This is my villain, Lady Mindset. She's a magic psi-psi blaster, with flight and flurry from the power pool, as of right now. She also dresses like a total slut.

Her second costume might be more modest, but I felt like going full female villain stereotype for my first.

Tumerboy (Champions Online Environment artist) used to work on CoX and he is the one who made that cab. He said they made him change it to blue.

Once I subscribe, I'd like to add my Eric Geresti (And some other heroes I'll make then) to the group. I'll take a screenshot of Eric's current, boring look (he's a black dude in a suit, with sunglasses and a red-hilted katana and blue hilted katana) later.

I couldn't remember the exact shade of Red, and annoyingly you can't have a Skull Belt while wearing a Jacket. That irked me immensely.


But in exciting Blueside news, playing around with the costume creator on my Main Night Raider has yielded the most accurate vision of Night Raider as drawn by my childhood self to date:




I could ask for longer arm bands and a star to go along with the crescent moon, but that's picking nits. This is effectively the Night Raider I drew as a child. My Batman Knock Off, complete with armor padding on the legs and arms and a very basic color scheme of Grey on Steel with a Dark Blue Mantle and Cape. The Yellow "Star Eye" was a visual update from my Teenage Years, but I like the way it looks here.

I am gleeful. Night Raider is finally and completely realized. And I can finally knock off that "Gas Gauntlet" nonsense to explain the tech gloves.


Also, people need to get on the Allspark Global Chat Channel in the game. It's friggen lonely right now. Hopefully once I catch Skyfire and get Night Raider and Mister Astonishing into (or in NR's case, Back Into) the Omega Guardians it won't be so...lonesome.

Up until I20, I had kept the original red textures (you can put your own textures, sounds, etc. in the game, but they appear only to you). I20 moved the texture location around, so I just gave up.

As for The Regime, I actually don't play redside very often. I find the powersets annoying, and the content really isn't as much fun as blueside. I got really tired of the "Bosses were too wimpy blueside, so let's end every mini-arc with an Elite Boss" bull, too.

Right now I'm having problems with my laptop. It overheats quickly and as a result the game becomes unplayable after 20 minutes or so. Don't know when I'll be able to fix it.

I dunno. I was just on my villain and I did a mission for a contact that required me to rob a jewelry store to draw out an invulnerable hero. The jewelry store was in turn guarded by a exact copy of my villain, and tracking him down ended up leading me to a 5th Column Cloning base that culminated in me vanquishing my copy and seizing control of the facility.

Now I've got to bust into a Crey facility and poke around their Revanent Hero Project for information on how to make more stable clones for my own facility.

And I'm only Level 27.


Or the mission I did before that one, where I had to steal the soul of a rogue Circle Mage then take it to a altar in a Circle Stronghold and offer it up to a demon. In exchange, I now have a demon living inside me giving me access to the "Demonic Aura" Accolade power.


Blueside, Night Raider is trying to find a missing person in a billion step story arc that just involves a lot of "Beat Up The Warehouse Full of Bad Guys" with a bunch of missing leads and general "Go Nowhere" feeling. Beyond that, I can beat up 30 Nemesis Soldiers. Or deal with the Rikti. Or go dimensional hopping to realign sensor arrays.

I still find it hilarious that the "that power plant is evil!" Luddites on Redside were actually RIGHT.

'Fraid not. Otherwise I'd have switched Araknae to Dual Blades after I brought her to blue side. The Devs got asked once if that could be implemented but the response was something like "too many resources needed to pull that off"

Well, just save your costume set, make the char with the new set, and change the name a letter, just like the millions of xXx-S-Man-xXx and Wolferine players

Yea, street justice looks cool. Not willing to pay for it. I need to give my time defender some work to see how the Time Manipulation set stacks up.

If you are really desperate, remember the in-game font "l" (lower-case L) and "I" (upper-case "i") look identical. It can help for "keeping" a character name on two characters.

As for the response about blueside content vs redside content. Blueside has gotten an overhaul over the years. However, my biggest problem with redside is the concept. What is the main reason for being evil? Money or power. You get neither of those for being evil. And the little side-bar write-ins in the mission descriptions such as "you keep the cash for yourself and stow it away for your retirement" is just a cop-out, in my opinion.

Though, I do have a broadsword/regen stalker named Kuros Paladin on a different server that I want to take from redside to blueside. I created him for the sole purpose to have him switch sides. And the fact that I think a stalker knight is a hilarious idea. "Yeah, so you got pwned by a guy in full plate armor that somehow snuck up behind you and assassinated you. Loser."

Yea, Red side has problems. The civies still behave as if you are helping them (Which you are), and you never feel that villainous. Beating on Longbow isn't really that villainous. More so than a hero, a villain should have more power to guide what type of crimes they do. You don't jump from bank robbery to extortion to espionage. You get a theme, or a specific plan. Heroes have a whole generic city to protect, but villains don't really get to harass that city.

I've never understood the travel complaints. What exactly is so hard?

I'm tempted, but at the same time I just blew 4 million Influence getting the current NR Level 45 Enhancements and I've still got another 5 million sitting on him. I seriously wish there was some way of transferring Influence between characters. My lowbies are strapped for cash and in desperate need of enhancements.

Buy the enhancements on your high level guy and mail them to yourself?

Also, what City of Villains needs is more hero groups. All too often you fight other villains (which doesn't seem very evil) or the damn Longbow. Longbow is ok, but there's just so many of them it gets boring sometimes.

Meh. They also made temporary travel powers really easy to find. My corrupter had a free 1-hour jetpack by like level 6.

I also rolled a new Night Raider (Night-Raider this time instead of -Night Raider) and gave Street Justice a shot. It's decent, but eh. At Level 43, Dark Melee serves just as well. Hanging on to Night-Raider to probably rename the original it. Always bothered me, that hanging "-" at the front.

There was stuff I liked about the game but you guys are reminding me of all the crap I hated about. Names that get "Taken", "servers" and not being allowed to wear a cape until level 20

Lots of capes can be taken at level 1 now, too. I barely need to get people to 20 o get them capes when I want them now.

Case in point: here are 2 characters I re-invented on the new server: Free-Fall and Obscurantis. Notice that both have capes. Notice that Free-Fall has auras (Glowing eyes). Now look at their levels.

Yeah, but in Champions I don't have to name my guy xX00-We1n1e Mcballzzzxxxac because the name I wanted was taken. I can name my guy whatever I want. Every time.

I've never found it difficult to find a decent alternative to the name I want. I just have to think on it a little bit.

Damnit, I really need to get my laptop working again. If people I can trust to team with are actually playing again....

When are they going to get around to letting us recolor our robots?!?! Grrr!

Ha d a surprise last night when I logged in to Pinnacle to find several enormous Praetorian mechs attacking Atlas Park. Being only level 7, I still hurled myself at it. Got killed... a lot... Still, once I got my ranges worked out I was able to keep a steady flow of pulse fire, drones and O2 boosts flowing into the battle. Was there to take down at least 3 of them, and got some nice mods for my trouble. I did miss that aspect of this game where all hands get on deck. I also found a mission to join an NPC supergroup, which was nifty.

Looking over these invention pieces, there are quite a few I would like. I left before inventions arrived, so what does one do to acquire these/the recipes?

I'm trying to have fun on my MM's and Controllers now since I only get the one month with them. Figure I will roll a Dominator or Defender when things run out.

That was wildly entertaining. I was in the mix too, as well as goofing off in Broadcast. Started singing Bohemian Rhapsody, and generally being cheeky. Went to Pocket D afterwards for the "Divided We Fall" Title from the Admins - who were cheeky too in that they spawned Battle Maiden in Pocket D.

Though that Group Fly Temporary Power was plain annoying.

That temp power is a godsend though when hunting the Seed of Hamidon in the 1st Ward. Not everyone has flight, and that power is pretty much required to fight the damn thing.

I figure I should show off my main hero. He's my one level 50 at this point, with Incarnate slots unlocked and everythin'.

An avatar of destruction and natural extinction, the Clawborn is nonetheless an entity that seeks to maintain the balance between life and death. Bataar is one of its champions selected to act among those living in the outside world.

Since arriving in Paragon City, he has tried to remain under the radar. Unfortunately, this being Paragon of all places, new heroes don't remain obscure for long. He was given the name "Raptor Scribe" by the media; a title he meets with annoyance.

Got a few questions:

What Mod or program allows a person in chat to have their character name behind it? I see Devcon using this all the time and it strikes me as handy.

Similarly, is there any program out there that would allow a person to showcase all their characters in one picture?

Decided Eric Geresti wasn't the best fit for CoH, so I've freed up that slot for a new hero.

If you go read up on Demo Editing, you'll learn how you can piece together all of your characters into a scene and take a screen shot. I've done it a few times, but I don't have the pics anymore.
