Laurell K. Hamilton's Blood Noir ...an Anita Blake novel... HOT DAMN!
6: Beastwars Soursebook trade...
Food... well not so much, I got a large coke at Mcd's and a rockstar energy drink at walmart.... oh and a box of Jumbo Freezies ...
I might starve ... but I have a sexy as hell Pyro chick mini and maxi tfs and a lot of reading to do before the buzz wares off...
oh I also picked up two movies...
walmart had a 2for10 bin set up so I got "man with the screaming brain, and Alien Apocalypse" staring the one and only be-clefted chin of Bruce Cambal
... well I think I purdy much just outed myself as a BIG TIME geek... but still?
ladies

...

Next week... MORE SPENDING... maybe food, Cause there's no rent for 3 weeks and a pay check! WOOT

this week's hunt will be in two parts. part 1 today and part 2 on friday... before batman.
part1.. dvd disappointment..
okay sure birds of prey was easy enough to find.. but no swamp thing season 2, and STILL no season 5 of teen titans... at least i've still got my Gamera collection to tide me over.
Action figures... also a bit disappointing this week... seems ontario's finally hit the wall on new tfs and joes. I did Pick up the Big Baby Hellboy to go with my Liz from last week.
fortunately BBTS saved the day, as my two vintage orders came in this week: Joe Fix it Hulk, from the Pre-1st Movie HULK line ...Awesome and Guardian Bob and Virus Hexadecimal from Reboot...
now I've got a figure for each of the main cast, and Only one iteration of Hulk left to get... (smart hulk) ... and My Psychodrama-diorama will be set and Awesome ...well as awesome and complete as it can be until the fin fang foom wave comes out.
I'm mostly stoked about the Hex though... mmm
No Novels this week... which is good as I'm almost done last week's Anita Blake.
Comics will get a booster on friday, but for now I picked up
secret invation 4... Fury's back bitches! woot
Ash/Xena #4.. Atolokis shmolokis.... hmm, howsaboutakis?
the Ghostrider Annual...
and New Exiles #8... which again, suffers from a psylocke focus.... 3Bs marvel. Bring Back Blink.
And the new Toyfare.

Hey Jon...long time no speak! I might have to add to this thread with hauls of my own since there is FINALLY some cool ass jive coming out in the next couple of weeks. Although being at my parents house trapped with crutches and a full cast means I have to dispatch them and hope they follow the list!!! I'm right there with you on Batman R.I.P. I thought I'd have enough left over to order Revoltech Lazengann or SDCC Nemesis Prime. NOT SO, because my local scalpers suddenly decided to be lax this weekend.
Which leads to TODAY
Classics Sunstreaker = $9.99
FFF Wave Savage Grey Hulk = $14.99
Sababa Mythology Theseus = $5.08 (I saw the helmet and couldn't resist getting it for a Marvel Legends Ares custom I'm doing, and it was on uber-sale)

Classic, or Hippie hair version?
anywho, the Friday update is only 2 days behind ... here goes.
Comics.
WWH: Warbound Trade... I loved these characters from Planet Hulk, and I hope they'll help out in Red Hulk at some point.. but I don't know Never found the last 2 issues so I don't know how it ends... first on the read list.
Complete Onslaught Epic vol 2 trade. I dropped out of Comics around this point in X-men... AOA had just about blown me away and nothing could top it in my youthful eyes... then I see the cover with Juggernaut just layed out... and I said. NO Not Possible. Clone Saga came and I was done. Spider-man #400 was the last comic I bought for years. But now With Skrull mania sweeping the nation, I thought hey, might be a good time to look back on the one Big ado I missed... the one secret betrayal that really hit home...
Single issues. ALL TRANSFORMERS.
All Hail Megatron #1... Woot in a boot its going to kick ass,
Reign of Starscream #s1-3, I'd like to see how IDW continues the movie verse.... All the Arcee covers didn't hurt

either
Spotlight Hardhead. MUST KNOW HOW THIS STORYLINE ENDS... MUST KEEP READING SPOTLIGHTS... IDW DON'T STOP MAKING SPOTLIGHTS!
Online purchases:
BBTS- Soul of Chugokin Aquarion, G2 Space Case (for my Universe shelf), Bw Terragator and Skyshadow because I'm in a fuzors mood, and Dinobots Dinotron because I don't have a version of this remold yet, and hey, he was cheaper than the Neo Original

I've been spending every single penny (and more) for months now... I think it's a surge of anxiety about my ex-roommate which still hasn't left, what with moving into a new place providing new anxiety.
Uhg... I mean... I spent a ton before BotCon, then there was BotCon, then TFcon, although they had so little there that I really didn't spend much, and then I spent some more, and there's expensive preorders for Henkei seekers and TFClub City Commander, and then expensive SDCC exclusives. It never ends!
At any rate, I have some treasures I've picked up. I don't know whether to hijack your thread or start my own. ah hell, hijack!

-The Dark Knight Soundtrack (just as awesome as the movie was)
-Doctor Who: Spaceships and Spacestations (96 pages of okay awesomeness with lots of bright, shiny pictures!)
I wanted to also pick up but due to lack of funds and an inability to cash my check because the stupid bank closed:
-Angel After The Fall Hardcover (sweet ass art work on the cover and lots of cool extras)
-Athalon Sports 2008 Pro Football Preview Magazines (I gobble these things up every year when they come out)

I actually had a nice haul this weekend that allows me to join this thread! ^_^
My local Gamestop had a 5 bucks (PS2) and under game bin. So I picked up a few games I've been meaning to pick up for a while now. (Thankfully all were orginal case)
XIII, Ring of Red, Arc the Lad: Twilight of Sprits, Extermination, and the game I've been interested in for a while. NanoBreaker (which is very fun)
Decided while I was at it to pick up Dynasty Tactics, Dynasty Tactics 2, and Lord of the Rings: Two Towers for my brothers.
Also while it wasn't in the bin, I found and picked up the first PS2 Full Metal Alchemist game.
Next day I ended up going to a specail anime event at a FYE near me and picked up the Second Collector Box for Wedding Peach, a Death Note pin set (L, and his 'L' symbol), and a Death Note Light Keychain that shines L's 'L' symbol on the wall! ^_^
Then I happened to find the second volume of Black Heaven at Movie Stop. The only DVD my friend was missing in the series. So I picked it up.

This week my First box from BBTS came in,
Bw Skyshadow, Terrorgator, G2 Spacecase and BM/Dinobot's Hardhead....oh yeah and Choglockin (sp?) Aquarion
grabbed the newest Secret Invasion comics I could find, while my dvd colection has expanded thanks to Robot Chicken Starwars, Teen Titans S5 and as of an hour ago Avatar Book3 Volume 4 and Harold and Kumar:EFGB
No retail toys this week... but I'm expecting two more orders from bbts ... still no new Animated figs or Universe beyond the first 2 waves, and first deluxe wave respectively.
Not sure which of the three Aquarion robot modes I like the best... leaning towards Luna because of the big ass arm stabbies

CRY WALLETS CRY...

this thread has become epic... let it continue.
on the issue of food stuffs being included. Sure, but it has to fall under one of the two following categories in order to qualify as a "crying wallet" expence.
1: The items of food you bought, are proportionally small compared to the "non-necessities" mentioned in the thread. Ie. You buy all of the Universe figures at once, and get a stick of beef jerky so you don't starve untill tomorrow
or
2: You Buy a LOT of FOOD and your Wallet is crying because its guts can't be spent on something cool like the Imaginary Marvel legends Exiles Boxset Hasbro are you hearing me...
however seeing as that all of our cashflows are all different, there will be no real monitoring done... its up to you.

A box of starbucks vanilla bean truffles
3 containers of assorted truffle type candies (coconut/almond, dark chocolate)
Healthy:
two boxes of fiber one granola bars

It sounds like a lot of candy, but most of it is shared/given away. My usual 12 hrs is one granola bar, one sandwich, and 1 or 2 truffles. Sometimes the low fat crackers take the place of the granola bar.

Tek Janson #2 -haven't read yet... working up to the Awesometacularity level required to even open it has taken some time
New Avengers #... SKRULLS it doesn't matter what number it is... its got SKRULL AMERICA in it and he PUNCHES A SABER TOOTH TIGER IN THE THROAT!

I sware to god I think I said that out loud...
anywho passed on my first purple tf ever tonight... I'll eventually get the repaint of this mold.. because then I can at least pretend its in scale...

Wednesday: Animated Prol and Grimlock, i still need a Leader Bulkhead, and a deluxe bumblebee so i retire his activators version and actually have one in the right size.
Yesterday: Since i passed the torch of GI Joe collecting to my little brother we went out and grabbed him the serpentor/armadillo vehicle pack. We actually went out ot see if we coudl find him one of the newer snake eyes, we didnt find him and he had to settle for something that he didn't go loking for and was triple the price, he now knows what it feels like to be a collector.

Well, the 127 Yard Sale is starting to wrap up, thought it was gonna be a downer this time around, but still managed some decent deals:
Thursday: Sector 7 Camo repaint Skyblast (just missing the staff), SHS Hulk (both for 0.25); female, male, and spud Mr. Potato Heads for my little cousins with tons of parts ($10 total); two bags of Wildly Cherry M&Ms.
Friday: Four McD's Hot Wheels sets (three World Race and one Acceleracers for $2.00 total); set of six BK LotR Goblets (complete set, plus an extra Frodo and extra Strider all in original package for $18); and can of RC for 0.75.
Saturday: Little Mermaid TV Show (for little cousins (year older) sister that I also got the Potato Heads for) and Stephen King (for my dad) VHS (2for$1); Cinderella and Jungle Book VHS (also for little cousin (2for$1); 11 comics, most old school Avengers from the 100's era, a couple of F4 related ones ($1 each=$11); next door was an antique store, found two old old issues of X-Factor and an Iron Man issue from the Armor Wars ($1 each=$3); X-Tinction Agenda TPB, little bent, plus two issues of Avengers V2 (#7&8) ($3 total) and next door to that area, a hot dog stand ($1.00); next area following those two, had some old school Beetleborg tapes (been wantin to watch those again for some odd reason) both for $6 and (upon finishing looking through the area) two more hot dogs and a bottle of water (skipped breakfast due to waking up a little late); on way back home, stopped by this organic/Amish food and we got lunch (was still hungry for some strange reason) and got this huge sandwich, two bottles of Voltage Dew, and two bottles of Pepsi ($9.50 Total). Wallet may not be crying too much but my body was a little tired from lack of sleep and a lot of walking.
Wish things had been a bit better, but there's always October-December
