Well this has been in a box for over a year now. Here's my take on Defensor as seen in a quick test shot set.

There are no larger additions of parts for arms or legs at the moment. Everything in this set of shots is contained by the five figures being used. Things will obviously change drastically as I add a leg shell for Groove and finalize how the arms/hands will work. The head, chest, and individual bots will also change of course.

These figures are all pretty close in scale. I'd say the extremes range from 1/-18 for Groove to 1/48 for Blades. The cars/truck are all around 1/24 with the firetruck being a slightly smaller scale.

Groove has already been chopped up and is currently being put back together ina new configuration. I'll post pics of that soon.

Here's some Groove experimentation...

sweet! if only the original figure was that nice and articulated! cant wait to see the rest!

I like most everything you're doing here but the alternators cars just seem a tad large...

Chopped up Sideways is AWESOME though.

thats, tight! This will be killer when finished!

I agree with Prowl seeming too large, Maybe wait till Universe Prowl is out to have someone that might look better.

Thanks for thefeedback everyone. I thought prowl was a bit large too but I really want to make it work as he's a perfect mold for Streetwise.

Here's an update. I'm going to use the feet to increase the chest area since I need some bulk there to offset the Prowl scale issue. The chest-plate will be scratchbuilt and offer more strength. I'll also build feel ala G1 to gove more height and meat to the legs.

I am not going to use those exact OP Beast forearms for the final version but they give a sense of size and proportion.

Here's some more on Groove:

I swapped heads, attached the front tire directly to the windshield assembly, split the back wheel into two halves, and added saddle bags.

So far that looks pretty good icon-ironhide.gif

I do like how the square chest really hearkens back to the original defensor. I look forward to where this goes!
HeyMickey
Groove looks more and more awesome with every mod you make. Any plans to mod the other guys, or will they just be straight repaints?
shumworld
It's shapping up nicely. Groove is looking awesome. but seeing that he's the smallest limb, wouldn't he make a better arm than a leg? ya did switch First Aid's place with Strretwise.

Thanks! I do plan on modding the rest of the team to a lesser extent. Head swaps, and minor transformation changes are about as involved as I'll get.

I've been going off original Japanese designs for this. I love the look of these drawings so I am trying to make this look work (with the addition of forearms of course). I'm open to Streetwise being a leg if it makes things easier, but I'm not yet to the point wheree I know if it will be.

Thanks for the comments and feedback gang. Cheers!

DUDE. This is gonna rock.

That looks great! I can't wait to see the others modded.

Quick and minor update. Groove's legs now have attached wheels and his front wheel is reconnected to the windshield. While Defensor has shoulder sockets (in RID prime's feet!) and some experimental joints happening.

shumworld
total badass so far. though i still find Groove as a leg to be awfully puny positioned next to the first aide leg. also just wondering, along with Optimal's forearms, will you be using his armored plates as well.
JAF
Started working on head and chest plate. Here's a teaser of the head.

i'm at work, so i can't fine-tooth-comb this thread to see if someone asked this already - are you going to use TFU 2.0 Blades now that he's out? Seems to be a good idea. icon-hotrod.gif
