Hi guys!

Longtime lurker, but this is 1st time posting. thought i post something neato!

Actually let me start with a short story:

I ate something bad that landed me in the hospital during the weekend of WonderCon. It was a horrible experience with a ton of IV's plugged into me and a really low bloodpressure (70/50). So for the next 3 days in ICU, i completely missed wondercon

I made my wife go because she loves art books (we're both artists) and i know if she didnt attend she would regret it. i'm not dying, so no worries right? anyways, while she was there having the time of her life, felt bad that i wasnt there with her (we go together every year)... so surprise surprise when she came to visit me, she pulled out MASTERPIECE megatron from the wondercon bag! Ah, i love my wife

anyways, i did a mini-mod to his eyes. I wouldnt dare paint the blacks in - my wife would kill me for modding an expensive toy she bought, so i used **drum-roll** black electrical tape. At one point, i took the tape off and it left a black adhesive residue cleaned off ok but took effort. But overall, i'm quite pleased with the look; and if at any time i become displeased with it (ie u guys telling me it looks horrible) then I can just peel it off without damage!

I am enjoying masterpiece megs with a blast. He is an AWESOME figure. I was erked by his skinny legs early on, and the fact he's not a solid super brick awesome toy like Optimus, but it blew over quickly. He's great!

Nice! I really like the eyes like that. If I ever get the figure myself, I might have to do the same.

I still think his legs kinda look like popsicle sticks, though.

yeah i know what u mean

i'm sure they did it that way so he look great in gun mode - but optimus doesnt look great in his alt mode? so why go for such an accuracy?

if anything, they could have put some kinda skirt on him to make him look like he's got more torso. other than that, he's fun to play with!

Huh, wow what a subtle but great change! I always felt there is just a little something missing with his face - now mine looks funny without it!

Did you just kind of eyeball the shape and cut it out with an exacto knife?

Oh, great. Now I've got mental images of him crushing puny humans because they printed a really weak joke on his leg.

Yup - with an exacto knife, i eyeballed the top and side parts in one piece so it's like a check mark. took a couple tries. then i just put it there and with a thumbtack sorta just moved it into place and squished it into the right spot (since electrical tape is so maleable).

i cut the bottom piece afterwards cuz it just didnt feel whole without it.

glad it worked! my wife would have killed me if i tried to paint it.

It's the missing monobrow that does it.
