Sooooo, who's actively play atm?
And do we have a SG?
Daith
Mar 19 2009, 09:39 PM
The Allspark as a whole doesn't have a SG as far as I know. But don't quote me on that. Wouldn't mind creating one, but my problem is that I'm an off and on again player. My highest character only dinged 25 today.

If we don't have a SG yet, I'll help start one. We could even design our Hero base after the Ark, RiD HQ or Animated Omegas inner design. Con, Animated Con Cave / Mine base.

There is the Omega Guardians SG that Kalidon started long ago. With a base that needs a little work. Now that we have the prestige, we can probably build a bigger teleporter room.
Right now, it's just Dev and I that are the active memebers.
There is an Allspark channel, too. But, again, pretty much just Dev and I.

Are you guys on Pinnacle as well Skyfire? I wouldn't mind jumping ship on my old SG even though there are some dang good perks with it. But it would be good to play with people I somewhat know rather than complete strangers.

Yes we are, look up Skyfire (global name: @The Paladin) or me (global name: @Devcon [ooooh, how original]) for a sg invite in the Omega Guardians.

Heroes or Villains?
If Heroes, I'l still make a Villain SG. S.U.V sound good?
Devcon
Mar 20 2009, 05:28 PM
Omega Guardians is heroes.
Redside, Skyfire usually hangs on Virtue, but I'm committed to Pinnacle. Pinstripe (my main villain) is in Kalidor's VG (The Regime) and the rest of my bad guys are in a one-man VG called "League of Inequity". But S.U.V. is definitely appropriate

Mar 23 2009, 09:47 AM
Dev pretty much answered it all. One evening I'm going to expand the existing Omega Guardians' base to add more telepads and such, since we can now afford it. However, we are coalitioned with a number of really great SGs, too. The League of Extraordinary Bickerers has a base with telepads to every zone hero-side that has them. A few of the other SGs do, too, but I can never figure out their base layouts.
If you do send me or Devcon a tell, be sure to indicate who you are. I know when I get tells from folks I don't know, I tend to just ignore them.

Anyone hang around a bit later on Pinnacle last night? It seems the AVs and GMs popping up started to ramp up closer to midnight. At one point under the statue in Atlas Park there were 2 Lord Recluse, 3 Cap'n Mako, and 2 Ghost Widow. A few minutes later, there were 6 - yes six - Kronos Titans immediately west of City Hall, all grouped together (got a screenie, but not handy right now). While everyone was there, 2 more Lord Recluse showed up, with 2 more Ghost Widow, and 2 Scirocco.

Strangely enough, my account subscription ran out in the middle of reactivation weekend, and didn't get reactivated for the rest. Too bad, but I didn't feel like paying to resubscribe until I'm ready to check out I15.
Although I hear they're having quite the fun time dealing with the mass farm-o-rama that the Mission Architect ended up causing. Let's see... players abusing the system for powerleveling... anyone not see that one coming?

So I've got a new computer in the pipeline at the moment (*Gnaws on computer screen* SHIP! SHIP! SHIP! SHIP! SHIP!).
My question is this: Is it worth coming back to CoX for awhile? I'm looking to get back into the MMO swing prior to Champions release, and I don't want WarCraft to get its meat hooks back into me.
Keep in mind when I left, all I had left was -Night Raider (I even deleted Mr. Astonishing, which for the life of me...I can't figure out WHY). I also could only make it to Level 20 on the Villains side before the zones started getting too technical for my computer to handle (I had to drop out mainly because my computer couldn't support CoX's graphical improvements...and become WarCraft got its meat hooks in me), so I've never really experienced villain content.

In a game where Grind is King?
Never!
Skyfire
May 7 2009, 10:36 AM
Gind is king? I wouldn't say that anymore, and I'm not referring to Mission Architect. They found there was an error with the XP schedules and fixed it. They also admitted their original schedules were based on faulty logic. Back then, the late 30s WERE a grind, but since then, I've had no problems with characters in the late 30s.
The Patrol XP thing kinda bugs me, though. It makes things TOO fast. But, even that can be taken care of now by simply disabling XP.

So, last night I found I had a new button on my published arc. "Complaints." I clicked it and all it said was "Content Violation (optional)". I think the same person also one-starred it.
So, what's up with that? Are there asses out there that are just griefing players' arcs, now? I can only guess that's what it is because I have nothing that could be content violation in it, (ok, Colonel Leghorn makes a chicken joke), and the loser didn't indicate what they found objectionable.
I suppose it is one way to have your arc reviewed by the GMs.... Still, I think if the complaint is cleared, the rating should be cleared, too, since it is obviously not a "true" rating.

Hey guys.
Something interesting.QUOTE
SEATTLE, Washington - May 12, 2009 - NCsoft®, the world's premier publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), and Paragon Studios™, the developer of City of Heroes®, today announced the development of City of Heroes Going Rogue™, the first major expansion for the City of Heroes franchise since the launch of City of Villains® in 2005. As the name implies, Going Rogue will blur the line between heroes and villains in the first and longest-running super-powered comic book MMO game.
In the Going Rogue expansion, hero and villain characters will become immersed in the new parallel universe known as Praetoria, which is governed by Tyrant™, the evil incarnation of the game's main protagonist, Statesman™. As gamers search for Tyrant and the rest of his Praetorian guard, implacable foes and fierce resistance will arise to face them from all sides, causing heroes and villains alike to question their loyalties.
City of Heroes Going Rogue will introduce a new alignment system that helps players explore the shades of gray that lie between good and evil. For the first time, hero characters can become villains and vice versa, enabling hero archetypes to cross over to the Rogue Isles™ and villain archetypes to experience Paragon City™. Clearly marked missions, in addition to behaviors and decisions made by the player, will move a hero's or villain's moral compass, which could eventually change the hero's or villain's alignment. Going Rogue will also introduce two primary new fictional characters representative of this alignment shift in the game's lore: Maelstrom, a pistol-wielding hero gone rogue, and Desdemona, a demon-summoning villain who has been redeemed.
"City of Heroes has brought a fresh new perspective to the MMO stage with its foray into the super-powered hero comic book genre, and we are excited to present gamers with even more innovative content in Going Rogue," said Brian Clayton, general manager and executive producer at Paragon Studios. "For years, players could choose between playing as a hero or a villain. Now we will present a third, malleable path where players can be affected by the results of their actions, enabling them to further develop, unveil new perspectives, and overcome new challenges."
NCsoft will share more details on Going Rogue in the coming months. The game is currently in development by NCsoft's Paragon Studios, the City of Heroes development team that most recently launched the ground-breaking Mission Architect system. The launch of Mission Architect sets a significant milestone for City of Heroes as the first MMO to allow players to create user-generated content. City of Heroes has and continues to set new standards among its MMO peers and player community with its engaging and approachable comic book-inspired universe theme and consistent delivery of concepts that break the standard MMO mold.

Demon summoning and pistol powersets?
Devcon
May 12 2009, 05:06 PM
Well, they're NPCs. So they can do whatever the hell they want. I still don't see a "sandstorm" set like Sirocco has for players.
Heard about this this morning but couldn't post until now.
Araknae's definitely switching sides when this hits - She "technically" started as a scrapper, but I wanted her to be a baddie... with a "redemption arc", if you will. So she'll become my "Blueside Stalker".
Obscurantis will probably croak to give room to redo Stella Obscura so she can truly be Star-Fall's opposite, and I'll make her switch to the dark side.
Am I going to use the side-switch to bring switch Stripes and Zoot so they can get the other side's badges, then switch them back... I'm a semi-committed badge whore, but not THAT committed. They're staying where they are. Same for Free-Fall.
Bocc Kob
May 12 2009, 05:14 PM
That sandstorm thing is his unique signature power, otherwise he uses in-game powersets like all the signature characters. Plus, there's no way they would bring out a new guy wielding a pistol and not make it at least a pool powerset. The forums would riot.
