Anyone else glad the time (Morn, Day, Noon, Night) and events are back? this time they could maybe include weather, seasons, maybe a few places with high level Pokemon like Mysterious Dungeon/Cerulean Cave to level up better.

It's been a while since I played a Pokemon game, is the breeding still in there (much more effective way of trading Starters)

the time of day thing was a pretty cool feature. It made it possible to double your hunting area without actually doubling the space in the game. I'm glad they brought it back.

I think breeding will still be in the game. If I recall correctly, the sprites are also supposed to be different between genders.

The time of day should also allow gamers the opportunity to evolve Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon again, I have never found a way to do that in Fire red, Ruby or Emerald.
The Wifi connection is handy and maybe eliminate the need to attend tours and so forth to gain tickets to islands to get Mew, the other Lati or Ho-oh and Lugia.
The fact these games are connectable to all the Advance games is a bonus, you can even slot the Advance game in DS Advance slot and trade that way instead of using 2 handhelds.

The reported release date is September 28th for Japan, probably not until 2007 for America.

You can get Espeon and Umbreon in Emerald. Get Eevee to its happiest and then level it up either after 6 am for an Espeon or 6pm for an Umbreon.

That was confirmed ages ago. I think there's also a video of in-game footage. Not terribly exciting footage mind you (it's just the heroine walking around), but it does show off the game's pseudo-3D style quite nicely.

The direct approach is to buy Colosseum and a GCN-GBA link cable, and beat the game. It starts you with one of each.
I'm glad to hear time of day is back.
Replying to the first post: Seeing weather appear again would be cool--I liked the segments like that in R/S. (The roads to/from Fortree have areas where it sometimes rains, and also areas where it always rains. And of course there's the brief bit where Kyogre/Groudon is controlling the weather.) Seasons sound like a worse idea, though... they'd basically have to change on a daily basis in order for the system to be reasonable at all, and at that point, why not just bring back the G/S day-of-week system and leave it at that?

Its time like this that the purchase of a game shark (or in the originals case, a game genie... I love my game genie...) is well worth the cost.
I know I'm never going to see one of the tours, things like that avoid quebec like the goddamn plaque. Mostly because it would involve hiring locals to do the the work. (not because of the language thing, its a goddamn law that if you run a promotional event or movie or TV show or things like that, you have to hire local crews to work it.) I just drop the coin on a game cheat device and get it myself when the game is over.

Does anyone else want to see a bigger land with loads of towns with a larger number of buildings, mountains, lakes, volcanos and more secret areas?
Ever Grande City was a complete disappointment in the gem series, a name like that suggested a huge town instead it was a Pokemon center followed by Victory Road followed by the league! I was expecting a thriving metropolis with contests, tournaments and something akin to Goldenrod from the metal series.
Mahogony town (metals) was a complete joke, same can be said about Fallober (gem).
One thing that could work would be missions for when the games completed like a quest to gather certain Pokemon, take down a new team, find items, either have some ready via GBA carts or sent through the WiFi connection.

No way you could play and talk. Look where the mic is. Even worse on the Lite. Plus with that proximity to the speakers, feedback would likely occur.

You know you can get rid of feedback with some clever filtering. I haven't heard of any major problems with people chatting in the Metroid Prime Hunters lobby. Besides, Brain Age/Brain Training seems to hear me just fine.
EDIT:
I also just realised. Instead of mucking about with correlators and matched filtering, why not just set it up as a walky talky system? Press a button to talk, release to listen. Since battle menus will be handled by the touchscreen (see Serebii), it could work without any hassles.

Have you guys seen Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Wii? Now that looks impressive! instead of Pokemon gesturing moves they actually hit the competitors, the scene of a hyper beam lancing out from one to strike the opponent looked fantastic. You could find the vids on Youtube.com but they are low res.
Also i finally got Eevee to evolve into Espeon on Ruby but the game clock was after 11:00PM, while on Emerald at approx the same time I got a Umbreon it seems to be random.
Also there's nothing to it, just keep Eevee at the front of your team at all times, have him battle lower level Pokemon, circle the world map a few times and keep checking in with the woman in the house at the bottom left of Vernaturf, if she says he's 'very happy', the next level up he will evolve.

Raising a pokemon's happiness is pretty easy; just don't psychotically abuse it or use bitter herbs instead of the regular healing items. Of course, if you're a prick like me and decide to make your pokemon hate you completely so you can use Frustration, that's up to you.
I just hope I can get my Penultimate Annoying Team back together. It hasn't worked right since Silver, after they shifted the TMs and such around. That team ate legends for breakfast.

Getting ManafiThat is
ridiculously convoluted. I suspect the percentage of legitimate Manafis will start out close to zero and only get closer as time goes on. (Of course these things
always approach zero, since the events switch over to the newer generations and anyone who still uses the old stuff is screwed over.)

So far I'm liking the few DP pokemon better than most of the RSE guys. Everyone seen except the parrot has looked pretty good (especially that Dark/Poison squirrel; goodbye psychic OHKOs!) while there are only a few RSE I genuinely like (Sceptile, Blaziken, Flygon, Salamence, Kyogre and the awesomeness that is metal psi crab of DOOM Metagross!), compared to only disliking Mr. Mime and that weird snake thing with wings from the previous games.
I wanna see the new starters though. Probably won';t be anything differing from the fire/water/grass types of previous games though.
Also Electric squirrel of death for the win.

At least, not since Red and Blue where the weakness system was snafu'd, resulting in such oddities as Gyarados weak to ice (despite being water-type). My Blastoise swept everything in the game, even making short work of Mewtwo. Then came GSC, and Blizzard's accuracy is cut to crap, not to mention the special stat gets split. A lot of awesome pokemon went to crap because of that, including Gyarados, Cloyster, and Alakazam. Sigh. At least the fighting-type got a huge boost.
And the hidden legends generally aren't worth crap (Mew is FAR weaker than Mewtwo, his only advantage is being able to use every TM). But neither are a good number of other pokemon (I'm looking at YOU, Delibird), you still need them all for a complete pokedex.

I like to rush through the game with one strong pokemon too. At the end, I just have ones I want to train up to have Exp. Share and have my one strong Pokemon to repeatedly keep battling the Elite Four until I run out of items and it faints.
