Frankly? I'd rather use the Alien Blaster. Then again, I'm specced toward Energy Weapons, so it makes sense. It's lighter, and it's perfect for do-or-die situations when you're out of shells or bullets and you've a Super Mutant Master or Glowing One closing the gap. Or, heaven forbid, a Deathclaw.

So where exactly do I need to go to find this place? I started a new character last night, and I have no idea where it is. I looked online, and it said by the Red Ryder factory, but I have no idea where that is either.

I will say the beginning was very slow burn. But for what it was, it was a good tutorial.
Fallout 2 had an tutorial that was utterly horrible. A real shame, given the breadth and depth of the rest of the game.

The Perk isn't that great, really. My main missed the same suitcase, but when I went back with my Neutral Mercenary character I got the perk. It's nothing special.

You'll get used to it. Remember though, Fallout 1 was made for a simpler time. The nuances of Fallout 2 or 3 aren't present. Still, Fallout 1 has it's moments, also "feels" most like Fallout 3, mainly because Bethesda used the first game as the primary inspiration.

For the sake of non-bugginess, there will almost always be a level cap of some kind inherent to the data structure of the game. However, it would be possible to simply put said cap at such a high number compared to what it is remotely possible to reach in-game that it does not matter.
The biggest issue would be "what happens when you have all of the perks and all of the skills maxed out?"

See, what they should do is go back to the old school style Fallout - where you're only awarded perks every other level. As for the Level cap, just rescale XP gain. Level 20/30 cap isn't so bad, but everything in this game gives you obscene amounts of XP.

Braun's been torturing the people of Vault 112 for over two centuries. I think he does deserve to be locked away for as long as possible - alone in a virtual world of his own design. Matter of fact, when I exit that Vault, I make it a point to close the door behind me and seal the staircase leading to it as an RP way of symbolizing "Sealing the Vault", to ensure nobody finds it.

I couldn't do that to another person. Even someone as evil as Braun.Still, I've made a fair bit of progress. I've around 11 Achievement Quests to do, not including Operation Anchorage, but I know there's at least one I couldn't do (
Strictly Business. Even if I was playing the most twisted, cold-blooded motherhuger to walk the Wasteland, I couldn't do what that requires of me), but I'm just ambling around, taking on the Enclave patrols (The second one I met, after visiting Girdershade, had an officer and a pair of bloody Deathclaws. So, I somehow became a Lincoln cosplayer. It started with my character being named Link at creation just because it amused me. Then I found Lincoln's Hat and Repeater. And then I got a business suit. I realized where this was going and switched to a beard and haven't looked back. Even when I switch to real armor, I generally keep the hat on (also with my pair of Lucky Shades) instead of a helmet for fights.
It makes Enclave Radio pretty funny, though. Having "Stars and Stripes Forever" playing while I mow down mutants with a minigun or light them up with the shiskabob is hilarious.
