Convinced there are no Decepticons left on Earth, the Elite Guard prepares to take Optimus Prime and his crew back to Cybertron, unaware of the increasing Decepticon activity taking place under their very noses.

That was awesome.
HIGHLIGHT to view:
Ironhide cameo! And almost-Wreck-Gar cameo.
Cool explanation of Starscream's immortality. Starscream's repeated "deaths" (and being dumped in the exact same spot) were hilarious.
So, Starscream's in Autobot custody and being taken offworld. Ultra Magnus, Sentinel, and Jazz are gone (for now), the Autobots are resupplied, Megatron is in contact with the Decepticon splinter groups, and there's a double-agent on Cybertron.
Primus, I love this show!

HIGHLIGHT to view:
Wow, Megatron disposed of Starscream so coldly and like he meant nothing. That was the way it should've been back in the day.
Anyways too bad they couldn't have his body be blown to bits. It would be far too graphic but at least it would explain why they kept dumping out his body without expecting him to come back.
Still it was pretty silly that they didn't put two to two toghether though.
Awesome episode though. Magnus is actually scared to death of the cons. Meg's actually seems very frightening and chilling compared to the original. Also it was nice to see the earth Autobots have more hold on the situation and courage than the elites.

Yay, Ironhide cameo.
So much for Ultra Magnus being a badass. If he can't even stand up to Starscream, what chance does he have against the likes of Megatron?
Speaking of Megatron, he's not all that brilliant if he keeps blasting Starscream without ever pausing to wonder just why he won't die.
Is anyone surprised that Sentinel Prime is pretty much a useless pansy in real combat?
Optimus Prime continues to evolve as a leader. I am loving this, I am.
Can't wait to find out who the inside bot is.
And hurrah for Wreck-Gar foreshadowing!

I haven't seen the episode yet, but so far, we've only seen one guy defeat Starscream: Megatron. And Megatron has only been defeated by Starscream (plus a starship/atmosphere/etc) and having the Allspark shoved in his chest. And even THAT didn't kill him.

I thought the Elite would even the odds, what with Megatron being revived. Oh, how wrong I was... the Autobots may just be more effective without the Elites there, save for Jazz.
The downside of this is, by the end of the episode, it looks like the plot's become a juxtaposition of InuYasha and Power Rangers SPD. Fortunately, I think the writers will handle it well.

Well, the line is that the Autobots haven't encountered Decepticons for centuries, to the point ranking officers haven't even seen a live one. In fact, before the start of the show, it seemed Ratchet and Magnus were the only ones, and even then, Ratchet is bloody old and Magnus may not have even been supreme commander. Even if he was, it seems akin to sending the Queen to fight insurgents in Iraq. Just because he's in charge doesn't mean he's a treble-hard bastard.
The point I'm slowly getting to is Autobots just don't have the combat experience.

HIGHLIGHT to view:
Love how the Autobots decided Fanzone would be the best person to take care of Sari.. 'course not like they knew anyone else. Also, the montage of Starscream trying to kill Megatron set to Megatron's call out to the Decepticons was pretty great. Man Animated is a great show.

It was an awesome episode. My torrent took like 3 1/2 hours because of the lack of seeds.
Megatron was absurdly brutal in the way he dispatches Starscream. I was laughing uncontrollably during the repeated attack/body dumping bit.
Megatron has this serious and eloquent speech to the decepticon legions scattered across the galaxy in the background as they keep showing starscream get killed/thrown off the side of a mountain.
I love the commentary on Iraq. Decepticon insurgents/terrorists in the rim are destroying space bridges. Magnus and sentinel believe this is because of news on Megatron's life and the destruction of the Allspark. Much like how supposedly letting the world know about atrocities like Abu Gharib led to an increase in attacks. Magnus and Sentinel asking Prime to lie and silence negative information while Optimus is fighting for the truth.
I love the bribe too. Sentinel shows how corrupt he truly is. Asking Optimus to lie about the Allspark and Megatron, and take the fall so that in the near future he could have his career back. Even join up with the Elite Guard (ditching his "loser" crew).
I can see WHY the decepticons want to transform and RISE UP. The Autobots are pretty corrupt in their own right.
Starscream totally owned Magnus and the Elite Guard-showing just how strong Megatron is (Megatron shrugs off Starscream's attacks). I love Sentinels reaction.
Sentinel: "What .....is that?!?"
Optimus: *big smirk on his face* "OH you haven't seen one of these up close before have you? That's a decepticon"
Prime saves the day by slapping stasis handcuffs on Screamer. Magnus priases him and accepts that Decepticons ARE on Earth (or more of them MIGHT be on Earth given Starscream). He leaves Prime and crew on Earth to collect Allspark shards and apprehend any straggling decepticons (he gives them a crate full of stasis cuffs). The Autobots on Earth are seemingly more or less police now.
Sumdac created energy signal dampeners so the cons can move freely without detection from Autobot scanners. So it's more than just the carbon cave now. They can be undetectable everywhere.
Megatron's plan is brilliant. He uses his transmitter to organize scattered cons along the rim. They will keep attacking space bridges in the rim to draw out the Autobot army away from Cybertron. Meanwhile, Megatron will lead an army right into the heart of Cybertron with the bridge Sumdac is designing. Allowing him to conquer a defenseless cybertron.
On top of that, he has a mole inside Cybertron Command, who will facilitate the plan and relay information.
I do have to say though, this plot sound almost 100% like the final battle/stage of Mass Effect. Not that it is a bad thing. Mass Effect was awesome.
It's hard to keep saying this, but this is the best episode yet. Animated is an amazingly solid show.

I LOVED the death/speech montage. Loved it.

Thanks for the Rapidshare, my school's internet has filters that selectively prevents me from downloading .torrent files (once they're on torrenting is fine though) and it was in full force today.'
Now that I've seen it; c'mon give Magnus some slack here, he was pretty much shot in the face pointblank, that's pretty difficult to deal with. He probably could have done much better if he had some more prep time. He was supreme commander during a time of intense war, he has to have some fighting experience unless the animated autobots have an aristocracy

I really liked this one too! But a few things- What makes it that Megatron is so much stronger than Ultra Magnus that Scream can completely knock him out and far way, but can't even touch the Con? Oh well. Plus I don't think a train would be able to support two transformers jumping on up of it full speed. AND I don't think the Guard is too smart. They see the bomb and start hitting it? Good one guys. That part made me laugh actually. Jazz couldn't hit it hard enough with his nun-chuck, so Magnus smashes with his freakin' hammer. XD

A comment on the "Elite Guard"...
I think that "Elite Guard" is just a general term for the Autobot army. It doesn't really mean they're stronger than everyone else - just that they've had military training/some possible upgrades.
Which explains why they're for the most part too weak to do anything about the Decepticons save for ingenuity.
An aside, however - who else things that they would have been slagged had it not been for Headmaster upgrading Sentinel's shield in the previous episode?
Anyway, LOVED how they're doing Starscream as unkillable (so long as he has that fragment, anyway - I take it the Autobots don't know about it) and how Megatron's plan is shaping up. And I'm suspecting that Shockwave is an amoral Autobot scientist who gets contacted via his mole and turned.

When I was reading the Botcon reports today I read that Starscream was dead and that he would up the treachery. This led me to think maybe one of the Allspark fragments got a hold of him and brought him back from the dead. Low and behold that is what happened.
This was a very strong episode and sows the seeds for some interesting revelations soon to come.

I don't know if the autobot didn't notice it so much or if Magnus deliberately didn't make a big deal of it. The fact the Elite Guard took him abroad suggests this won't be the last we see of Starscream. I'd imagine that the prospect of an immortal soldier might be all the more tempting with the war flaring up again, and Magnus is commander enough to see it. The autobots are already dubious

Also, this Starscream seems to have a decent achillis heel, rather than being totally immortal.. Take out that allspark fragment and he dies for good I would guess.

Yet it was serious too. Megatron is brutal in this show. Completely ruthless.
The seriousness combined with the hilarity in that montage made for the perfect scene. It wouldn't have worked if Megatron wasn't so brutal and if the speech wasn't so serious and eloquent. It made the over the cliff part funnier than it would have been otherwise.

Totally. Having him be a guy who can get killed over and over and return to life makes him so much creepier (And more morbidly amusing) than if he were to have been a ghost. The fact that his Spark is missing is pretty disturbing, too. Before that I would have figured the Allspark re-energized it every time it went out, but no... Makes me wonder what exactly Sparks ARE in this universe if he's still himself more or less, yet it's *gone*.
And man, that was so great how Magnus took a full-on blast from someone Megatron can dispatch with ease. Lesser shows would have made the Elite Guard super-powerful.
