Looks like Faultline will be a true "hybrid" zone. Part of it a City Zone, part of it a Hazard Zone.

Skip the Hollows. Currently solo, if you're a scrapper particularly, you can street hunt until 15 and go run missions in Bloody Bay until 20. Then go run missions in Siren's Call at 20, by then you can do all kinds of stuff.

Once the new radio scanner missions come in with I8, you can do those to level and you could basically ghost them for the mission bonus. But at lower levels doing the entire thing will net some nice, fast XP.

Another great source of XP are the outdoor city instanced missions. One run solo can yield at least a bar of XP, if not more. I've farmed them for an entire level as 6-10 runs taking 30 mins each gets me a level at 40 to 41.

I may try doing the missions in Warburg with Delta and DP, since they're both 32. Lady Novastorm's a lvl 24 blaster, I'll see what Siren's holds for her. My current lowby is the rerolled Cognator Prime (grav/emp troller), who's up to 13 right now in the Hollows. He rocks on teams, but I'm not to sure of his solo capabilities.

Well with your two 30's your fighting DE now, which are great sources of XP. And at 35 you get Rikti contacts, and Rikti are loads of XP. Have you finished Croatoa and run the TF there?


You should be able to solo fine with your troller, propel and lift combined with containment is decent damage.

I don't think I've completed Croatoa, I'll have to run my guys through there and find out. I know with Delta, I took it through the mission where you get that wand that kills ghosts in one hit, but I don't think I went past that.

You should definitely finish out Croatoa and run the TF at least once, it's all a lot of fun.



Anyone want to bet that I8 hits test next week?

Free-Fall is Grav-Empath, and she might be my most powerful character I have. Granted, I need to plan ahead of my moves, but when I feel like it she's plowing thhouth Invincible missions that would make Zoot curl up in a ball and cry to his momma. I think you'll do fine soloing with your own Grav-Empath.

well originaly the dam area of fault line was supposed to be host to a trial anyways. I imagine thats why its got the stripes now.

I'm thinking the patch is to fix a bug with the Good vs Evil in game items. It's being reported on the EU boards that if you respec and have the in game items, you lose them. Since the GvE package is not really available in the States yet, this would be a pre-emptive strike to fix it before it ever happened.

I think I'm quitting. The only reason I looked forward to new costume options like wings, etc. was that I thought it would be in the form of new missions and content, not based on how long you are willing to drag your knuckles for this game.

I feel like I'm playing SWG again...

Personally, very very few of the veteran reward systems interest me. In general, it certainly isn't going to keep me paying for another 3 months. I still think the 6 month and 3 month should be reversed, as the Greek Character option is just lame.

Wings are great and all, but we still need to make costumes more unique. Things we need are:

- Holsters, hip and thigh, left and/or right.
- Scabbards.
- Quivers.
- More full helmet options.
- Wrist and lower leg options, such as bands. I think a few "glove" options are wristbands, but it'd be nice to allow something on the lower leg other than just "tied."
- Vest options. Like the "robe" option. For instance, flak jacket, some sort of armor, etc.
- Backpacks (like Malta).

I'm just thinking of the devices blaster who somehow stores all the equipment he has in his tights? Or the infamous broadsword scrappers that whip out a sword from their...cape?

I know, there's an entire section for costume ideas on the official CoH forums. But, I just wish some of the talent the devs have for costumes could be used to making new items for all players.

How do you know we won't be getting some of that stuff with I8?

I'll say this.

The teleport animation to go to Pocket D using the Gold Card pass? A bit long... but niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

I'll play with my costumes when I get back from work... but for now I couldn't help peeking at the VIP section.

A bit deserted for now, but when I was checking things out 2 others came in.

The in game items are really nice. I thought I read a post over at the CoH boards where someone used the jump jet and super jump and managed to jump 2/3 the distance of Perez Park. It will be extremely handy for my blaster who uses super speed...particularly in places like Faultline (if he ever goes there) or in Terra Volta for the respec trial.

The teleport is gonna be really handy as well, particularly for getting around in some of the zones. Such as if you have a mission in CF and your next mission is in KR, just use the teleport to go to Pocket D and exit in KR.



I've noticed some changes in the hero side in regards to where you end up teleporting to using the base telepads. When I7 went live with the new beacons, if you teleported to Eden, you ended up at the Eden/FF gate...now if you go to Eden you zone in at Woodsman. IP used to have you zone at the very northern part, now you zone near the hospital. Rather weird.

I really like the jumpjet I made a new character to test the stuff out with, and I was able to get the badge on top of Atlas first thing It's also really handy in places like Skyway City for toons that don't have a travel power yet, allowing you to get over the high walls. Can't wait to see it matched up with the travel powers of my main characters.

Edit: Oh, and for those affected by the lack of Mastercard acceptance (like I was), you can get a Visa gift card to use, or use something like ePassporte to get a virtual Visa.

Hollows won't suck so badly now that there's that Jump Jet.

No, it will still suck. The jump jet can not improve the suck that is the Hollows.

No amount of jump jetting will get you to Atta any faster.

Yeah, without a travel power, jump jet gets you more vertical movement than horizontal. So you'll jump high, but still land in the middle of a group of those white rock monsters (can never remember their name!). They'll just be a little further away, and you'll only have 1 health when you land

Can anyone at least name a quality company? My old one was an ATI RADEON 9800 PRO. What are the other big name video card manufacturers (I is a computer geeneeus)?

I was teamed with someone last night that had the Pocket D VIP card. We were all on lowbies and had a mission door in Hell (SE Hollows). We all got there after about 20 minutes of travel, finish the mission and he TPs back to Tiki Lounge. The next mission was the same door we just left.

As far as new costume bits go, I'll wait until I8, but I still think they spent too much effort on the S&M stuff for Villains (Barbed wire collars? Padlocked belts?) when they could have put a few more practical bits in like - oh I don't know - matching all the glove options with the boot options. Just my thought.

As for a video card recommendation, I still like ATI. I briefly switched to the "flavor of the day" brand (which I don't even recall now) and was highly disappointed. The only problem with ATI and CoH right now is that CoH doesn't seem to like ATI, favoring another brand. I know they are working on the issues with ATI, but it seems CoH wants to blame ATI, and ATI wants to blame CoH. Meanwhile, FSAA is not getting fixed. Outside of CoH, though, ATI is supported very widely. There are other great manufacturers, too, but I can't really comment on them.

I'd recommend something with an nVidia chipset, as CoX has few problems that with ATI cards.

Well, whatever you get just be wary of the powersource requirements.

I have a Nvidia card, geforce 5200, I think...works pretty well for me. Though sometimes CoV hates me...

Thanks for the replies. I'd heard about the problems between ATI and CoX (and fiddled with my graphics options accordingly), but didn't realize the two were in some kind of pissing contest over whose fault it is. As for gaming, my only vice right now is CoX, so I'll probably try and avoid ATI and go with the nVidia. Then again, if ATI is "the best," then maybe I should go with that. So confusing...

Mine's a Geforce 6600GT 128mb, PCIx16 card. Runs very well with all the bells and whistles turned on and turned up! Any lag I get is solely the server's fault

But, yeah, make sure you've got the power supply to support your new card.

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 series with 256MB and I've never been happy with it. Stick with NVidia

Actually, I just contacted ATI and found out the 9800 series has a 3-year warranty (rather than their standard 1-year). Since the card is barely a year old, I guess I'll have them foot the bill rather than get a new card...

The upgrade is...meh...I mean it's a nice little teleport to Pocket D and a few new costume pieces, but I wish it was more for 10 bucks.

I DID make a few cool costumes tho.
